We understand that The Crown Country Inn changed management within the last 12 months or so and it's great to see that it is providing friendly service, together with excellent beers and reasonably priced tasty food. We've called in for drinks and bars snacks a few times, so decided to try out their evening restaurant menu. We're vegetarians, so chose...

Stayed for one night on business and needing to attend meetings in Ulverston that evening and in Barrow and Walney the next day. Upon arrival we were informed that no food was available that evening as the chef was off sick so ate at the Pig and Whistle in Cartmel which was only 4 miles away. Discovered whilst taking a...

Staff very friendly, rooms nice, but really let down by the food I'm afraid. Dinner was poor, chips over done and taste like the fryer oil hasn't been changed in weeks. No menus provided at breakfast and the full English was terrible. Bacon was like leather, sausage was dry and hash brown with that same old oil taste.

Super friendly pub and B and B. The ambience is great. The food is excellent, the rooms and lovely, all provided by friendly helpful staff. The Crown is in a beautiful quiet hamlet in the Lakes, but close to everything. Highly recommend and thanks to all the great staff!

Fantastic food, fabulous service and a beautiful setting. Recommended by our b&b it was worth the walk. They managed to fit us in, even though they were busy and took the food order while we waited for our table to minimise the wait. Lovely menu and delicious wine! Well worth a visit. Garlic mushrooms are delicious!!!!

Staff are so friendly here. We received an incredibly warm welcome, happy to have a laugh and talk us through the beers and some of the thing on the menu. They even gave us some chocolate hearts at the end of our dinner! A dog friendly pub - they were really sweet with our dog and made sure he had...

My family & I spent a very pleasant evening here just after Christmas. The food is excellent- always nice to find a chef who can cook a 'blue' steak properly. The staff are friendly & went out of there way to keep our two year old son entertained. The prices are The decor was fresh but with old world touches...

Stayed for two nights bed and breakfast and dined on the first night. The web site gave good reviews and looked really good. We were shown to the room which was small but looked ok at first but not what we expected for the price paid. There were cobwebs around the light shades and on the ceiling. The mattress was...
