This was the WORST place I have ever stayed at! Requested wheelchair accessibility , the carpark was nowhere near the unit, and idiot not fit the kitchen very well...and there was furniture blocking access to the bathroom! The covering on the couch was dirty worn out and had started to split! The bed was lumpy and it felt like a spring was sticking in my bum all nightr!| The looking was far to low for a wheelchair person, there was some sort of glue/adhesive on the floor that looked like a pile of you-know-what! The shower had only safety rail, which was on the far wall...which was completely out of reach until I was in the shower! and it was of entirely no use getting out of the shower! The Continental breakfast was a joke and for $15 it would have been cheaper to go out for a cooked breakfast! The position of the room was noisy and did not feel safe! I could not wait to get away from that place and have a shower and change clothes!…
Situated between a busy motorway and a container yard, this can be very noisy. The rooms are very clean and adequate, but close all the windows at night or be woken by the noise. Ample parking under the building. Hotel next door for food is good.
I base my accommodation on trip advisor reviews and this one had some really good reviews so when it came to make a booking for a concert I did not hesitate. The reviews stated the lady in the office was very friendly and welcoming and even went out of the way to organise taxis. Brilliant - booked the "deluxe family room" for 3 people and even though the usual rate would only be $250.00 for 3 people, due to there being a concert the price went up another $120.00 to $ 370.00 for one night. With such positive reviews we looked past the hike in the room price due to the convenience of being close to Mt Smart. We arrived late afternoon after travelling and shopping and looking forward to getting to our room and relaxing. The office was locked when we arrived and the lady opened the door and the phone rang so took the call without a word to me or apology. I was handed the key and told our room was upstairs - okay - I was then asked how we were getting to the concert and after replying we would uber, I was told that we not be able to get an uber and that she was organising taxis if we wanted one. I would have to let her know as soon as possible though and she mentioned this on more than one occasion but we decided we would just take care of ourselves as it felt like we were getting pushed into booking one - maybe they get a commission from the taxi?? I was also asked what time we were leaving in the morning - strange when everyone knows that departure time is usually 10am. Guess they wanted us out as soon as possible for the next lot of concert goers coming in. We found our room which was clean but also very compact with a double bed in the main area and two singles in a separate room. The beds were very hard which might suit some people and the traffic noise is constant being next to the motorway and harbour. Ear plugs are provided though but it might be more beneficial if the extra money made from concerts went into double glazing? We also had no problems getting an uber to and from the concert so location wise this motel is great but for everything else we might just try somewhere different next time as value for money it is definitely over priced as it is quite outdated and cant really justify the amount of money spent on a terrible nights sleep.…
Good hotel but can update kitchen, milk supply preferably in a sealed milk container. Overall big room and spacious. Heater is small and takes loooooooooong to heat up room. I was thinking of giving it a 4 star...
Stayed here for a total of three nights. The staff are absolutely fantastic, all having a great and welcoming personality that go above and beyond expectations. The room was perfect, included all essential components and was very clean.
My family stayed here at the end of our trip all over NZ. The motel is in a terrific location for using public transportation. It is near the Onehunga train station which allows for convenient bus transport from the airport and as well as the train into Auckland city center. Our room was sparkling clean and perfectly stocked. All touches were thought of in the kitchenette. The owner of the hotel was incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had all the information we needed for using the nearby public transportation including printing off a train time table. To top it off, when we asked if their DVD lending library had a copy of a particular NZ movie that we wanted to show our children, she went out and bought it to make sure it was in her library. Such friendly service!…
Rozita and Aaron, the owners of this establishment were most welcoming to their property. This motel is very clean and I have to say that after all the travelling we have done we have never come across someone like Rozita who was an absolute gem in assisting us with our problems that arose and gave up a lot of her time to do so. We are most grateful to her and would highly recommend this property for a one night stay.
I must admit, it's easy to find and get to off the motorway - but extremely easy to miss their driveway. No parking close to your room. Our room was tidy an clean. Towels were just shoved on the shelf, not placed nicely. Face cloths were shoved in amongst the towels etc. Kind of small and pokey. But clean. Harbour View is deceptive. My view was the off ramp and motorway. Lots of traffic noise. Completely over priced for what you get
The motel was very comfortable - modern, clean with everything needed, The bathroom was on the balcony side which helped cut light and noise from the road which meant hardly any of either intruded. So was perfect. The only thing I missed was there were no tissues when I needed some. The staff were very helpful organising shared taxis between guests for the Taylor Swift Concert which was great. And the late check out they gave me was appreciated.
We stayed one night at this motel and were very impressed with all aspects. There was ample parking behind the motel for one's car and the owners were very helpful and attentive towards all our questions. The room was more than big enough for two and looked fresh and inviting. It had a very good kitchenette with more than adequate provision for in-house meals. The information booklet written up for motel users was fantastic with coverage of every need someone staying in Auckland could want information on. There is a restaurant next door and the town shops are within fifteen minutes walking distance. The airport is only a ten minute drive away. I will certainly be returning to this motel and I would highly recommend it to all-comers.
