From the mystics of Mahabaleshwar to unending coastlines, Gokarna is an adventure-in-progress.Rebooting means doing things differently. Let brisk morning walks give way to yoga at sunrise. Let huffing, puffing and panting give way to deep breaths as your mind, body and soul unite in harmony.
If you are looking for a peaceful and a slow stay. This is the place you have to be. Set right on the beach cliff. This property gives you that do nothing vibes. The homestyle food is simple and delicious. Hardly one or two turn up in the beach. So technically you are in a private beach.

Property is located at a super scenic spot on a cliff overlooking the sea. A short walk down some steps leads you to Honey Beach. The rooms are rustic but clean. There is a wide choice in the menu, but you need to order in advance as the resort is located some distance from the main town. The seafood was good. If you want to spend a relaxed weekend without much sightseeing, this is the place to stay. Going to Gokarn by auto takes about 45 mins and costs around 1500 rs. There is also a ferry service, but we didn't have the time to explore that.

Me and my wife stayed at Red Earth, Gokarna from 20/21 December. The place in itself is very magical. The beach is so nice and clean. We had a wonderful time at the hotel and next time we visit we will stay for a longer duration. Thank you Red Earth for making out stay so nice and wonderful.

The only plus is the proximity of property to Honey Beach, very few visitors & being maintained so very well, imparts you a feeling of being on a picture perfect private beach. Else, Red Earth is on a deserted & secluded location, quite off the usual habitation hence meant for visitors looking for nothing else but only an absolute relaxation / no doing / peace / meditation. Forget about any possibilities to explore options to eat / drink anywhere apart from their inhouse restaurant, which serve hot food but of pathetic taste & quality. Quantity served doesn't justify prices being charged for the dish. Just for example to understand- One highly bone stud slice of fried Kingsfish weighing nothing more then 100 - 150 grams is charged at Rs. 500/-. One will be shocked to see the quantity being served over lunch / dinner table for other ordered items too & above that you will not be able to order anything additional since they cook strictly as per advance requests received from guests. So be careful & carry some snacks to face such highly likely hard time. Overall a much BELOW AVERAGE experience, surely would not like to visit again.…

Very bad service, I hv booked a cottage 15 days before but they gave us 1 dirty room which had crack on walls and told us this is the only room available and as the booking was prepaid no refund allowed. Food taste is less than average, we hv asked for romantic candle light dinner, we paid 2900 extra in advance for decoration but it was very bad, in package they hv told us that decoration would be with flowers and balloons but they literally put 4 balloons and no flowers at all. Dinner was pathetic. Overall only property location is good rest everything is very very bad

I went with a lot of expectations but was really disappointed with the property. Very badly maintained property. They have really spoilt the property . Very bad service. The spa was below average. Inspite of being in such a good location. It was a great disappointment. Need to revamp the place

My wife and I stayed at Read Earth Gokarna for three nights and had a really memorable experience . The location of the resort is unbeatable with an almost private beautiful Honey beach next door . Food was prepared on demand and was good as well . The facilities need a makeover and would like to see sea facing cottage rooms as well in future . But the location and the ambience made us fall in love with Red Earth Gokarna and look forward to staying there again in future !

