This is a run down place with no passion or love at display by the people who run it. The management, front office and room service staff are disinterested and disengaged. The rooms are dilapidated with rusting fixtures, cracked walls, broken flushes and stained floors. Our sheets were not changed after the previous guest checked out. The blankets were smelling. We were taken for a birdwatching walk and the naturalist couldn't name a single bird. For the price they charge, this is absolutely the lowest form of hospitality. The only saving grace was the food and kitchen. And to some extent the property and it's surroundings. The folks serving us and the chef managed to redeem the otherwise poor experience, with some great attitude and reasonably decent meals. We checked out a day earlier than had booked, and do not plan to ever return to windflower tusker trails. Attaching a few pictures that provide a preview of the property.…
The windflower bandipur is excellent place to stay. The rooms are huge and nice. It is in the midst of the jungle and easy to commute to safari. The staff are good. The chef Mr Mahesh, Mr shivu , the food and beverage team, all were excellent in service. The spa is a special place with the spa team well trained. Overall great experience.
We visited the resort in a group of 10 and the food was very good (chef Mahesh) and the room was very clean and spacious (Siddaraju and team). The behavior of the staff was very polite and all of them were very apprachable.
I had been in windflower resorts in Pondicherry and it was an awesome experience altogether. I had blindly booked the Bandipur property expecting the same. However, it was very poorly maintained as the rooms were very dusty, unclean, bathrooms unclean, broken lamps, unclean linens, dusty tables (as if not cleaned for years). Overall it was not a nice stay as the rooms were not well maintained and so just spent a night . Food was average and hospitability was good but it makes no sense when the rooms are not well maintained. Regards, KC
This property has some great people which make it more great. I would like to mention a few names - Siddhraj and team for their outstanding services Chef mahesh for his very delicious food and he is ever ready to feed you what you want, very nice menu, he even recommended me for some safari. Overall very good will come again for sure.
It was excellent experience of stay at this resort. Everything was perfect be food, rooms, natural ambiance, staff cooperation and support. Food was excellent and special thanks to Siddharju -Manager and team, and Mahesh- chef who would cook the dish as per your choice and take special care. I highly recommend this resort to spend family time.
Beautiful wildlife resort at Bandipur...the cottages were awesome very neatly kept and just without all the plastics which is very much required...the backup power supply and security is very good especially in jungle areas. The highlight was the food...Siddaraju and team were awesome and the food was extremely healthy fresh and delicious...there was so much variety and the staff went out of their way to cater to all the needs... Also the jungle safari was well organised.. All in all a great wildlife resort..
This resort is among the top ones in Bandipur ( as per the Internet rankings) and therefore has a premium on the room rates when you try booking. Well, the property is situated in Mangala village, which is in the buffer zone of the reserve and hence in close proximity to wildlife. That said, this property looks like it has little going for it, what with a complete lack of professional touch and and finesse that is a must have for the discerning traveller. Right from the hotel signboard, which is a small board hanging at the entrance, to the dysfuntional gate and the uneven parking lot, it gives a sence of negativity from the word go. The entrance lobby is frugal, with the reception staff looking like anything but that. We had booked cottages and thats what is the big surprise. The cottages are located outside of the resort, across the road, in a makeshift area which is devoid of any amenities or even a proper access road. I later learnt that the resort and the cottage area are owned by 2 different sets of folks but managed by the Windflower group. What that means is that for everything, like meals, recreation and pool, you will need to take your car from the cottage and get to the resort. Hence my recommendation to anyone planning to book a stay is to choose a suite and not a cottage, as the suite rooms are located within the resort. The resort is pretty dry, with no landscaping or plants or manicured lawns where the kids can play. The only trees next to the dining area are small and completed devoid of leaves, possibly because of approaching summer. Even the fallen leaves have not been removed for a long time. The ambience is not what you would expect for the price you pay. However, a few things definitely stand out and I need to mention those. 1) The food is really nice (thanks to chef Mahesh) and the dining staff are really on their toes serving you and making you feel comfortable. Most of the items that were getting over were replenished in quick time. The live counter is really useful. 2) The guide Rajesh who took us on the bird watching tour in the morning ( 7 15 to 8 15 am) is amazing. He has a wealth of knowledge about the birds and the surroundings and can talk fluently in multiple languages. The house keeping staff and their supervisor Mahadev , who manage the cottages work hard but need some professional training to serve the needs of the customers well. They had to be told multiple times for the extra beds to be laid out, for which we had paid in the package already. Besides, the cottages themselves need a makeover as they have furniture and upholstery thats atleast a couple of decades old and not tastefully done nor kept clean. My verdict on this property is that its not worth the rate they are quoting. You will not get the satisfaction of staying in a premium property as except for food, there is nothing else going for this place. Pls look for better alternatives.…
Mr Siddaraju and team were really helpful. Staff are extremely friendly and they make sure their customers have a good stay. Food was extremely good. They made baby food for my daughter when asked. We had one of the best experience here in Windflower resorts Bandipur. A must place to visit.
Excellent food service with very delicious food. Thank you Chef Mahesh, Chef Gyanaranjayan and Sidhraj F&B manager. Very nice hospitality with fast room service. Very nice atmosphere near your cottage.
