After a wet and windy walk on the Southern Upland Way we discovered The Kenmuir Arms in the lovely village of New Luce, and were very pleased by the warm welcome we received, the good beer and an excellent evening meal in the bar at very reasonable prices.

The Kenmuir Arms is off the beaten track, yet close to Stranraer and the ferry for Ireland. It's also in beautiful countryside. You'll not 'stumble' across this place unless you're lost! We travel by motorcycles and so any reviews I write are with this in mind and at the forefront of my consideration. I will only review a hotel if...

We stayed 2 nights 18 to 19th March. The proprietors said this was off the beaten track. Not so, it is only 9 miles to Stranraer, so is ideally placed for exploring the Rhins, the Machars and the Galloway Forest Parks. Dumfries itself is little more than an hour away ! If you are more energetic it is idal for...

Last minute booking for the last night of our two week Scotland holiday and this was just what was needed. Cosy, no fuss, no frills, just lots of warm hospitality, great value food, fab real ale, in a lovely setting. Wish we had discovered this earlier in the week. Think this place may currently be for sale, but hope when...

We spent the night at Kenmuir Arms, lovely room, 3 course dinner just as good as we remembered it from our last visit, breakfast filled us up and was served with a smile! Nice quiet location, and very friendly owners and guests! Thanks Alison and Paul, not to forget the four new resident ducks! Hope to see you soon!

The Kenmuir Arms Hotel is a wonderfully hospitable place with one of the best bars along the Southern Upland Way. The hosts are friendly as can be and great cooks as well. This place is great for whomever happens by, but it is a must for walkers. Super affordable, wonderful food, good bar, lovely accommodations. It will set you up...

We found the Kenmuir on our first visit to the area last Easter (2014) and enjoyed it so much we returned on this holiday. We ate in the bar with out 4-year-old as the dog is (quite rightly) not allowed in the restaurant. Food is good and reasonably priced; landlord very friendly and they have real-ale on tap. Menu could...