The Only thing going for them is their location. Rats in the room the first night and when I asked the manager to shift us he says to me "No,there's nothing there, you can stay there itself" This without even bothering to come check the room. Eventually got the room changed because I insisted that they come check the room and see the rats for themselves. That first day we were locked in because the road was being tarred. All meals were eaten here. 4 of us in our group of six, and our dog were vomiting by the end of dinner. When the manager got to know about this through the waiters watching us run to vomit, his first response was not one of concern but defense. "No, this is not our fault. It's never happened. From where you ate food?" Reiterating here that we were locked in that first night. After a while, a waiter has the audacity to ask me if we had had a lot to drink. Facts - we'd ordered 4 beers and gave back 3 that night. I found it ridiculous that the management and its employees all just assume that it's our fault. Any request we had such as a glass to drink beer in, or to sit outside the room, or to sit and eat in the dining zone outside was met with resistance. Beer can only be drunk in beer mugs and no other glass. Juice has to be drunk only in juice glasses and no other glass. Ask for a little more potato palya, we get told it's in the bowl already. Ask for chutney, we get told the same thing. Mind you they serve you these accompaniments in tiny bowls and then create a fuss when you ask for more. The non veg dog food is charged in addition to the dog charges. You get 5 measly pieces per order and they bring it really cold and hard. When I asked for it to be slightly hot I'm told "You can give your dog this, it will eat" Okay what? The last night we were there, the manager comes to us and says we should use the spa services. None of us are interested in it. He then tells me " I will offer you a complimentary foot massage ma'am, you should try it" I declined this offer for a freebie. When we checked out the next day, we asked for two bottles of water as it was sweltering. This same waiter says "bottle water is only for checked in guests" I am beyond shocked and irritated at this point, and my fiancee makes sure that they know this. The manager and owners are in the reception during this time. Because my fiancee was irritated and made sure that they all heard, the manager came running asking what happened and if he could do something. He was told off and my fiancee walked away in a horrible mood. Who says no to water in that heat? We then get in our car and begin to drive out the parking lot when the same waiter came up holding three bottles insisting we take them. We refused these three bottles saying no need you can keep the bottles for checked in guests. We don't want freebies, thank you very much. The owners and management refuse to take feedback and the only thing they know is how to push fault back onto the customer. She claims we asked for freebies and that we were bulldozing our way around ( this is her response to the three others who've left reviews) Requesting basic service and amenities is not bulldozing. If you are not willing to take feedback for your horrible service, change it. Get rid of the rat infestation you have in rooms 4&5. Service the ACs in your rooms. Maintain the bathrooms and faucets ( you claim to be earth friendly and have leaky faucets that you refuse to fix and create a fuss, calling customers bulldozers when it's pointed out. What a joke) What's the point in leaving hanger if you're not going to have a hanging rod in the cupboard? I'm not interested in listening about your other properties when I'm letting you know that my stay is not comfortable here. Maybe take care of the services in the one that we are in before incessantly over selling the others. We know the other properties are much better no wonder you only sell those from the get go. To the owner, I'm not interested in your response where you know only how to gaslight your paying guests by using words such as bulldozing and claiming falsely that we asked for freebies when in fact they were refused by us. Maybe you have not travelled the world or this country like we have, but we know what value we pay for and this is definitely not cut from the same cloth as the Red Earth brand.…

Dear Madam, We have scrupulously gone through all your complaints in the resort itself. Unfortunate that only your group had issues. We have had guest prior to you & after you in the same cottages as your good self..with absolutely no complaints We have also answered your lengthy review on google. It is impossible to respond to your groups' chain of negative reviews from different platforms of social media. As also a barrage of messages to my WhatsApp number Our stand on supporting our staff when wrongly accused, remains. 🙏

Gem of a property with an amazing private beach and a short hike to breath taking views .The staff is very humble and kind specially parashuram ,mangalakka and deepthi thanks a lot for your hospitality. The only thing which could improve is the taste of food .It was very tasty sometimes and very blant sometimes. I guess this depends on which chef was available. Advice to management target marketing to the crowd which loves serenity . I heard there was some big party which was planned and got canceled, it would have been an absolute nightmare if it was to happen when we were there . Make sure you keep tabs on the kind of people who come to the property! Red gokarna has lot of potential and I would recommend it to a lot of people. All the best !

Fantastic location with a nearly private beach and surrounded by greenery on one side and water on the other. The staff are really good and very friendly, the rooms are well equipped and have all basic amenities. Being a small property the cafeteria is not fully equipped and food is prepared based on order. This makes the menu extremely limited. If you want to enjoy a few days of calmness and privacy then this is a perfect choice.

Dear Madam, Thank you for choosing Red Earth Your feedback has been taken onboard. Our properties are all tucked in properties away from the towns. Which makes for a great location. But the challenges are many in running in tucked in destinations. Our menu has been done with a lot of thought. It has the local cuisine & a global select menu. Based on the produce of the day. Unlike a regular hotel, we do not carry forward food & prefer a farm to fork system. Do visit our other properties in Kabini, Tadoba and Grassroots in Wayanad Kerala Warm regards, Rachel & Ravi 8884733188
