It is one of India's deepest and largest step wells and is located in front of the Harshat Mata Temple, an ancient 8th Century sun temple. Abhaneri draws many tourists including OAT as well as many historians to this place as it is the oldest monument (over 1300 years old) in the Golden Triangle of Delhi/Agra/Jaipur. Stopped here for lunch on our drive from Jaipur to Agra. The food and service were very good. Spent a little time walking the grounds. It looked like a really neat place to possibly spend the night, wish we had more time.
