the road to reach the resort is pathetic only good for off road vechiles almost 4+km in hills to drive from main road, it's fully off road. they do have jeep to pick you from main road (if you come by your own vechile then parking charge per nite is 200extra) the jeep per trip 500Rs cost either drop or pickup. if you want two way then 1000 they mentioned natural swimming pool but you can't even get inside seems its like normal hindu temple kullam / pond fully dirty and greeny feels very risky that all the place covered with litches the entire resort is fully occupied with litches you have to be bear with that. you will be the luckiest person that if you didn't get a bite from them. food is overall average, breakfast is ok and dinner is average. very slow service they will not refill, will make you wait. if you want some snacks for your drinks then it's very costly for side dish that too they will provide after you finish your drinks rooms are good and bathroom are very huge and neat that is really good. one bad part is no privacy between rooms if you speak other room person can hear you clearly. should be very careful, either you have to book private cottage instead like single room for couples. you can go a short truckking, top to that hill by 10mins walk from resort, it's only good option I felt. No big entertainment inside the resort as mentioned by them. The amount you paid is not worth for it. You can come and stay for a day or two without going outside by simply sit relax sleep and move out.…
The way to this resort was really bad that even if it was heaven on the other side, I wouldn't go. All the best if you are planning to go there in a hatchback. Now let's talk about the resort after that hectic journey. The rooms had no basic amenities like a geyser, water bottle (which they justified by saying they don't use plastic), kettle, toiletries etc. The rooms were dirty with surrounded by leaches and snails. We checked-in at 12 midnight. We requested for a clean room, the hotel staff replied that that's the only room they have and they can not do a room cleaning coz all the staff has left. Breakfast buffet was just a joke. They had dosa, poori and bread. That's all. The stay was boring as hell. All of these experiences with a high price tag made the visit a nightmare. To call it a resort is shaming other resorts.…
To begin with this is a beautiful place to be. From the main Wayanad - Kozhikode road or NH 766, (formerly NH212) this place is a nice 3.6 kilometres ride up the hill. The property was sparsely populated, which was indeed a breather during the pandemic. The rooms are spacious. Some of the cottages have spacious sitouts while ours was just perfect for an individual to relax, read, listen to music or just spend some quiet me-time. I would look for another opportunity to spend some more time at this resort.
Stayed there for two days and one night. Had trekking, games, stream walk and lots of fun. Keep an eye on leeches during trekking and stream walk. The food was fantastic. If you feel to give a pause to your mechanical life then this place will help you.
If you are a lover of nature, heritage and a calm holiday or weekend, Rain Country Resort is the best place I would say. Surrounded by the green and misty hills of Western Ghats, the resort is located very near to Vythiri and can be accessed with your car (I personally drove) or a hired jeep or taxi. One of the best and unique features of Rain Country is the presence of a natural pond inside the premises, unlike any other resorts in Wayanad. Also, a natural stream, originating from the forest, runs through the property. If you like short morning trekking, you can trek to the top of the hill, that is also inside the property. The view of raising the sun from the misty hills is an amazing view that you will never forget. 360-degree view of green hills and clouds from the top point is mind-blowing. Coming to the cottages, they are constructed in a traditional Kerala style, mostly with wood. The hospitality team including housekeeping, guest service, room service, restaurant, etc. Were very helpful and their service was excellent. So just like the name of the property- Rain Country, visit the property to enjoy the monsoon rains, heritage, and nature.…
This place is in the interior of the Wayanad jungle, which makes it quite a drive from main road. But the hotel staff is very generous, they offer to pick you up from airport/ railway station. Once you reach there, its a heavenly place to be in. They have luxurious comfortable villas for families and couples. There is also a natural pool inside the place. Food is traditional Kerela food. They also have a game zone and garden for kids. Once you are in this place, there is literally no need to leave it,they have all facilities inside and you can just stay there for a week or so. A perfect getaway from city madness and totally in nature's lap. Must visit.
We were two couples and stayed at this resort for 2 nights. The cottages have an ancient Kerala style with woodwork and thus ensures the room is cool even without A/C. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms we're kept very clean. The food served was tasty and there were multiple options. They have a natural pool where you can get a fish spa for free! They are also equipped with carrom, table tennis( though not all the bats were in good condition) and badminton. There is a view point above the resort within 1 km walk which gives you a short trek experience. It rained when we were there and it was beautiful. If you really love nature and are not looking for a very fancy place, then this is for you. They can also arrange Jeep service for your day trips. The road to resort has a 4km last leg from the main road which is motorable but very narrow. The manager Joseph and the staff ensured that we enjoyed the stay to our satisfaction.…
Its a very earthy, homely and friendly resorts. Experience a slice of kerala in this eco friendly resort. The rooms are scattered and are not in one level- this may be taken into account for people with mobility issues otherwise the resorts is at its best during Monsoons and food is authentically regional.
Didn't even get to the staying part in this place because when I called for information, the "manager" was so unhelpful I had no interest in any further proceedings. Asked for a late check-out, to which he said (firstly speaking to me like I was retarded) Madame do you speak kannada (you're in Wayanad, do you speak Malayalam?) And then said he could not help me. So putting off in the initial request for basic information, I can only imagine how terrible a stay there would have been!
Kerala is ofcourse beautiful, but beauty of this resort is beyond my imagination ! I booked this resort 2 days prior to my visit, as other good resorts were occupied. Though there were few -ve comments on the road to this resort but after seeing few positive reviews & pics on trip advisor I finally booked this one. The road ( almost 4km ) to this resort is really not good, its very narrow & rocky. I was literally crying that why I booked this resort aftee seeing many -ve reviews on the road. As going back was not possible on that narrow road, so we were bound to go to the top. But.. after reaching on the top by seeing the beauty of the resort & hospitality of the staffs ( espicially the Manager Mr Devanand ) my mind got changed. They served us hot Tea with onion pakodas. Then we went to the room. Room was good with basic wooden furniture ( Please dont expect a 5* hotel room here ). Then Devanand took us & other 2-3 couples to the hill top. The view from the top was amezing. Then we came back to the resort, it was full of clouds, i felt like i was walking inside clouds. Night it was so dark but so calm & pleasant. You can hear wild animals roaring sound. Dinner was really good. Again a very pleasant morning, we went to the hill top again ( hardly half km walk from the resort). After breakfast we started for the dam & chembra peak. Then my mood again got changed.. how to go down.. again i need to cross the road :( but believe me 2nd day i really enjoyed the drive. Our driver was well acquinted with that road just in 1 day & he told with other drivers & hotel staffs they came down ( by crossing the road) at 3am to see animals. He really drove carefully & i enjoyed the view. So in 3 days we crossed the same road almost 7 times. 1st time i cried, but rest 6 times i really enjoyed the view & tea garden. It was really a very pleasant stay there and Mr Devanand ( since the day i booked this resort till the last day he was guiding us ). So many thanks to Mr Devanand to make our trip a memorable trip. I will defenitely go this this place again. But one suggestion : if all the resorts on the top together will place few pillars on the road side, then the journey will be more safe. …
