The chalets seem to have seen better days, but this place is awesome: the reserve has a lot of interesting wildlife and the different soils assures a great diversity of plant ecosystems. Interesting to visit hiking. On the negative sides, the shop is almost empty: no bread, no rice, no meat... and some activities, like sandboarding, could be organised with...

Spacious, well equipped and laid out stone house. The bathroom setup is unique with a separate bath room, separate area (own door) big shower with ample space. Soft touches like small loose carpets at each side of the bed. There is a big, raised fire pit out front and a small raised water whole where springbuck and duiker leisurely drank....

Witsand Nature Reserve should be more visible to those who enjoy wide open expanses with high quality accommodation. The bird hide is a very good birding site and is frequented by antelope too. The bungalow sleeps two in very warm beds and the kitchen and bathrooms were clean and the water very hot! Two ply toilet paper is dunes are...

Stayed in the chalets, which are private, spacious, well equipped and have a great bush feel - all build in a flat U-shape around a fantastic braai area, which includes a small watering hole that brings the wild life right into your backyard. The thatched rooms all open onto an open stoep, which makes them a bit cold in winter,...

Always wonderful...always a treat. The chalets are really nice...with the best outside braai areas one can hope for. This place is a really special place for family getaways and bonding. The kids love the sand boarding on the dunes..and so did we. The chalets are positioned such as to allow sufficient privacy..but also in a way that allow game to...

We camped at Witsand for one night passing through, and we're only sorry we didn't have longer. It's a really lovely campsite, with lots of space for each site and vegetation in between making them a bit more private. Each has a braai, water and a light. Ablutions are a short walk away, and very nice. The reserve itself is...

We camped for two nights at Witsand and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and was able to cater to all our needs. The ablutions are clean and the water was hot. Even though it looks like the monkeys can be a problem, we were not bothered by them. Remember to take a blue camping plug adapter...

Lovely place to experience great for dune climbing and hikes. We were a couple and stayed in one of the private units which has 3 rooms, would be ideal for families or touring pairs. Rooms are comfortable and simple with common kitchen area. Small bucks walk past your Braai area. We had a good stay over
