The erstwhile royal family still living in the palace which is converted to a Hotel. Very limited rooms. The bigger rooms and suites are good. The food is very good ! Staff like Shweta & Bijay to make our stay even more memorable. It’s a beautiful property with evening events like traditional dance and Local hand made artefacts on sale made by local artisans.
It was an extremely mesmerizing stay for me and my family! So many childhood memories were revived as we were surrounded by old world charm. Suites are well equipped with modern amenities. Had an awesome relaxing stay with dip in the pool in the evenings and live entertainment. Food was delicious. Staff was very courteous. I would like to give special mention to Himangshu for making our stay so smooth. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
We four senior citizens made the five hour trip by road to the palace from Kolkata. The stay was wonderful cut off from hustle bustle of city life....room had no TV and there were no newspapers. Food was good so were the rooms.... all five star standard. The USP of the place is in its history and the artifacts photographs strewn around the palace for anyone who care about history. A summarized history of the palace should be place in the rooms for better publicity. The charges are on the higher side but travellers will readily pay for this unique experience of staying in a palace.
This is a living palace converted to a hotel with the erstwhile royal family still living with their big dogs on the upper floor. The property is well kempt and the people are very friendly. The basic rooms are avoidable because they looked more like a slice out of bigger room than a room by themselves. The bigger rooms and suites are good. Food is also good and very tasty. The property has a mango orchard and numerous trees which are very well looked after. Entertainment is an issue since there are no television in the room but wifi is reasonable. All in all a great choice in Baripada.
It was an awesome stay for us ,and an amazing place to stay for people who love old world charm and heritage properties. Since I relate to such things from my childhood it was really amazing to have lots of memories refreshed. Beautiful collection of furniture and artifacts and suite was really well designed, the whole palace was just too perfect. The warmth of owners was like a cherry on the ice cream. Personally I travel world over extensively and have been patronizing the 4/5 stars but this place left a big mark on me and would love to recommend friends and family. Himanshu and manager Zaher were very kind to keep our requests.
