The best part about this property is location, with mountain views all around, excellent landscaping, fresh breadth of air and birds chirping rite through the day. Absolute Bliss and Peace. Chef Praveen is another star here, dishing out delicious meals, though it was with limited veggies and same dishes being repeated during our 5Nites stay. Besides location and Chef Praveen and his Kitchen staff there is nothing to cheer about. Pain points starts from here. With Only Jio and BSNL network working, we have to depend on their local wireless network, which was very weak since only two-access point were installed to cover 4 Mud Houses and 1 tree house which was at quite a distance. While the views from Tree House are awesome but it’s not safe to climb the steps specially the final entry step to Tree House, its Washroom is located one level down which makes it unusable incase one wants to use during middle of the night. While we were there lot of construction work was going on, which was bit annoying. Neighbourhood Non Stop Dog Barking from was very frustrating. Be absolutely sure about your return journey schedule because they never offer you late check out despite next guest late check IN or even if they have vacant cottages. We saw 2 senior citizens sitting out in the sun for almost 3 hours though their next guest check in was late and one young couple have to face the same fate despite their cottage being going vacant for the day. They operate with very limited staff, same workers doing the House Keeping, common ground cleaning and serving you food also that makes it quite unhygienic. What made us very unpleasant is with no advance information; at check out we were handed out the bills for consuming Bed Tea and evening Tea, which I think is quite fair and basic to be part of the stay. We were told that owners are doing this as a passion not as a business. I am afraid their actions reflect otherwise. With no owners around, our experience was communicated to one of staff member Ms. Shenza with a promise to get a call from the Owners, with no revert from them, I called Mr. Ajith Narayanan but he was too busy to talk and never bothered to return a call. Generally for the good of management and staff we convey our experience directly with the owners instead of posting it on a social sites but being forced to do this due to top Management indifferent attitude.

A breathtaking experience! The mudhouses are unique, comfortable and tastefully done. The view is spectacular, food's divine and service deserves special mention. Ambiliy and team manage the place masterfully. Despite the greenery, the place is spotless clean. They even took us inside the kitchen. Hats off to the architect for seamlessly blending in ethnic and contemporary designs. We need such places... Full power to team Mudhouse! Pro tips: - There's a small trek within the property that shouldn't be missed. - Spend some time in the sitting area near the bonfire, there are fireflies that light up the sky. - There's no swimming pool, keep that in mind while booking. - Carry your own toiletries (shampoo, moisturizer etc.), they provide soaps & towels. Stunning property, extremely well maintained, the best place for some TLC... Go for it!

The cottages at the mudhouse has the authentic experience. It's truly was magically in monsoon. The experience was wonderful not only for it's ambience but because of their hospitality. Most welcoming generous smiles by Ambily and team. Must try their lunches! Our stay at the mudhouse was one of the best experience of the week long road trip. We had some trouble in our travel and the people of the mudhouse and Marayoor helped us in the best possible way they could. Forever grateful.

An amazing small house with a lovely garden out front and a wonderful tree house to take in the views on the back of the land. This is a spacious, comfortable and unique space with a great shower&bathroom to boot. And the service from our hosts was second to none. To receive such beautiful, detailed service from your morning breakfast to your evening dinner...and out in the middle of nowhere....it seemed incredible. We were blown away and super grateful. Make this a stop on your travels, even if it's just for a night!

Been here with a friend of mine. We booked this property thru Airbnb. There are two properties listed as Mudhouse-1 and 2 with different prices. We booked WH2 at a higher price, but found both the houses are the same when we landed there. The houses are located few KMs away from Marayoor town. The road from Marayoor passes thru the forest area and its soothing to drive. Locating the place wasn't difficult, the host has been very helpful in directing us. Reached the place at lunch and the caretaker brothers had the lunch ready for us. The rooms were spacious and had the eco feel. All the walls except the bathroom were made with mud and the floor was with mud and covered with cow dung. The room had all the basics we need (TV, toiletries etc). Maintained very well. We stayed for two nights and had all our food in the place. The caretakers made sure we got everything we asked for. All the food they made had a homely touch. We were served with hot, medicated drinking water all the time. Though there were houses around, they place was noise free most of the time. The tables placed on the lawn in front of the houses was ultimate for relaxing in the mornings and evenings. There was a viewpoint in the making behind the houses and it gave full view of the valley. Another wonderful place to sit and relax. Overall, the stay was fantastic with the great food and peaceful surroundings. The hosts are building two more houses in the same place. I am sure to return again in a year or so, no doubt on that. Its value for money, though the hosts follow dynamic pricing model. If you book early you may get a good deal. Don't miss this place if you are looking for a peaceful eco getaway around Munnar.

Mudhouse is a great concept but needs some finishing touches / upleveling. First the good part - Ajit (the host) helped us plan a good itinerary that was manageable and gave us a good feel for Munnar given we had young kids in tow. Alex and Ajay were very helpful and we enjoyed the food they served and overall service. The rooms make for an “off the beaten path” experience. Plus Mudhouse is quite eco-friendly, which is great! Not so good bits - we had a nightmare experience when the geysers stopped working and Ajay and Alex had to scramble to find a solution. Finally they had to supply hot water from the kitchen. The property didn’t have back-up plans for this type of scenario - which is a concern. Secondly, while the open bathroom is an interesting concept, the bathrooms get very wet when it’s raining - as the condensation comes all the way through even to the covered areas. Also, while the food itself is good - the kitchen could be a bit more clean. Other than this, it was a good experience. A bit more finesse and scenario planning would help to improve the experience.
