Apartment J101, which I can comment on with one word : perfect. Great view of the golf course surrounded by lava flows, and complete with all appliances, especially the presence of washer and dryer was very helpful, on this trip to Hawaii that lasts almost two months. Perfect maintenance, as well as initial cleaning. Enjoyed both the Beach Club and the stocked supermarket within the Resort. Highly recommended.

Stayed 6 nights in one bedroom , 2nd floor oceanview unit C203. Beautiful view of ocean beyond the golf course. Unit was very spacious with large living area and balcony. Kitchen was well equipped, and stackable washer/dryer much appreciated. The extra half bath was very convenient,as we had our teenage son with us. Parking was covered, assigned and very close by the unit. We arrived after hours, but the lockbox on the unit with the key was very easy, and management is very responsive by text or phone call if you have any questions. Really enjoyed our stay in Mauna Lani. It never seemed crowded , as access throughout the community is carefully controlled with key card at beach club and coded access gates. We booked through Hyatt, and highly recommend this property. Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful location, and well maintained, spacious unit. Mahalo!

Huge place with plenty of room for hanging out with the family, cooking, eating, games, etc.
Beautiful garden and mountain view with a shortcut (through golf course, afterhours, of course) to the shopping center.
Spacious rooms and ginormous bathrooms made our stay very comfortable!
You cannot beat the location if you plan to explore the north and south loop of the island.
I would prefer that the non-master, but still huge, guestroom had two queen beds versus having a king. This set up would be much better for families. The futon in the hallway sleeps one person, but the space could be more efficiently utilized with a queen flip out Murphy bed.
Highly recommend.

The Mauna Lani resort property is gorgeous, and it's the perfect area to stay in if you want to be close to the action without being in it. We loved being in a gated community, and the beach club (great place for lunch!) was a bonus. That said, as others have mentioned, the individual units at Mauna Lani Point seem to vary greatly. We requested a second floor ocean view room upon booking and ended up in a ground floor unit (B101) with a partial ocean view at best. The unit wasn't as clean as we'd have liked, and while there were plenty of pots/pans/dishes in the kitchen, there were no basic cooking supplies such as salt, pepper, oil, foil, saran, etc. During our stay, we had maintenance out just to show us how a few things worked, which seemed unnecessary. I'd love to see management put together a welcome binder to leave in each unit that contains some basic information about both the interior (light switches, remotes, A/C controls) and surrounding property. Now that we know how the resort is laid out, we'd stay again, but only if we could book a specific unit. It'd be nice if the option to do that could be made available online with photos included that are specific to each one.

We booked a 2 bedroom ocean view unit with a pull out sofa bed and 2.5 baths for 5 people. When we arrived, our unit, E205, did not have a sofa bed or a half bathroom. The office said they could move us but we wouldn’t have the ocean view which was important. They brought us a roll away bed which my 79 year old mother slept on, it was not comfortable. She also had to walk into a bedroom to use a bathroom in the middle of the night as we didn’t get the 1/2 bath we booked.
The unit had a great view and lanai but it is very old and needs updating. The carpet, especially in the master bedroom was stained and disgusting. The furniture in the master was old and rickety. The master bathroom faucet was broken and the sink did not drain very well. The area is gorgeous, love the private beach club and the parking was easy. It seems to me there should be a standard level that these condos should be kept at. This one failed to meet quite a few expectations.

Mahalo for your stay and review of Mauna Lani Point. It sounds like you enjoyed the location, views, and property amenities such as the private access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club but most of your disappointments were with the individual condo you stayed in. It is important to note that each residence at Mauna Lani Point is individually owned, which means the way it is furnished will differ. Since your stay, we have replaced all of the living room furnishings, and the carpeting is scheduled to be replaced with brand new tiling in August 2023. I can assure you that each residence we manage must complete an annual review to assure it meets our rental standards. Our condos also abide by global Hyatt Care cleanliness standards from the linens and towels we use to the soaps, lotions, and toiletries we provide guests. We hope you give the Mauna Lani Point another try on a future stay to the Big Island. Destination Residences Kona-Kohala Guest Services Team Part of Destination by Hyatt

All of the condo units in the complex are large and airy with spacious lanaii or patio (on 1st floor). Truly a luxury complex. The kitchen and bathroom in our one bedroom unit (B201) were dated and worn and could use a make-over. Keep that great sub-zero fridge though. Both the indoor and outdoor furniture however were nice and comfy as was the bed. There were no condiments provided in the kitchen but there is a nice grocery store nearby. There is a lovely walking trail along the water leading all the way to the Fairmont Orchid. We really enjoyed our morning walks. Mauna Lani Point resort also gives you access to the nearby Beach Club which is lovely little beach great for snorkeling. The pool and hot tub area is nice and private. There is full outdoor kitchen as well as several barbecues. We would stay at Mauna Lani Point again. Great option if you like self-serve roomy accommodation.

It’s hard to evaluate or describe a place that’s picture perfect in every respect. They truly thought of everything. I know it depends on the unit, but our condo was roomy and comfortable and the furniture looked relatively new. There were no stains, tears or scratches on anything. The kitchen was fully stocked with every dish, pot, pan, flatware and small appliance that you could possibly need. We had a golf course view which was fine because it’s an easy walk to the beach. And, the walking trail was wonderful, which we used every day for our morning walks. Last, but not least, the bed was comfy and the bathrooms were fully stocked with upscale amenities (bath gel, lotion, shampoo, conditioner). Truly a luxurious experience and I highly recommend it. We can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful overall experience - we will be returning! The property and condo were both amazing, as were the views of course! The amenities like the private beach and pool area were added bonuses on top of the gorgeous natural views where the condo is located.

Our family of 5 had an excellent trip to this community and stayed in a two-bedroom villa with great views of the golf course, kitchen, dining area, patio, and covered parking. Communication to the front desk with Marvellee before and during our stay was great. We enjoyed the beach club access as it was close and excellent. Snorkeling just off the beach was great with lots of fish and we even saw an eel. It was a perfect getaway for the family and I would highly recommend.

Staff are excellent, great location for golf, and really nice beach club! My unit was so huge sometimes I got lost! The beach is mostly sandy and was calm while I was there so you can snorkel too. North and South golf courses are really fun, and the South signature hole toward the ocean is stunning, and there are whales breaching in the distance. Oh, and there’s a damn volcano nearby.

It probably depends on how you book. I booked through Hyatt using points so there wasn't one.

The only two things worth jockeying buildings would be an ocean view and proximity to the pool as some units are quite far and make walking more difficult. I don't recall the exact layout of the buildings by letter, but I called the office multiple times before arriving and they were always quite helpful. I would also try to see when and if the unit has been updated. We had one that was desparate in need of updating, did not have HD TV, and as my review stated, had quite an infestation of little bugs. I would not stay at this complex again without strong assurance on this topic.
