We stayed at this property for close to 3 days while photographing wildlife in western ghats. From a wildlife perspective, the place is pristine and definitely fruitful. We had good sightings of Nilgiri Langur , Lion-tailed Macaques (both outside the property though) and Malabar Giant Squirrels. For the macro lovers, this place has tons of Wayanad bush Frogs & some endemic snakes too. From a property perspective- 1. The rooms are clean and reasonably priced 2. The staff is very polite and ever helpful 3. The food is nicely cooked The only point for improvement could be the fact that the property needs to be careful about guests bringing in pets (dogs/ cats) when they are in a shared house (shared house with separate bedrooms). All-in-all, I traveled to this property with my dad and the property and the hosts definitely went out of their way to make this stay memorable for us as a family vacation. I would definitely recommend the property for wildlife lovers!

Nice place. Easily accessible. Reasonably good road, which can take handle any car. Decent rooms. Excellent food . Nice service. Risk of wild animals crossing to the estate. Need to be careful about bear , during night. Ideal resort for friends and family get together.

Without doubt one of the favorite hotels I stayed during my time in nelliyampathi.Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff, The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this!) and the restaurant supervisor deserves a special thanks. We had two great evenings here, which obviously also added up to the experience. The second day we did a village trekking.I truly enjoyed walking the three of us through the village. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The natural bath on the end was a great way to end the trekking. Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to me.

Reasons to not consider this place 1. Poorly maintained estate 2. Too interior 3. No TV in rooms 4. Lack of scenic views 5. Absence of mobile network 6. Infested with leeches 7. Poor quality of food 8. Suitable for drunkards and plenty of them here. 9. No reception / staff around

We were a group of 10 guys who wanted a nice location to celebrate our friendship and chose this for our get together. The location is absolutely scenic, driving will involve a bit of adventure (SUV is recommended) and the place has no mobile network except BSNL (worked perfect for us as only one of us had BSNL and we didn't even touch our mobiles for 2 full days), food is home cooked type - simple yet healthy and delicious, manager is very friendly. Went for a night Jeep Safari and spotted deers, bisons - the ride was to a peak crossing the estates and forest area. We jus played cricket for the two full days in the area outside the dinning area. There is a badminton play area, trampoline for kids as well. We even spotted a wild boar that crossed the cottage! Would highly recomend for a get together for guys.

We visited the place on the weekend after Christmas, 21 of us which included adults and kids. Getting there might be a problem for some as there is no GPS connectivity but they sent us some directions with photographs so we managed to reach without any hiccups. The place has tea plantations on one side and forests in the back side, the weather was pleasant (18 degrees) during that time. The property has a large bungalow with a large hall, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each bedroom also had a sit out/ balcony. They also have around 4 to 5 rooms which was a few meters away from the bungalow. These were suitable for smaller groups of 3/4 people. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and well maintained with enough beds, sheets, towels and blankets for all of us. The property also has a pond where you can fish, if you catch anything the care takers are happy to cook for you. There is no room service all food is served in a large dining room which had enough tables and chairs to seat 30 to 40 people. All food is cooked by the caretakers so please do not expect exotic stuff but none of us had any complaints with the chicken curry, pork roast, fish curry and fry and appams. They also arranged a bonfire and barbecue for us that all of us enjoyed. The kids enjoyed the trampoline and night safari, although there are elephants and leopards in the jungle we managed to see only boars, deers some wild buffalo, monkeys and large squirrels. As there was no cell phone signal all of us enjoyed the walks in the tea plantation, played games and just had a lot of fun.

Just back from Woodsville. The property is in remote part of Nelliyampathy surrounded by tea estate in the front and reserve forests on other sides. Most of the estate still has a lot of forested areas making it a good place for various sights and sounds. We were lucky to spot a pair of Indian hornbill inside the property along with plenty of malabar squirrels, langurs and wild boar. Unfortunately we did not get the Balcony rooms and had to settle for 2 mini or junior suite for 2 nights. This is an old block basically the workers residence from the past. It contains 4 rooms and one common TV hall. 3 of the rooms are big and one small. The rooms are fairly spacious with a modern washroom. The only downside is the ventilation. One suggestion is to offer 'mesh' on the main door and windows, this would allow people to keep the doors open to allow light and wind and still keep the insects out. The dining section with an open kitchen is a good place to spend time muching and at the same time viewing the greenery. One of main highlights of the stay was the food. Both Clinty and brother Cleetus prepared sumptuous, tasty meals. The lunch items can easily be toned down as no one eat all the stuff prepared. The night stay at first was a bit creepy as we had the whole block to ourself plus no network or intercoms. Next day the experienced estate manager Ranjan allayed all fears. He was eveready to take us on treks. For kids there is a trampoline, badminton (take your own shuttle cocks) and archery. You can spend a lot of time just walking inside the estate trails or the nearby tea gardens. More seating benches can be provided around the estate to sit and relax. Overall it was 2 good unconnected days spent. Couple of other suggestions: - Rooms can be cleaned up faster and offered as as upgrade with increased rates. - There were some people trespassing from the smaller neighboring resort from behind.

had booked the stay for 2days/nights and .the manager had contacted us enroute to ask about our arrival and also our lunch requirements..limited choices, but food is freshly cooked and tasty..Our rooms .. old block at the back end of the property.Mini-suites,4 of them ,newly done .a sitting area ,with a single bed ,then the bedroom proper ,a double bed ,the washroom very clean and functional ,hot water too. last suite a little smaller. a roofed front patio, where you can relax ...Lunch -rice ,veg curries common to all , fish fry on request.Very tasty, home cooked fare. right before us in the open kitchen. mess hall is spacious, housed in a separate building a little away from our block.Evening tea with biscuits .We were warned not to go alone, and not into the deep forest .Often leopards and bears are sighted very close to the property.Wehad planned the night safari for the next night, but had to change our plans. No trekking next morning as Mr Ranjan was indisposed ..so thought of checking out next day after breakfast..Also a big thanks to MrPaul for arranging the night safari at such short notice for that night.real adventure, , the jeep ride,a lot of off-roading ,sighting deer and rabbits and finally to .Seetharkund view point.. Awesome view...The safari is 2hours from 6.30 to 8.30. Dinner .hot chappathies ,chicken curry ,vegetable stew..Fresh hot milk . . I an ideal weekend location to unwind, not touristy. loved our stay there. Highly recommended for family and friends..

We are a couple travelling globally and stay in places away from the crowd and noise of touristy locations. This place came to our notice and opted for after seeing the good reviews. We reached there driving our own SUV and the short length of plantation road was easy. We booked the balcony room as suggested by Mr. Paul, the Manager and found that's the right choice. The room is spic and span, bath room spacious and modern. The balcony is very spacious and offers a wide view of tall trees around. One can relax sitting there for hours.. The trekking to one of the hills was guided by Mr. Ranjan who is a veteran and has deep knowledge of the jungles. On our trek we encountered a pack of wolves, may be a dozen blocking our trail on our climb down. But Ranjan told they won't harm us. On making some noise they receded one by one. The food prepared inhouse was very tasty and reasonably priced. Night can be scary if one is a city dweller and not used to sounds of wilderness. We enjoyed the same thoroughly as we were the lone residents that night! Suggest to spend 2 days there as one day is too short to cover the locations and relax. Hope to visit again next year.
