Rooms are clean with a/c. Wifi forget it. If things break don't expect them to be fixed, or better yet maybe they will get done when you leave. The lack of warmth towards clientele I have no words... The restaurant has a nice terrace but food is overpriced.

Nothin wrong with the rooms which are clean with a/c. Wifi a bit finicky and was not working when we checked in. When I sought out who seemed to be the Manageress, her response was typically Gallic, "je n'en suis pas responsable " (not my fault): but she then went grumbling to fix the problem. This lack of warmth towards the clientele extends to the rules about breakfast which I photographed. The restaurant has a nice terrace but food is overpriced and if you are on Demi-pension and wish to eat a la carter be prepared to battle in French.

This peaceful little hotel is located in about 300m distance from the (pebble) beach. There are some boats to rent, and for guided boat tours. On the back side of the hotel are mountains, and the sky in the night is very clear. There are parking lots for free. Our room was very clean, spacious and with a beautiful interior and sea view from the balcony. The sea view is from the rooms 4-6 on the first floor. The air conditioning is quiet. The restaurant is expensive but there is a nice terrace with sea view for having dinner. The breakfast is small but included in the room costs. There is a free Wi-Fi, but its speed is rather slow. The staff is friendly.

Finding anywhere to stay in out-of-season Corsica is hard enough, so the positives are that Hotel Camparellu was open at all, the rooms were reasonably priced, large, clean and well furnished - once we'd convinced the owner's mother that, no, two male motorcyclists didn't want to share a double bed and, yes, we really did want the two rooms we'd booked online. However, the restaurant was shut - there was no warning when booking, or we'd have gone elsewhere. But out of season, there's nowhere to eat in Galeria, so we went to bed hungry. And of course there was no breakfast either, so we had to travel another 30km to find somewhere open to eat. It's not so much the lack of food that irritates so much as the lack of consideration: I've stayed in other hotels where the kitchen/restaurant is closed and the staff bend over backwards to make sure you don't starve. Here, all we got was a shrug. Then there was the weather. It rained heavily in the night - so much so that both rooms were flooded by water getting in under the door, which was treacherous (and unpleasant) on the tiled floors. Then there was the power going out... So all in all, we had a terrible time. But this was out-of-season and Corsica as a whole doesn't seem ready for visitors. Go there in summer, when it's dry and the restaurants are open and it should be fine. The service may even be better. In fact, in summer it would be probably be spectacular. But out-of-season, avoid it.
