Enjoyed a lovely meal recently at the Prince of Wales. The staff are so pleasant and the food is lovely. Real cosy feel to the place. Real fires, pet friendly and real food. Best fish and chips in the area.

We attended a family gathering here this weekend... Bar staff were friendly, but then the problems started. We ordered various starters and only one came up as a starter, the others came up at various times ranging from with main meals to after main meals had been started. Two main courses were incorrectly put through by the team there and...

Unbelievable! Have been visiting for many years with friends on our regular nights out. Arrived at 9pm last night and enjoyed a couple of excellent pints as usual. At 10.30 it was time for our last round, but to our horror the young lady behind the bar told us brusquely 'We are now closed'. After confirming that this wasn't a...

We have just spent a fabulous weekend in this delightful, traditional pub. The accommodation is first class in every way-spotlessly clean. We were made feel extremely welcome by the owners and the breakfast ( full English ) was really tasty. A 'must stay' place in the area

I love this place. For me it is exactly how a pub should be. Great atmosphere with no TV, fruit machines or piped music. Just the chance to relax in conversation and enjoy the atmosphere. I didn't eat on this occasion, but in the past the meals I've had have been excellent. Just one negative. Please have a word with...

A pie that is a proper pie, none of this bowl with a lid. Great value, smashing fire and super atmosphere. Really enjoyed the meal, I had home made chicken Kiev, was perfectly cooked and delicious. Definately coming back soon for sure.

Really wonderful selection of beer, always changes every month. Great Food , always served with a smile, and very affordable. A little off the beaten track, but well worth the visit, you will not be disappointed.

I stayed here for one night on business last month after a work colleague recommended the pub to me.I found the accommodation to be clean and for the money (£80.00) to a very high standard. I was joined in the evening by my work colleagues and we drank a couple of locally brewed real ales from Maldon and Brentwood. We...

I stayed overnight here Saturday evening. The pub is a very traditional cosy country pub with real log fire. The room I stayed in was the yellow room. It was warm and very clean and comfortable. The only reason the BUT is in my heading is that the brass bed is extremely squeaky and could do with some oil! The...

Went there yesterday, 22nd September, the girl behind the bar was not welcoming to the point of being unfriendly, she clearly wanted be anywhere other than at work. Maybe she would be more suited to a job stacking shelves at Walmart, this way she wont have to deal with us poor sods.(the general public) Presumably she will sue the charm...
