This resort offers a very good view of the waterfall (from restaurant and from some of the rooms) and a close view of the river from the private villas. We stayed at the peak of rainy season, when the waterfall was at its best display. The staff was really friendly and courteous. The check in was quick and smooth, thanks to Midhu and team!. Even the resort manager was friendly and took time to come over and talk to us.
The housekeeping staff was very prompt and helpful. The Resort maintained Covid Protocol.
The best part was the food- they made excellent delicious dishes, and also surprised us with add ons ,on the house! Special thanks to Chefs Sijo (and Anoop I guess his name was) who took time to come to our table and have a hearty conversation. The water level was dangerously high as Dams in the upper areas were open and hence we were not allowed access to the river from the hotel. But there is a nearby area on the road side, where one could enter the river, safely (Rock-paved / rock filled access, the typical scene of Athirappilly and Vazhachal).
Best view of waterfall is from the upper rooms (Delux Rooms they are called I guess). Villa/Cottage with private pool offers best view of the river (no view of waterfall). The private pool attached to the cottage is small and shallow, you can't really swim in that, but the water is kept in good condition.
There are some near by restaurants and hotels which offer cheaper but reasonable local food.

Our visit was planned by a short notice. Even though, we got a good room with a beautiful view of waterfall. 5 stars!! Rooms were spacious, as we 4 stayed conmfortably in. Resort staff is well mannered, and very helpful. They looked into every minute detail. Specially focussed on our safety and health. The place was very well maintained, taking into account covid conditions, they have provided sanitisers at every corner. They well managed to avoid crowding at dining hall. The menu was balanced and choosen well, food was tasty. Even the lunch and dinner I found worth. The lawn and garden facing the river is well maintained.It is very pleasant in the morning and relaxing in the evening. The man made water fall in the garden induces the right Family/couples. Children could happily play there. It will be a nice gathering place if u are a big group. They have provided bike ( bicycles) for those who like riding. Me and my 17 yr old enjoyed morning ride. The bike is well maintained and the safety head wear is provided (sanitised). There are guided trekking trips organised i heard. Afterall we got more than what we expected. The main pool was closed due to covid. But there are suits with mini pools which is worth. Night we could sleep listening to the flowing river. Mr. Sanath (Manager) and his crew was helpful. This was out first trip since lockdown began, so we were really looking forward to it. We stayed for 3 nights in November and had an extremely peaceful and relaxing time, exactly what we had hoped for. Awesome location - you can see the falls from the restaurant and also from some of the rooms higher up. This is a very well maintained property and they were also following strict guidelines as required by the covid situation.
We are not very familiar with Kerala cuisine so we were not sure of what to order for our first dinner. Shayan from the restaurant staff, volunteered to get us the right stuff. After that dinner, we never looked at any menu card throughout our stay. We just told Shayan to bring us whatever he wanted. A special shout out to Shayan for his awesome service.
As part of our package, we had a corner on the balcony decorated for a candle light dinner and it was the highlight of our trip, mainly because of the great service again from Shayan and awesome food that he brought us.
Overall food at the resort is superb and even the breakfast everyday was a delectable spread of homely and tasty food.
I would love to be back at the resort once the covid situation improves. This time around obviously the swimming pool and other amenities were locked up, and it would be great to be back and enjoy the property even more than what we did on this visit.

It was evidently visible throughout the resort that the management took sanitisation and cleanliness on utmost priority. During this time, it gave us great confidence to stay at the resort. All the staffs were warm welcoming and hassle-free check-in added to the overall experience. The Athirapilly waterfall view from the lobby is breathtaking. The food was delicious at a reasonable price. I would recommend ordering food before 10 pm as the kitchen closes by that time.
We took the Pool Villas and the rooms were spacious and quite pleasing. Private dining beside the river and campfire made our night at the resort quite memorable. Private pools in the villas are of small size but if you want to take a swim, the resort provides a big pool with a waterfall view.
The overall experience was fantastic and i would recommend Samroha for any type of guests.

