Detailed Reviews
The hospitality by Raju and the chef along with the family was fantastic. We were the only family at the resort and enjoyed our stay fully. Raju was very helpful in customizing the food menu, camp fire and the barbecue. We created wonderful memories, which matters the most to me. The rooms were very clean and the resort well maintained.
There are hammocks at multiple places and laid out to cater to different groups. I was also suprised that we had LTE(Airtel) around 8MBPS speed and was able to attend impromptu office meetings as well ( unforutnately :( ).
We stayed here for 2 days and a night and loved the hospitality. We were very temped to extend our stay here, but our stay at other places were already booked and could not extend unfortunately. But will return back for sure.

Wonderful experience. We went on a 3 day trip to the place. It was a wonderful experience.Silent and beautiful place within the midst of the forest. Stayed as a group, actually we planned to be there for one night only but it went on for 3 days and nights. Cottages are attractive. Good hospitality. I strongly recommend this place for wildlife/nature lovers. Very clean and fresh air throughout the day, amazing views, natural farmlands, pretty natural neighbourhoods. Would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone who wants a break from the busy city life.

Had an excellent trip to Mudumalai last week and stay in Greenwoods Nature Camp. Me and my family members planned for 2 day trip to Ooty and Mudumalai. First day we did the booking in Greenwoods Nature Camp in Mudumalai and second day planned to go to Ooty. We reached Mudumalai around 2PM. The place is compact and rustic, close to nature. The hospitality was excellent and food was good. The next day morning, we requested for a trekking and the experience was terriffic. We spotted 2 bisons and an elephant during trek. The guide was too good and had showed his experience. Overall enjoyed the stay amidst the Mudumalai jungle in Greenwoods. Will recommend this place.

We went to this place this August (8/15/2012) with my family and parents. During my visit to India. Greenwoods was referred to us from one of my friend in Bangalore and after checking out the reviews, I wanted to check it out. Was definitely worth it.
Everything from the start of the booking to the end, everything was smooth and well organized. The staffs and organizers were very friendly and accomdative.
We all liked the food very much, was more like homemade style. Mariappan (cook/caretaker) was able to make some special orders for us and matched the spicy level to our taste.
Also the guide (I think he is Vinay, if I remember correctly) was very friendly and informative. He took us for an early morning trekking near by in to the nearby shallow forest through the Mollapalli village. We enjoyed the nature to its best.
Overall the trip was very enjoyable. Would definitely visit this place again, and recommend anyone who would like to make a short weekend trip.

I was there with family and kids last week. The resort is a small arrangement where they made some cloth tents and attached a door and a bathroom. There was no toiletries provided. We opted for the bbq and it was nice. The whole property is bit small and hence it might feel little congested. We should opt for their food as per the plan and they charge 700 bucks per head for the day. Home made and average.

I visited Greenwood over the last weekend with my office colleagues - 10 of us.
We were ther efrom Saturday morning till Sunday morning.
I had started my interaction with them a few months back but hte trip did not materialise. But then it finally took off on 4-5 May 2013.
The default checkin time practised by all the resorts in this segment is a pain in hte neck - 12 pm to 11 am. All of them should seriously consider changing it to 2 full days instead of half today and haf tomorrow concept.
Anyway let me continue. I had discussed with their front ofice contact Mrs Sam regarding te booking etc. She was always helpful, courteous and willing ot make adjustments for our group.
I had asked the resort to provide us breakfast on Saturday morning - we started from Bangalore on Friday night.. We reached there around 7 am. Rooms were ready for us!!!
Breakfast was fantastic!!!! Nothing was left in hte end!!!! After breakfast we tok off to Pykara lake whic his near Ooty . It was an uphill drive and really enjoyable. It was quite cool even though its May!!!!. The lake was a disappointment as it was nearly dried up due ot lack of water. But my gues is when full it would pretty good sizer lake - Not to be missed.
Came back for lunch by 2 PM and it was good
Breakfast on Saturday - Idli , vada, sambar, chutney, pongal
Lunch - rice sambar chicken curry, raita, cabbage, kheer, chapati
Dinner - Veg pulao, raita, chapati, chana curry etc
Sunday breakfast - Idli, masala vada, upma sambar chutney
coffee tea etc are default..
Alcohol and smoking are not allowed like any resort .
Place is very clean and well kept. We had booked a European cottage wich had 6 bunker beds and 2 extra mattersses within the room . The other room was a Swiss tent . Toilets were clean and well maintained. Blankets and towels were provided.
They had arranged for a safari with their own jeeps at night (7 PM onwards) this takes about 2 hours.
Important :- No resort is allowed to take their vehicles into the forest anywhere. Only forest dept vehicles are allowed to enter the forest areas. Every resort runs their safaris on the peripheral road of hte forest.
OVERALL A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE!!!!!
NOTE:- No swimming pool or fitness centre

After reading reviews, we tried this place. And we were pleased with this place.
We went to green woods earlier this month with the family. Liked the hospitality and the food. Our kids enjoyed the sitout area from where we spotted several deers. The trekking in the morning was good. Also spotted a red dog (may be a fox ?) preying a deer. Enjoyed the nature very much and so the safari.
We liked the place so much that infact we even cancelled the ooty trip and stayed here.

When we reached Greenwoods Nature Camp, we thought we were accommodated opposite a football field and the forest did not seem so. The morning was spent identifying birds. A water tank at the rear of this property doubles as a machan and if you are lucky (as I was), you can see malabar Giant Squirells and also see Eagles (Serpant Eagle, Crested Hawk Eagle which come to prey on the Giant Squirells.
A waterfall far away in the hills can be seen from the resort. This place is a treat to your eyes.
Towards evening, we heard deer alarm calls a distance away and we thought to ourselves, had we been there in a jeep, we could've spotted a tiger or a leopard.
As night falls, the rear of the resort where the forest begins comes to life. We heard alarm calls of monkeys and we were told that leopard and tiger presence here is common. I believe it since I have been to Mudumalai earlier too.
Trekking opportunities are available. The local guide is a tribal who knows the forest well and just him and me went for a trek which lasted for about 3 hours. We experienced river crossing on foot, dense to very dense forest and also a rotten meat stink which probably indicated a kill of some sort.
On our return, we realised we had been bitten by ticks which itch even to date.
Accommodation facility are very good. Food is awesome and is cooked by a family of 3 who stay there. The cooks are very loving and caring and serve food with a good heart. All that matters in a holiday is good food, good stay, good natural ambience all of which Greenwoods Nature Camp provides.

We opted for this resort for our visit to Mudumalai. After reading all the reviews I was a bit suspicious on how a nature camp can be so good. All I can say is that we had a really comfortable 2 night stay, warm and friendly hospitality, very good value for money, great food and good surroundings and views. All the cottages in the camp was full and had very good neighbours except for one group who checked in late in the night and was arguing and being very unreasonable with the staffs.
We visited Mudumalai and Ooty for 3 day and were glad to get accommodation just a week before our trip. The primary purpose was to get some peace and quietness.
On the first day it rained very heavily in evening and was surprised to see such heavy showers in summer.
The safari was very good and the driver was experienced and was able to spot animals in pitch darkness. We were lucky to see Bisons, Elephants, Deer, Mongoose and a fat sloth bear.
Overall very happy with the place and stay. Food was homely and tasty. Price was reasonable.
(Tamil Nadu taste). The hospitality extended to us was good.
