We chose this hotel well in advance due to the proximity to the Messe Dusseldorf. It turned out to be a perfect location with very easy access to the motorways. There is also a petrol station and two supermarkets close by should you need any essentials.
I stayed in a double room which was two single beds placed together. Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable with ample space to work and sufficient storage for a long stay. A safe is also in the room and a mini bar with soft drinks included in the price. An iron and ironing board were provided on request with no fuss. The only negative is that whilst wifi was available downstairs in the bar and restaurant, unfortunately it did not reach my room. We would recommend bringing your own wifi hotspot if staying for business reasons.
There is a lovely little bar area downstairs.
Breakfast was excellent with everything you would want but standard coffee only. No specialist coffees were available. Ample selection of teas. Food selection was excellent with cereals (including gluten free), yogurts, cold meats, cheeses, salmon, fruit and eggs.
I stayed with work colleagues and we ate dinner in the restaurant every night. The quality of food was as breakfast, excellent. Gluten free bread was also provided and I had confidence that my meals were correctly prepared. Out of 7 dinners I was not ill once and each server new clearly the definition of gluten free.
However, what truly makes this hotel is the staff. All are exceptionally friendly and very efficient. Even to the extent that on Sunday night when the bar and restaurant were shut (we were informed it would be) we were served a glass of wine each in the bar with a smile.
This is a lovely small family hotel in a nice area and we have already asked for rooms to be reserved for us at the next K Fair in 3 years time.
The buildings are beautiful as well. The main building breathes history (built in 1666) but has all the modern features to make it 21st century -proof. I had a single room which isn’t big but clean, modern with all the amenities a hotelroom should have. Just one small remarks: the building is quite warm and so is the room but fortunately one can open the window for fresh air.
Also the restaurant and separate coffeebar (great selection o f coffees…) are top notch. So the decision is taken to come back, but now with my wife to use Gut Dyckhof as a base for walking and exploring Düsseldorf.
First thing to be noticed: Every single person working here will immediately make you feel home and do whatever they can for you to be happy.
There are lots of glutenfree, lactosefree options and all staff did their very best to provide me quite a range of different breads and menu options, they were honestly caring and super lovely!
The rooms and grounds are stunning!
I was more than happy about the walk in closet and bathtub in my room :-)
All food (breakfast to dinner) was super fresh and incredibly delicious.
They do as well have great wines, staff knew all about it and provided useful advice.
Aso they know what they’re doing when it comes to cocktail mixing.
No elevators :(
There were fabulous fresh juices at breakfast. The selection of hams and cheese was a bit limited, but the food that was there was of very good quality and there was plenty of it.
This was a fantastic place to stay and we will be back!
It reminds me of old ages, when people lived in a more slow-pacing world than today. Wherever you are in the hotel premises you can imagine a horse carriage or a knight on a horse going around. The interior resembles more like a castle, there are a lot of stony and wooden elements, and some of the walls are made of bricks with no plaster on them.
Some rooms might be difficult to reach for people with disabilities, as there are a number of steps up and down and also some corridors which one has to take to reach the room. The higher the room number, the more of these.
The outside nature and the views are impressive and so close. I saw a rabbit passing by under my window. Hopefully it was part of nature and not escaped from the kitchen.
During daytime the silence can be interrupted by bypassing planes.
Overall it was a nice experience, I'll choose it again if I'll have the opportunity.
In summary, a nice hotel with great food, but avoid room 2 if you prefer peace and quiet
If you prefer a quiet and pieceful landscape instead of the noisy and busy city, stay there!
Our room was furnished with much taste and cozy style (vintage charme). The room was very clean, the bed was comfy. The bathroom was really huge.
The breakfast had a huge variety of food that even the pickiest eater gets satisfied. As well we got fresh to order served omelettes, that were delicious.
The service was very obliging and friendly.
Parking available direcly in front of the hotel.
We definitely recommend this place and will come back again.
