We visited Dive Agar on X’Mas Weekend and had wonderful Stay @ ‘Exotica Beach Retreat’ (Part of the property is also known as ‘Exotica By-The-Sea’). It is indeed one of the finest in Dive Agar and best during COVID. 1. RESORT – It is located outskirts of Dive Agar village on Borli Panchatan - Diveagar - Shrivardhan Rd after crossing a small bridge. One of the ends of Dive Agar beach is at walking distance from the Resort whereas the main beach having water sports are 2KM away. The resort is lush green and spread across 12 acres with a River on the backside. The landscape reminded me 2 beautiful resorts from passionate owners We visited before – ‘Kyriad Prestige Riverside’ @ Amba Ghat, and ‘Blue Ocean’ @ Malgund. 2. ROOMS – There are 24 rooms - 4 luxurious ‘Ekaant’ Cottages (2 Pond and 2 Garden facing cottages), 8 Machaan cottages, 12 riverside cottages. Rooms seem to have been constructed using modular technique but are sturdy, soundproof and aesthetically done. We had booked Pond facing Cottage and it was big with high ceiling, wooden floor, King size bed, extra mattress, TV with most channels including that for Kids, mini fridge, AC, ample lights, Tea-Coffee Maker, Huge Bathroom with a Geyser, toiletries and clean Bathtub. There is also a balcony sit out for every cottage and additional sitout areas with chairs, tables and swings. Dedicated parking spaces available closer to cottages. The Bath towels and linen were not spotless but are regularly washed, sun dried and clean. 3. AMENITIES / ACTIVITIES – Resort offers various outdoor activities like bicycles, badminton, Table Tennis, Carrom, a Book library and ample open space for playing. It does not have a swimming pool. There is also a wooden deck for fishing next to the river and a Goshala where one can go and feed the cows. Resort also grows organic vegetables and can be good learning experience for the Kids. There is also a Koi Fish & Lilly pond and it was fun feeding fishes. 4. FOOD – There is Open Air restaurant which serves delicious North Indian, Chinese and local Sea food. It has unique décor where tables are made from antique wooden boxes called ‘Sandook’. They do NOT have a Bar. Breakfast was hearty and besides regular continental spread and eggs made to Order, there was also Idli Wada Sambhar, Upma, Pohe, Sabudana Khichadi, Sheera, Sabudana Wada etc. over 2 days. Overall quality, taste and quantity of the food was very good. However, if you want to try some local delicacies like Fish Thali then you should walk-in to ‘Rane Bandhu Khanawal’ or ‘Patil Khanawal’ in Dive Agar. For homely Veg meals and Ukadiche Modak, visit Suhas Bapat’s Mess in Dive agar (pre-booking is required). 5. STAFF – Staff was very cordial and helpful especially Mr. Santosh at the reception. 6. SIGHTSEEING – While the main Dive agar beach is crowded, the beach near the resort was empty. It is at walking distance Or ample car parking is available on a ground. Suvarna Ganesh Temple is the main attraction of Dive Agar which is renovated recently but also visit the Rup Narayan and Sunder Narayan Temple which are unique. Main Dive Agar beach offers ample water sports activities but don’t forget to take ‘Sea Rock Marine Adventure Boat Ride’ at Bharadkhol which is just 2 Km ahead from Exotica. If you travel further south for 7-8 kms, you will see a sunset point on the cliff and pristine white sand beaches of ‘Kondivali’ and ‘Aravi’ which are less frequented, clean with soft white sand. If you travel further South, you will reach Shrivardhan Hari Hareshwar. If you travel north of Dive Agar, you can visit Velas Beach known for Sea Turtle Conservation, Murud Janjira Fort etc. 7. ROADS – We travelled from Pune and roads are now butter smooth, mostly concrete especially the Mulshi Backwaters – Tamhini and Mangaon to Mhasala State Highway. Few recommended Pitstops with good food and clean washrooms are Orchard Café, Gold Valley, Quick Byte at Green Gate Resort Mulshi and Basho’s Mulshi.…
We drove 4 hours from Navi Mumbai to this place. The drive through the statehighways(No tolls) was scenic. Though the roads were narrow, there was no traffic and the drive was peaceful, except for a few isolated patches of damaged roads. The stay was exceptional. Have nothing to complain. The place is calm and spread out. You have separate villa type residences and can drive to your room and park your vehicle comfortably. The place offers bicycles for use(with support wheels for kids), but they needed maintenance. The best I loved about this place is the staff. The team was found courteous and obliging. They are ready to help. As we checked-in, they drew a map of the locality on how to reach the beach(2-3 mins drive), and also the location if we wanted to try local cuisines. Would love to visit again.…
Location, rooms and hospitality was good. Staff was cordial. The koi pond was a hit with kids. Property is good and peaceful too. Food was tasty. Only complaint very limited options for breakfast. Same menu was repeated for both days of our stay.
Spent 2 nights at this property, stayed in the river view suit and can tell you this property is the best property in the diveagar, shrivardhan area. All the rooms are well spaced out so no crowding at all. The manager Mr Kamlesh was fantastic along with his team they did everything to ensure we have a fantastic anniversary celebration at the resort. Highly recommended this to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay with the best in hospitality. Keep it up 👍
