A lovely place, with lovely rooms around a little garden. The rooms were comfortable. The place was close to the Crater & temples. Staff were helpful. But the dining area left a lot to be desired. Shabby, unkempt, and a total eyesore. But you have no other options in Lonar. So for a one night do, it was ok

I wonder why did I booked one night stay here in this MTDC resort. Agree other MTDC resorts doesnt fall into Great category but this one is Poor. Booked an AC room but AC in the room was instead of colling, was raining. Water was continously dripping inside the room on the floor. God knows when was the Fan cleaned last time. So many bath soaps used by earlier travellers were lysing inside bathroom. Bed linens were not clean. All these things show poor housekeeping. next day morning had another surpise - No Hot water. After much follow up we got water in bucket for bath. When i tried to approach Manager Mr Dhabade, he did not took any pain to come and talk to me. While I was talking to other staff members for change of room, this gentleman simply rode away on his bike with daughter. These are only Goverment staffers earning salary and unfit for Hospitality services. Unless mindset changes, God save MTDC Lonar.

Lonar : Natural wonder. Very good place to visit for at least one day. Guide is must if one wants to explore and understand variety of birds, flora and fauna of this place. MTDC resort: Not an elaborate resort, but it’s neat and clean. Food is good. But one can go around the place and eat outside as well. It’s a typical town, so okeyish restaurants

We wanted to make a overnight pitstop at the property after a long drive and arrived at the resort around 4 pm. There wasnt anyone anywhere and after shouting at the top of our voice so someone could hear us, 2 female workers who were cleaning weed at a distance came over and called someone from a room who was deep asleep. The manager was nowhere to be seen. The bearer spoke with someone over a phone who gave permission for us to be checked in. We were walked to a shabby room through a dusty path and dust laden walkway on to a entrance where stray dogs were fast asleep. There wasnt any power. We were told power would resume soon. In that sweltering end April heat, we entered the room closed on all sides with windows that couldnt be opened and when forced to open with levers, a swarm of insects simply flew inside the room.. We ordered for bhajiyas and tea which came after some time all burned up. Anyway, power didnt come and when enquired we were informed that it would come in soon. Power was resumed at 9.30 pm . In the interim we were served tasteless food, cooked over torchlight, on a balcony swarming with mosquitoes. We went down and started looking for the manager who upon seeing us went behind the staircase and started speaking on phone. After repeated requests, he appeared and said that power would continue uninterrupted through the night. At 12 midnight the per went out again. The room became a furnace after some time and we were forced to sit out near where the guard was sitting. Mosquitoes meanwhile drove us crazy.and we had to literally walk around the property for 3 hours to avoid the heat and swarm of mosquitoes following us. Power resumed at 3.15 pm. By that time all expectations of sleep were gone and we remained stark awake through the night. Around 6.30 am we got out for breakfast which was included in our plan. Upon enquiry, they said they could serve only Poha. The quantity was miniscule and it was the most tasteless poha we ever tasted. We simply ran out of the property by 7 am and promised to let everyone know about our harrowing experience. The worst thing we saw was a couple with a young girl with her face wrapped in a cloth piece and an elderly man get into a room around 7 am after paying cash to the manager. Evidently they didnt have a reservation and were using the room for other reasons. The remoteness and low footfall of the place perhaps serves as a rendezvous for such activities. DONT EVER VISIT THAT PROPERTY EVEN BY MISTAKE OR IN YOUR WILDEST DREAM!!!

MTDC resort as the name suggest its a government owned resort. Its a very well maintained and clean resort with good space to stay inside. Also for small children, there is a garden with slides and other things to enjoy. Staff is great and friendly and very supportive and go all out to make the stay very comfortable. Food is also good to taste and has homely taste to it. Its only 5-10 mins from the Lonar Crater and if required anyone can go walking to it.

MTDC provides the only decent stay option in Lonar. Each cottage had two side by side accommodation units. We had made booking online at MTDC website. Our check in was smooth and hassle free. The staff was helpful. The unit allotted to us was spacious with attached bathroom and a veranda. The bathroom was not so well maintained, but room was relatively clean. There was sufficient parking space available and we could take the car near the room allotted to us. There was also a small children's play area near the cottages. The bathroom developed a water supply problem in the evening and we were requested to shift to some other similar room. The problem in supply of water was attributed to damage caused to the pipes by monkeys, which were in abundance on the resort grounds. The restaurant at the resort appeared to be popular as there were many customers, especially during the lunch time. The view from the restaurant was very good as Lonar Crater was visible from there. Considering that it is a MTDC Resort, it was good, in general it may rated as average.

We have planned to stay here but there were no bookings available hence we visited this for lunch only. This resort is superb and staff is Supportive here. Food served was fresh and service was quick. Lonar is Isolated place and apart from this you will not find any other food joint or Stay option in it. Overall a good place to have your food or Stay if you are visiting Lonar.

We came to this place after a horrible stay at another MTDC property (Ajanta). We were worried it could be the same but surprisingly this place was so much better. Our room was clean, so was the attached bathroom. The room was spacious, we were served dinner in the room and it was totally fine. The hotel is located very close to the Lonar crater, which is amazing. We were lucky to have Mr. Ramesh Rathod +91.58925048 as a guide for the crater the next day. Ramesh is a serious guide, do not hesitate to contact him!

After coming down from Chikhaldara, a service diaspora and the disappointment in Ajanta before ... MTDC absolutely positively surprised us. Our driver from Chikhaldara had a hard time driving. Obviously he did not know the area, could not read a map, did not understand English to follow the navigation system on his mobil ... so it took ages to arrive here. How lovely the warm wellcome, clean and tidy rooms ... and gorgeous food! A little strange is that basement room, where you can get drunk in cognito ... little booths with doors hiding the alcoholics from nosy views ... feet sticking out of one or the other. Coming from Europe, where drinking alcohol is no tabu - we curiously observed this institution. The best however is the lonar lake just opposite. The hotel's location allowed for an early morning visit - with the birds singing and the day still being nice and cool ... absolutely recommended°
