We, bunch of 3 school friends, planned a trip to the less explored hills of Chakrata in the month of July 2018. The beautiful hill station of Chakrata is a cantonment area due to which it has seen not much of commercialization. We searched for properties and this was on top at ev

Nothing great but this place has its own charm. Very tranquil and calm, situated on a windy less travelled road ahead of chakrata town.

Rooms and services are ok, food is fine with limited options but you cant expect much at such a location. There are a few hotels here and there

The road to chakrata via Dehradun-Kalsi is good but it's better to avoid monsoon and Kaanwad kios if coming from Delhi...

Hello Mr Rawat, I read your very informational review. I would like to know what you mean by "go by the Yamnoutri route rather than the Chakrata route". My plan is to drive from Karnal to Chakrata, stay at the Himalayan Paradise hotel (sounds very exciting too - with Kaloo and Bruno) and then continue to Hanol, Lakhamandal and on to Harsil via Uttarkashi and beyond into Garhwal's Chamoli district. Currently I'm planning to go via Tajewala Headworks, Dak Patthar and climb to Chakrata. I would really appreciate if you could elaborate on the "Yamnotri route" as it would enhance my driving experience. Thank you very much for your time Lt Col Nilesh Korgaokar (Retd), ex-Garhwal Rifles.
I suggest you to go via mussourie road once you cross Ponta Sahib. I don't remember the exact turn but google map works fine. This route is a bit longer but pretty well laid out with beautiful landscapes.

Is this resort accessible by a sedan car? how is the road?
Yes Very much. I would recommend to call Hotel management from Ponta Sahib for the best route.

"Go for first floor Jaunsaari built rooms..."
"If you want to be with mother nature, this place and hotel is highly recommended.."
"if you have small kids take ground floor or else first floor is better"
"Call the owners for the best route .. dont just follow GPS"
"First floor corner room has best views and light, though avoid if thunderstorm expected"
