People don't come here for facilities or because it has the best of every checklist that you can find while thinking of hostels. They do because they want to meet nice people, they like the warmth of a home, they want friendly people who genuinely take care of them. We do have all the essentials (and more) of a good hostel. But do not choose us if you evaluate a hostel based on its facilities rather than vibes or people. — Good vibes because this is not a business for us. It’s our home where we meet so many travellers — Cleanliness is super important for us — 10 minute walk from the beach. Arambol drum circle, sweet water lake, banyan tree, mountain view, surfing, awesome vegan restaurants, village flea market, hippie parties (that you won’t find on TripAdvisor or anywhere else) - all close to us — Wi-Fi that actually works. Our friends need to Skype with their dear ones back home. We understand — Some more good vibes from the universe — Neon room for partying at night

Earlier this month just before all the covid madness hit I found myself wandering around Goa with nowhere to stay. Having attempted to check in to 5 different hotels and being rejected from all due to my European decent & a fear of the virus, at my lowest point there was a distinct resemblance to a prenatal embryonic baby jesus on the back of a little donkey.
After 2 days riding on the back of a metallic motorised mule, I, now part of a banished motorcycle gang, finally arrived at the gates of the Happy Panda Quarantine. With open (sterilised) arms we were greeted into the commune & given a bed, a beer and some heavenly food from the talented boys in the kitchen there.
I stayed for just over a week and all 3 of my worldly wishes were granted: good food, good sleep and good company.
Big thanks to Kartik & Sourabh
11/10 will be back one day. x

Had an amazing stay at the hostel! I just loved the vibe here and it’s super value for money since they really keep it clean. Great food at their own restaurant too! Prob the best I had in Arambol. Would definitely recommend this place, felt like a second home, all thanks to the amazing owners!

If you are looking to book a hostel in Arambol, then look no further. From the moment you enter through the gates of the hostel to the day you leave, your hosts: Kartik and Sourabh would guide you. For solo travellers like me, Happy Panda Hostel is a one stop vibe shop. The hostel is very neat and tidy, the hosts wholesome, and the community diverse and vibrant. Come here with an open mind, and a friendly heart, and you'd have an experience of a lifetime!

My stay at the Happy Panda Hostel was disappointing due to the "rude host" experience. The staff's attitude was consistently unfriendly and unhelpful, which made me feel unwelcome. The overall atmosphere of the hostel suffered as a result. The rooms were average, but the lack of customer service overshadowed any positives. It's unfortunate they seemed disinterested in providing a pleasant stay. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to fellow travelers seeking a welcoming and enjoyable environment. Improved staff training and a more customer-oriented approach would be necessary to change my impression of the Happy Panda Hostel.

Read all the other amazing reviews and then see your review. Its a contradiction. Even people know who is saying the truth and you are a liar. First learn to behave with people with politeness and respect and then expect a good experience. You were thrown out of our property for bad behavior. And we will happily do that again if you do that again. You get what you give. May you heal and do something better in life. Shanti Shanti.

The name itself contains 2 of my favourite words! Happy and Panda😄
It’s a really cosy and comfortable hostel amidst Arambol. There’s a lot of space to sit and chill, very clean toilets, Wi-Fi etc. also, they carry out various activities there like karaoke, salsa night etc!!
And the hosts- Kartik and Sourabh. One of the nicest and warmest people I’ve met till date!
Do visit! I was here for 3 nights and I’ve had a really memorable and amazing experience.
So many people from different countries and so many stories to share! I’m definitely visiting them again! Cheers guys great job ☺️🍻

The staff and friendly and welcoming and the facilities are okay. For the price (8-man dorm, non AC we paid 419 rupees per night) we can't really complain.

We stayed in the 8 man dorm and compared to the other hostels we've stayed in it was small and cramped; these rooms just aren't big enough for the amount of people. Socket adaptors and lockable boxes are provided.
There are multiple bathrooms, but our room did not have an ensuit. There was no hot water.

There was a nice chill out area both inside and outside but bring the bug spray!

There was a communal kitchen which was great and the vibe here was friendly and held a sense of community. However, if you want to sleep this may not be the place as loud music played late into the night.

It was an easy walk into town but be warned the beach is not close. Is a good 10 minute walk. Fine location, just not ideal for relaxing beach retreat...

Hey thank you so much for the review buddy . But we have not mentioned anywhere that its a beach retreat. We have purposely chosen to be in the central location of arambol village for numerous advantages like better access to local shops, eateries, cheap fruit sellers,Atm,bus stop etc. We also have a strict No music policy after 10-30pm which is the earliest in all of goa. You should visit some other hostels and you shall conclude we are the most chilled out. Come back again and we will change your mind. Cheers !

Tranquility, warmth, clean and friendly! That would be the definition of this hostel.
Tucked away from the beach and the crowd, this place has an amazing team always looking after their guests and hostel.
We even left our bags for 5 days while travelling by scooter to other places around the state!!!
These guys are fantastic, helping and giving advises for everything you ask, and the wifi is great!!!

Thank you so much!

Hey Gabrielle, sorry we're completely booked for 30th and 31st December. However we're getting so many requests. So we're planning to put up some cozy little tents. We will open bookings for tents in a bit. Same warm and cozy vibe of Happy Panda in a tent :) If you're up for some adventure, give us a week to open up bookings and put up some pictures.
