I recently stayed at Nakshatra Holiday Homes for a night and had an excellent experience.
The property is located on the main road, with good parking spaces and a quick walk to the Guhagar Beach.
It offers well equipped, clean and very well maintained cottages at a reasonable price. Food was homely, healthy and yummy. Good, warm service made the stay even more comfy.
P.S. If you are visiting Durgadevi temple at Guhagar then the place is very convenient. You can walk through the property into the temple

We stayed at this place when we visited Durgadevi temple. It is beautiful place. Construction of rooms is like independent villa. It has all rooms named after Nakshtras, like Ashvini, Krutika etc. Rooms are big enough to accommodate 4 people. Food is OK. Main advantage is proximity to the temple. Rooms are clean. However they should pay more attention to cleaning mirrors ! Mirrors are so dirty that you cannot see your face. Similarly, bath towels should not have holes in them !! Overall good place to stay.

We were 4 couples, visiting Guhagar Ratnagiri dis., Maharashtra. Stayed 2 nights, having booked 3 Villas & 4 Bedroom. A very good location, nice hospitality & attentive staff. The only problem faced as there is no Intercom system, requiring to walk to restaurant to order room service. Non-veg food was bit of a problem, mainly due to misunderstandings in order communication.

We stayed at Nakshtra ( Owned and managed by Mr. Khare) at Guhaghar on 22-23rd Oct 2023 for 1 night. I am writing this review since my plans with my family were completely uprooted by the management. This was a common stay point for our family (1/2 of us travelling from Karnataka and the other 1 /2 travelling from Maharashtra). We confirmed the booking for 3 triple occupancy rooms one month ago by paying an advance booking amount which was requested by Mr. Khare and we were in constant communication with him until we reached for check in. Though the check in time was 1pm we reached at 7:30pm after completing our temple visits. We had informed him multiple times priorly that there will be a delay in check in and that we were definitely coming. Turns out, Mr. Khare had already allocated one of the rooms to somebody else. He stated that the party has locked the room and gone out and had a senior citizen with an ankle sprain. We never saw this party or their room throughout our stay. Out of remaining 2 rooms he allocated one which was a double occupancy room and the other one being a triple occupancy. After reaching the resort he kept on saying he canāt do anything about the situation and offered to take one room in neighbouring hotel (which was very ordinary). Essentially, they accepted a double booking for the weekend and tried to cover up the situation by narrating some stories. Since we reached late and were travelling with kids we finally accepted the option since we did not have much to choose from. We did check out the next day morning at 7:30am. Mr Khare dealt with this situation extremely casually. They did NOT offer us a place to sit and wait while he ātried toā figured out a solution for us. There was no adequate parking. There was a sheer lack of hospitality and responsibility. So my recommendation is to NOT believe Mr Khare and definitely DO NOT recommend this highly unreliable place to anybody. To add: They do not have food / a running restaurant. One needs to request for specifically few hours before dinner time. Hence, we also had to go outside for dinner after a very hectic day. The blanket in the room was also torn, and there were no hand towelsā¦

Nakshatra is a cosy place... More like a mini resort. We have stayed here 3-4 times and what I like most is the non commercial, homely approach towards the guests.
They have a full fledged kitchen for veg and non veg Maharashtrian food... though prior intimation is required... they serve hot tea and coffee as early as 6am and offer decent Maharashtrian one disher breakfast.
The food is tasty and simple and perfect for kids...
The rooms are large, well maintained and clean.
Along with all this, the place is just 5 min from the beach...

Nakshatra Holiday Homes contains few independent cottages built using locally available laterite stone. The cottages are very beautifully constructed and are self sufficient. The owner come manager makes every effort to make the stay of clients as comfortable as possible. The Holiday Home usual caters to Maharastrian clientele. The Holiday Home has a kitchen but there is no fully functional restaurant. However, breakfast is served, so also dinner, based on prior orders. The place is conveniently located on the Guhagar Main Road and walking distance from the beach. The rooms gives a view of rustic village setting from the windows. Only draw back, which I could see, was that, there are windows all around the cottage, with the panes of transparent glass and the curtains needs to be carefully drawn, at all time to prevent outsiders from viewing into the rooms. Over all a good, clean and one of the best stay option at Guhagar.

The rooms were very good and location was also very good but the problem was that the staff didn't remember that we had booked 3 rooms and gave our one room to somebody staff insisted that they had a medical emergency and were a senior citizen but the staff was lying is sure because when we asked that what was happened to them.staff said that they had twisted their leg and for this small problem we can't shift them to the hotel beside and we asked where are they.staff said that They had locked the room and gone outside we don't know when they will come.so we had to 3 people had to stay the hotel beside it.So the service is the worst ever don't book your room here.This problem had came even after booking room 1 month before.

Nakshatra Holiday Homes is what you exactly want as a getaway from city-life. Just a stone throw away from a beautifully scenic Guhagar beach, this place is a combination of elegance and homely atmosphere. NHH is a set of self-sufficient cottages with simplistic yet optimum amenities. The laterite stone walls add rustic elegance to the already beautiful cottages. The place is surrounded by Coconut trees, great multicolor variety of hibiscus plants and several other varieties of flower plants. Although they donāt have a multi-cuisine restaurant, what they do have is an open dining area and the warm kitchen staff that serves you wide variety of breakfast on order and a great spread of Konkani Veg and Non-veg delicacies for lunch and dinner on prior notice. You should definitely try their seafood which is from a fresh catch. Khare family, which owns and manages this resort, deserves all the accolades as the warmth and care with which they treat you just makes the stay all the more pleasant and lovely. All in all, it was worthwhile experience of a pleasurable stay and food in the vicinity of nature. So 2 thumbs up for NHH!!!