First time in this beautiful area, just one hr from Kochi airport! Must be promoted for tourism - a short one or two nights stay or even a longer one - untouched natural beauty!
The resort is nicely built, at great location, great view of the famous Athirapally waterfalls!
Sometime this basic setting goes waste if the team at resort disappoints guests or other way around is they can enhance the experience with their service.
I am pleased to say the Team needs great applause, & Team is what leadership is. Under the able leadership of smart girl Himadri & a seasoned veteran Sibeesh. The whole team including head chef left no stone unturned to make sure we were comfortable, including maintenance team! So congratulations to corporate management for choosing right people.
I am an honest strong critic, i am not going into small small things which a professionally well trained staff should be doing, but who needs professionalism at such a serene short peaceful break, am discounting it for now because of their attitude, attitude deserve 100/100! 😊

We stayed here this weekend with my wife and chid. The resort is located very close to Athirappilly waterfalls. The water fall can be seen from the Restaurant and Waterfall view rooms. The rooms have all the needed amenities. The staff are professional and act pro actively. Parking space can easily accommodate 10-20 cars. The restaurant has an amazing view of the Athirappilly water falls. You can dine inside the restaurant or on the balcony. Food is served as Buffet. Food can be perceived as a bit pricey but considering the location of the hotel and all the amenities the pricing is fair. The resort arranged even a small concert during dinner. There a pool on the first floor. Quite child friendly. There's an area for children in the pool. If you want a private pool you can take the river facing villa. Probably for honey moon couples. There are bicycles here you can ride. The river can be accessed from the resort.
So in short it's one of the best places to stay near Athirappilly falls, if you are willing to spend that extra amount of money. And it's worth it.

This was a last minute booking but still got a good deal. We were able to reach there only by 7ish in the night but the hotel staff called us and enquired about our whereabouts which left a very good impression in us. Once we reached, we were welcomed by taking our Aarti and applying Chandan tikka! The vibe they’ve created around the property is so positive and calming with constant hymns / relaxing sounds playing in the background. My car was valeted , luggage were taken care! Once we checked in we were personally escorted till the room by the guest relationship manager along with a tour of the property! Room was of good size, clean, pristine and kid friendly as they had a small play area indoor and outdoors . Room service was prompt and they even sterilized our child’s bottles. After checking in, they share menus and other details via what’s app which was very handy. Any queries/ support we can message them in what’s app and they support which felt new for us! Another thing we liked was that they shared with us a guest experience list which gave us a good reference for us to plan our day! They even support by arranging transport at an extra cost! The property’s location was so beautiful as it was situated on the banks of Chalakkudy river with a private access to it. Athirapilly falls was visible from the property. The restaurant had a good view of the river and the falls and covered various cuisines which mostly tasted good but they specialize in South Indian more. Swimming pool was neat and hygiene with separate shower room and lockers. The view from the pool is also breathtaking. Above all, it’s the staff and their service made our day! We are definitely coming again.

It was a pleasure staying at Samroha Resort Athirpalli.We had a 3 night stay at this resort and were very satisfied with every aspect of this resort. The staff were very approachable and helpful. The receptionists Midhu and Rose were very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the nearby places that we could visit .The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. The location of our room was perfect as we could view the waterfall and feel the cool breeze. The scenary was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a peaceful environment. Breakfast and dinner was substantial and suited all tastes. Overall the experience was excellent and enjoyed a lot. We would stay here again and recommend others too.

The best resort we have ever privileged enough to stay, building is planned well to ensure a good view from all the rooms, high quality amenities and a decent space in room, front desk and kitchen staffs are extremely helpful to make us comfortable. They got enough activities to engage with.
Breakfast is sumptuous, and they serve multi cuisine lunch and dinner, decently priced.
Thanks chef Sijo, Nithin, Cassia, Pramod, Ratheesh and all staffs to make our family comfortable.
