The hotel is situated near to the bus stand and the Murga temple. This is not a luxury kind of hotel, but a very practical one with a good & clean room. The staff at reception and housekeeping are courteous and quite helpful. You get value for the money you spend.
We stayed there during the first week of October, 2019 with my family. Reached there late night and occupied non-ac room. The room was clean and staff were friendly. At around midnight we woke up due to mosquito problem. Checked around the windows, they had mosquito nets yet due to small openings in the edge of the mosquito nets, there is no control as such. I myself would have killed more than 50 mosquitoes...Finally at around five in the morning due to tiredness we all slept. Lesson learned: please get AC accommodation. One pro is that there is a decent restaurant beneath the lodge. Hotel Nalabakam. Food over here is good.
I reached this hotel after reading the review. initially i was told that there is no single room and i was offered a double room at a rate of Rs1000/- (he offered a discount of Rs500). since i would be checking out in the next day morning. i was given an old room with worn out plug points extremely dangerous and there is no other facility. there was not even towel or linen. next day morning i was asked to check out by 5 itself and collected Rs 1000/- and no receipt was provided stating that system is not working. it was utter waste of money and total disappointment.
When you are on a pilgrimage, I dont understand why people bother about luxury - referring to few negative ratings here..... When i look at this, a trip to palani - the rooms were booked by one of our family members at this lodge - i didn't have much expectations - all i wanted was washrooms having westeen style closet...... this hotel turned out to be much beyond my expectations.... it is as par with hotels we will see at cities..... well, lets not compare with star hotels..... decent rooms, very clean toilets, helpful staff.... nice traditional tamil style restaurant, ample parking space.... all good for me and if i am going back to palani, i wont be looking for any other place.. Please note, our rooms were in the new building - and the review is based on the experience there. …
Good place and clean and safe place to stay for business tourists. Reasonable rates and good food. All main utility services r nearby. During peak days I.e. during winter at times it is full and it is difficult to get bookings. One should take note of this.
Good and neat rooms with toilet. Bed and switches also have a standard. Only issue was I didn't get room service. Restaurant provides tasty food but little Expensive. If you are with family, no doubt go for it.
The things I found to be just about average was the food at the restaurant and the A/C in the room. Apart from that everything else was far below average expectations... Poor bathroom fittings No hot water after 8am No room service Lobby outside our room was filled with people sitting on the floor or loitering around... Chaotic scene They used 2 bedsheets to just cover 1 queen size bed which was just cheap and the sheets were not as clean as we expected. Overall it felt like this place was meant for a traveller from the last generation and not the one's who are used to the facilities offered by newer hotels. My suggestion is AVOID
The place is closer to the hill temple - about 600-700m to the base steps/ Winch station and is an old property. Whilst the location is good and the rooms clean, this place can be considered at best a Budget accommodation.. ACs in the rooms require periodic maintenance. Only then will they serve the purpose Bathrooms require a little more attention. Rickety toilet seats, bath mugs and unclean taps need to be maintained better The restaurant is decent and serves vegetarian food at reasonable rates. They cater to special needs - bland and low sugar food, Jain food etc, which is good. Food otherwise is on the spicier side and needs to be toned down Service is average. While the staff cater to specific needs of the guests, they sometimes are a tad too laid back and don't bother about customer service Overall, we had a good stay for a night and the rates were good considering the facilities provided.…
Situated on the main road, it is one of the closest landmarks near palani temple. Very reasonable rates for all types of rooms whether ac or non AC. The rooms are pretty decent with simple interiors. U will feel like home. There is a lot of parking facilities for two wheelers and. Four wheelers. There is a vegetarian restaurant in the ground floor which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is yummy and service is pampering. A must visit to all.
We booked a 4 BED DELUXE A/C room through phone booking and the hotel authorities were kind enough to hold our booking without requesting for advance payment(despite of we being ready for it) till the time we boarded the lodge. Hotel authorities were kind enough to serve our needs helping us with quick onboarding and they even helped in arranging for head Tonsuring to my kid in the hotel itself at moderate price. More importantly the food served in the adjoined Hotel Nalabagam was awesome and very delicious, the famous Adai Aviyal and afternoon lunch with mour kolambu & vathal kolambu requires special mention and it tastes simply superb. No wonder why this hotel was still remembered as one of the best hotels in Palani serving authentic tasty food with moderate price with best quality. Only scope of improvement we felt is toilets can be maintained even better.…
