Owner - Mayur is not at all cooperative. ( Rude Behaviors )
We booked for 13 people . In the end, we went with 12 guests & we asked the owner- Mayur not to return our money but to adjust to other food, but he didn't even consider it and he looted our 2K extra.
They don't even have a reception place.
While booking, they ask to pay 50 % in advance, which is not refundable if you cancel for any emergency.
I don’t suggest this resort to any kind of group or family. We went there to have fun but this trip ended up being stressful for us. Please don’t visit. It’s not worth your money.
Me and my family had planned to celebrate our Christmas at Mayur Farms, Karjat and made our booking accordingly (25th December, 2021) by paying the stated amount, well in advance. Me and my niece were coordinating with Mr. Mayur and once the booking was done, we were all excited to enjoy our holidays.
This is where the disappointment, arrogance and white lies from Mr. Mayur begin. A day before (24th Dec, 2021) we got a call from Mr. Mayur saying that due to some new Covid norms, they are cancelling our booking and shared an article with us, which in no way mentioned about the restrictions. Upset and irritated, we thought of confirming the same, when we were told that other resorts were operating. When confronted with this information, Mr. Mayur came up with another lie that- the Hotel Management students at his place have disappeared and hence he had to cancel all the bookings.
Fast forward- we booked our stay at another place and somehow managed to get one using our contacts. Out of curiosity, when we were in Karjat we decided to visit Mayur Farms, as we had our doubts with the way Mr. Mayur was coming up with a new lie everytime.
To our surpise (or not) Mayur Farms was operating with full capacity. We pretended that we were looking for reservation and we were told by Mr. Harry that it was full on 25th December and we can opt for 26th December. We decided to expose Mayur Farms further and called Mr. Mayur to hear a new lie. Luckily Mr. Mayur had no new lie this time as he was clearly exposed. When we told him about writing Google review, he was arrogant enough to say- "jo karna ha kar lo. go ahead".
So all the best for all the drama you wish to face, when you book a stay in Mayur Farms. Hospitality Industry runs on professionalism, good service and goodwill. Mayur Farms had none!
We enjoyed alot.food is good.service is also good. Safe place to stay.Staff is very very helpful and kind. must must visit specially for stay.
mayur farm gave us such great memories. Thanks mayur farm team.
1. It is on first floor and stairs have no railings. That makes it quite dangerous if you have kids and toddlers around.
2. Getting up you get in to nice big hall with 4 double beds with 4 ceiling fans. And that is all!!
3. For 10 - 12 persons there is one, yes only ONE toilet and WC.
4. No desks are provided. No place to keep your clothes. No hooks or hangers to hang them. No chairs or stools are provided.
5. In spite of big room it has 2 small windows and it makes it very stuffy. It was so humid in the night that we couldnt sleep.
6. Bath area is fitted with small geyser. Capacity is less than 1 lit so no possibility to get even bucket full of warm water. There is wash basin in the bathroom and they have fitted a shelf above the basin. It is fitted in such a way that you can not lower your head against the basin.
Food:
I think most food items; especially chapatis and bhakaris are out sourced. They are cold and dry. They also provide one non veg item. But be aware! have it only once! One from our group at buffet dinner had gone to fetch some chicken masala for second time and she was told that "Madam, there are still more people still to have dinner" (they were suggesting that please do not take more!)
They were very reluctant to provide tea-coffee. Morning tea was served by 7:50 am almost along with breakfast. Tea was served in a plastic throw away cusps. When we insisted then ceramic mugs were brought out.
Property:
This must be 2 or 4 acres of land. Money is spent of designing and construction but architect must be amateur. Or the investors themselves never lived in hotel or farm house. They have made nice roads, well constructed but havent thought at all about car parking area. So cars are parked just one behind another. If first one needs to move; all 5 - 6 guests have to come and reverse the cars to make a way. There is no place in entire property where you can take a car U turn. There are stray dogs in the property.
Only plus: it is clean. Over all cleanliness is maintained. There are no flies.
Summary:
It is best location for a booze party. You booze out full so you do not really know how lousy the food is, how stuffy the rooms are.
I dont know if Karjat is always hot and humid but for me it was terrible experience. Very hot, humid. We had booked non AC dormitory thinking that around monsoon end it would be pleasant. So no night sleep. Lousy food. Frequent power cuts, No toilets (since only one among we 7 adults).
Do not go by the photographs on web site .... no no it is exactly as shown in photos but rest all is terrible. Not recommended.
(Most cell phone providers do not work here. Forget internet!! .... No credit cards accepted. Carry cash. Nearest ATM might be 15km away... not sure though!)
