We were at Yoksum in the last week of Decemeber. It was pretty cold particularly at night. But weather was wonderful. The sky was clear. We could clearly see the galaxy , the milky way from the roof of Red Palace Hotel at night. We booked the hotel from kolkata through email by remitting the money through online transfer. Hotel will arrange for transportation. It will charge 6000-6500 for SUV for pick up and drop from Bagdogra/Siliguri .

There are 2 negative points 1) The hotel oes not have a lift and lower floor rooms do not have a good view. 2) The road that leads to the hotel from the main road is very steep uphill and bumpy. Hence, the hotel is not suggested for elderly people or people who cannot climb up and down.

The rooms are quite spacious with TV . They will provide room heater if required. 24 hrs hot and cold water is available. The place is very serene and calm. The food available is very limited and basic. Not much variety is available. However, the quality is good. There are though few nearby small restaurants which also serve good food. There is no bar in the hotel but one can get liquor from nearby shops which is just downhill on the main road. The price they charge is also reasonable.

The behaviour of the staffs are good and they are cooperative. Room rents are reasonable. Brekfast is complimentary with very limited menu. There is a big terrace on the top floor where you can sit and enjoy the serene beauty of nature in green mountains all around. Kabru peak is visible from the bed of the top floor room. Dzongri-Goechala trek can be done from Yoksum. This hotel is very good for a peaceful stay amidst nature for 2 or 3 days.

I stayed here for three nights in early June'22.

This hotel is best suited if you are looking for spending some time away from the crowd and noise. In the mornings and sometimes throughout the day, one can hear various birds chirping and the other sounds of nature. It is a beautiful experience. It was already raining when we reached Yuksom, and found the mountains very fresh and green with the rain having washed the trees all around. My primary agenda wasn't tourism and so I perfectly enjoyed my stay in the room enjoying the rain outside. Rainfall in the mountains can be beautiful.

The services are excellent and the staff is very polite & courteous. Pawan ji (the gentleman who served us with food) took very good care of us. We requested for a car to pick us up at the Bagdogra airport and Mr Mangal who drives a WagonR was sent to receive us. He is a very kind and polite gentleman and we absolutely loved the services and are thankful to Red Palace for assigning him to our duty.

The restaurant is awesome and serves various Sikkimese, Chinese and Indian cuisine. One should try out the locally brewed wine (we tried the Kiwi wine and loved it). The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained with nice flower gardens. The rooms are spacious and overlooking the mountains. They are well equipped with electric kettle and tea and coffee and milk powder etc for you to make yourself a few cups of hot beverage. This was particularly helpful for us. The room are very tastefully furnished and set with sofas and chairs to relax. The bathrooms come with a bathtub (at least my room had one, not sure of the others) and with a geyser so that there is no problem with getting hot water. There however are frequent power cuts in Yuksom and I am not sure if the generator can help in operating the geysers or not. The open rooftop on the 3rd floor is an excellent place to sit & relax and gaze out to the mountains. I was very fortunate that amidst all this rain, I was still granted a view of the Kabru South and Kabru North peaks, from the hotel itself.

A couple of areas where improvements can be had:
1. Credit cards are not accepted. Either cash or UPI payments only accepted. It will be good if credit cards can also be accepted.
2. The initial part of the approach road is very broken and it is quite a struggle even for the cars like WagonR / Alto to climb the broken rocky road. I will request the hotel management to please take it up with the appropriate authorities (most likely forest department) to get the approach road metalled. This is the only reason why I am giving 4 stars, else I would have given full 5 stars to this place.

Had initially planned to stay two days, but extended for a third day and even then didn't feel like leaving.
Karma and Sonam, who manage the hotel are extremely hospitable and helpful - in fact they are genuinely very nice people. They ensured that my stay was not just very comfortable but felt like home.
The room was comfortable with large windows on two sides looking out to the surrounding hills. From one window I could see Pelling and the Buddha statue there.
Food was fresh and tasty. I also enjoyed having the Tongba - a traditional Sikkimese alcoholic drink.
The hotel is up a slope and about 5 minutes walk from the market, in a peaceful and somewhat secluded environment.

I stayed at hotel Red Palace, Yuksom with family for 2 nights and it was a fantastic experience overall.

It's a classy hotel amidst beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious with all necessary amenities, the food was super tasty with huge variety (we'd opted for a package with breakfast + dinner) and staff is polite and attentive.

We loved the hospitality by the owner and staff. I strongly recommend this place for a very comfortable stay in Yuksom. We are also looking forward for our next visit to hotel Red Palace.

We stayed in Red Palace for 3 nights. As August is off season, we had the place to ourselves. We had traveled all the way to Yuksom for peace and tranquility, Red Palace was the perfect place for this. It is a bit uphill & you have to take a cobbled road to get there (cars can go up). We had the best of views, so good that we didn’t want to leave. The staff, mainly Karma & Pema were extremely helpful. Thanks to Sonam for having handled all our queries and booking so well. During off season, chefs in most hotels are on leave, it was the same here & it was communicated to us in advance. They arranged a very healthy, hearty & delicious Sikkimese thali for dinners. The staff was quick in addressing any concerns or requests. We look forward to coming here again. Hope the tranquility persists!

It is a quiet and serene hotel tucked away in a forest ! Sonam and Karma did everything to ensure that my stay was comfortable. They'll even organise a paid barbecue if one wants. Bathroom amenities and food options as such are limited. But for a mid range property, whatever they are able to provide is really great.

We stayed for 2 nights as family in the suite room of this hotel. Sonam ma'am's attitude towards customer service is excellent. She helped us in all possible ways to get a car for our onward journey. Though the food quality is average but the service is very good by Pavan. Hotel is very clean and well maintained.

It was while going towards the trekking of Dzongri and coming back we altogether stayed there for 3 nights. The location, the staff, the food, room condition all were excellent. The best part of it is the attached balcony with a wide view of the mountains. Would love to revisit again.
