My wife and I had stayed at Hotel Uma Residency on 18th and 19th Feb during my visit to Mayiladuthurai for a colleague's wedding. The first point that impressed me about the place was its cleanliness of the rooms followed by the politeness of the staff and the down to earth nature of it's owner Mr Rangarajan. We had arrived late and were originally referred to hotel Aadhi which is directly opposite to Hotel Uma Residency. Upon entry the desk clerk seemed least hit interested in engaging with us and seemed to be caught up with his own agenda. We left immediately from there and found Hotel Uma Residency quite by chance. Upon approaching them, we were met by a really friendly receptionist. He had noticed we were tired from the journey and quickly checked the room status. Upon realizing that all the rooms were booked from the next morning, he told us he will make arrangements for us to rest for that night and he will do his best to make alternate arrangements for tomorrow. He immediately followed this up by speaking with the owner, Mr Rangarajan who had just arrived there and explained the situation. He immediately offered an alternate room for the next day stating that he does not usually give it out as it unless it's a large booking as it was connected to a mini hall but he assured us that he would make it available for us. He also ensure that we were charged a very nominal amount for the rooms that he gave us overnight and absolutely no charges for the alternate room which he gave us for the next morning onwards. We thanked him and also got some great advice on the sight seeing activities that we could do at Tranquebar and Poompuhar beach. Overall our stay at Hotel Uma Residency was budget friendly, pleasant and the staff and its owner treated us like very special guests and gave us a great experience. Superb
Very nice clean superb budget friendly kind staff Beds are good bed sheets are fresh good coffee served on demand.lift always working. Parking available.power back up is available just like home stay feel what else you need
