Sunderban Tiger Camp started in 2004, located on Dayapur Island on the banks of the River Pitchkhali opposite the Sunderban Tiger Reserve famous for the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger and Salt water crocodiles and variety of birds, is a comfortable, ecofriendly resort for exploring the regions fascinating mangrove forests, islands and wildlife. As this island has no electricity and fresh water available, our guests are able to enjoy hospitality through rain water harvesting and solar energy. Guests can relax and enjoy the sun whilst cruising or at the resort. For the more active, our reception can organize tours round the Sunderban region or special activities such as wildlife safaris, dingy boat rides and crab catching. The resort has a private lake for viewing migratory bird and special birding walks within its grounds. You can even plant a tree with our gardeners. Visit to the local villages and cultural performance of tribal dance and Bon Bibi Jatra are also available.

Loved the remoteness of the centre. Bungalows very comfortable and secluded. Best to get a bucket of hot water ready before starting a shower as the hot water can run out. Loved cruising along the canals, easy to walk into the local village, evening entertainment of local villag

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing Sunderban Tiger Camp for your stay at Sunderban National Park and for writing such a beautiful review. We really appreciate the feedback you have given about your experience with us. A stay at the Sunderban Tiger Camp is definitely unique - it brings you close to the nature without compromising on comfort. The resort is environmentally positive, and we source our own water through rain water harvesting which is provided for drinking, cooking, bathing and showers. All our garbage is segregated and recycled at source. Solar water heaters provide hot water through taps in the cottages-This is our initiative to conserve water as the source is not permanent. Waste water is used for Gardening. The food produce is either organically grown at the resort or sourced from the local market. Everything else has to be sourced and provided from Kolkata as sunderbans is quite remote and nothing is available without prior notice. We thank you for supporting our green initiative. My Team and I will look forward to the opportunity of welcoming all of you back to Sunderban Tiger Camp soon. Thank you, Akanksha

We arrived at Sunderbans Tiger Camp following a 2 hour taxi transfer from Kolkata. We then had a pleasant hour and a half boat transfer to the Tiger Camp. Staff were very welcoming and most attentive. The camp is laid out with cabins alongside the paths. There is a small kitc

They provided transport from Kolkata to the resort and back. For the price paid, I expected a more comfortable and less noisy bus.

The room is at a 3 start quality. Even though they had a hot water tap, as it was a roof top solar variety, it was cold water all the item and had

Does Sundarban Tiger Camp has all the permissions to operate from WB Pollution Control Board and CRZ authorities?
now they have Green Tribunal orders to run the resort like earlier with some specific suggestions to make the Sunderbans greener and eco friendly.

Can anybody suggest cheap sunderban trip within INR 5000/- which includes Dobanki, Netidhupani, Buridubri, Sudhanyakhali as major attractions. We want a trip plan for 3N & 4D. Reply as soon as possible.
with private tour agency like India Beacon, its 5500/person for 2 nights+3 days. With WBTDC it may be little cheaper but u may have to accomodate with 20 other passangers. Noise, crowd and toilet privacy may suffer. Noise drives animals away from watch towers.

I am planning for a one night two day trip from 30 Apr to 1 May 2015. Travelling with family - two of us (husband-wife) and two kids (8 an 11 years). What is the best place to stay and what is the best way to travel?
As i have done it twice and tried both, stay in houseboat is better. Try WBTDC. it may be cheaper. Boat travels through channels of delta along mangrove forests and also offers 3 watch tower and educational facility. Private agencies run it too.
