The moment you set foot in its grounds, perched high above the wine-town of Frascati, just 30 minutes south of Rome, you sense that this place is old. Built in 1578, in 1773 it became the pope’s. In 1804, it became property of Prince Lucien Bonaparte, the younger brother of Napoleon (who excavated the area and sent truckloads of Roman...

Beautiful view on top or Frascati mountain overlooking the city and the whole Rome area. The hotel is more set up for conventions and business events. The rooms urgently need maintenance. Rooms to the north must have a stunning view - my wife and I got the back which did not offer anything to see except some roofs.

We stayed here for one night and it was a beautiful hotel from the outside and in the main areas, the room was really clean and tidy which was great. The staff where really helpful too. The pool was great and lunch was nice. The views where incredible. The reason I wouldn't give it a high score was some of...

I stay in Frascati every year. This is the first time I've stayed in this Villa. The villa itself is a beautiful building, very grand looking and with beautiful views. Well furnished. Nice and clean. Lots of areas to sit n read or relax. The reception staff are very nice and helpful and were happy to answer any questions we...

We recently returned from our week long holiday here. The hotel is lovely and the views over Rome are beautiful. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very clean throughout. The wi-fi, while free, is fairly intermittent and unreliable. Air conditioning worked well and was controlled from within the room. Meals in the hotel were...

There can be no doubt about it, the views from the hotel are spectacular. But that is then more or less the positive things you can say about the hotel. The outside of the hotel buildings are not well-maintained, the garden is not well-maintained. My room at the 5th floor was small, the wifi was non-existing, the water pressure was...

I've stayed at a few similar Italian villas like this and as long as you know the deal - it's fine. You're paying for the history, location and stories that this building can tell you over the 400 or so years it's stood there. It's a character property which means the owners probably have to spend a ton of cash...

On arrival, I felt I'd hit the jackpot! A beautiful building with superb views over Rome. Sadly, the room could have been in any discount hotel in the world. The bed was sufficient if not brilliant, the toilet didn't work properly, and noise carried a very long way through the corridors making for a rather loud room. Breakfast was a...

Arrived in Frascati without reservations. The town was incredibly busy, with no place to park anywhere. In search for some place less frantic, we decided to try the Grand Hotel. After a lengthy drive up their forested driveway, we arrived at this large villa. We were given a wide choice of rooms, and chose smaller rooms with best view out...
