Worst service ever i have seen in my travel history. We booked 3 rooms and welcome by rates in room. Room service is zero. Even after calling many time no one ready to respond. I have informed management also but is was waste of time. Even bell boys not available for baggage. Tea glass were not clean and smelly. I will not recommended any one resort.

Location is good. Surrounded with greenery and river side. But the rooms are overpriced... Even a suite room doesn't have a simple table to keep the suitcase.. There is not even a Tea kit and cup provided in the room. No room service, if you need anything to eat to need to walk to the restaurant. Asked for cups for thr tea took more than 1 hour for the same and this is when only 30% of the rooms are occupied.. food is good but options are limited. Surprisingly they charge on Per Person basis which comes out to be expensive. If it has to be PP it should not be more than 3-3.5k pp with the kind of facilities they provide. The internet was not available in the building we were staying. Only good part is location.

We booked it for 2 nights and premium cottages , prices were slightly higher as we paid 13k rs for one room per day in off season, rooms were fine , spcious, food was sometime amazing, sometime ok bt sitting location of restaurant is superb, plus they dont interfere whatever you do , either you go on rocks or explore river or whatever 😀 they arrange you table outsife if you want to drink and have fun. Activit8es wise superb, they allow guests only in resort to enter so no chaos in resort. Whichevrr property we havr seen in dandeli , this one is the bezt luxurious one. Overall it was an amazing stay ! They arrange trekking too !

I was with my family at Whistling Woodz Resort from March 10-12, 2022. It was a leisure trip to enjoy Jungle beauty in Western ghat biologically sensitive and diverse area of Uttar Kannada District, Karnataka. The resort welcome us with drinks. We preferred to stay River view cottage. The beautiful River Kali flows with whistling sound in front of our Cottage. The room is fine and is spacious and bathroom is clean but small. Cottage Room does not have TV or mobile connectivity ( except Airtel) etc. I must say that these facilities are not required as we had gone there to forget everything and nature ! We have truly enjoyed the stay and went to Kali Tiger Reserve near by. The resort is in a perfect location to spend holidays but ity is a bit crowdy due to some programs were going on there during our visit. Those were the vacation hazards I have found but definitely these programs did not disturb any guest at least to us. I advise the tourist to select Premium Cottage which are marvelous . Tree cottage is also worthy for young people . The resort has wheel chair facilities and most of the places it can move. But one must remember that it is not a hotel but a jungle resort hence I appreciate their minimum facilities for person with physical disabilities. Resort is having lots of complementary activities like river rafting etc. Food is good and very much adequate although breakfast lacks variations. Taste of food and quality are quite good although I have read some adverse reviews on it by others. Our experience on food is quite impressive. I thank all the Restaurant staff for very polite and supporting attitude towards the guests. Dandeli Forest is just a heaven in the earth and this resort is amazingly good. I am sure I shall again come with my family and enjoy nature here. - Prof.Dr.Kusal K.Das, Dean and Interregional Coordinator, Department of Environmental Health, UNESCO/UNITWIN Network.

Maybe the resort might've been really good when it had few cottages. But recently in addition to the poolside and river view cottages, a new building with a lot of "executive" rooms has been built. While it does help in hosting a lot of ppl at a time, but there are other aspects of the resort that haven't scaled up. When we were there, the restaurant had long queues to serve the buffet items. Also there were not enough seats for all. The pool will also be overcrowded. Even the activities the resort offers will have a queue. They successfully scaled up the rooms but other things have remained same. Having said this, the resort is good. Location is perfect. Food was nice. The spa service (charged extra) is also very professional. The rooms were clean and hygienic. One more complaint I've is for the loud music. I thought the resort respects how ecologically sensitive the area it is located in. But when we stayed there, there was a big group that had some vacation there and they used loud music even till late night.

Visited this place for 03 nights stay from 26th Feb to 01st March 2022 Room Experience We had taken the premium cottage. The room is spacious with a sit out area. Ideal for people traveling with family of 4. Is it value for money. I personally felt the charges are quite steep and the way the room is maintained is not worth it.There is also no in room service offered. Food Experience I felt the same food was served again and again during my entire stay with just the dish name changed. Morning breakfast is opened late and by the time the hotel folks are ready with the set up, guest are waiting in long que ( weekend crowds ). There is nothing around the resort so you have to have all 03 meals at the resort. Activities River rafting and other water sports activity is available for booking in the resort. Once booked, they take you the point where all this activities are available. From the resort its 10 minutes drive. Verdict As there is no one decent property around, you are left with no much choice. You need to keep yours ears and eyes shut and ignore the areas that you expected should have been better. Stay for 2 or 3 night and bid good bye.

If you have very low expectations, please stay here. Or, there are better places. Here are my reasons: First if all, we were a family of 5 (two senior citizens included). 1. Food - Any self-respecting Udupi joint will serve and service customers better. They have a “what they call” restaurant (basically benches with chairs that are so dirty) wherein they place food. More than the taste, the place is absolutely filthy. They don’t clean benches after a customer is eaten. You have to ask 100 times and still no one bothers. And they “encourage” you to dump your used place near the wash basin. Don’t even peak near the kitchen! I warn you. 2. Room service - NONE. There are no kettle in the room. Food and evening tea is served at the restaurant - like a jail and at a fixed time. They don’t have room service. You order food and eat at the restaurant. 3. Cleanliness - the less said, the better. The website is extremely misleading (looks like a fancy boutique place but it is not - they have over 100 rooms). We asked for some water and we went to the room service place where they keep all towels etc. a little peak and we were scared to use bedsheets ans trowels. While checking in, our driver went to a small place where they serve food for internal staff and drivers and I went with him. The place was so filthy that my driver and I left immediately. I gave him money to eat somewhere outside. The whole place is messy. 4. Construction - there are lot of construction happening. Trailers, tractors and people - walk in and move about like anyone business. Healthy and safety hazard. 5. Customer service does not exist. The place is understaffed and they are overworked. The restaurant person said “the management does not clean their workplace and don’t even take cafe of them well”. Two good things: 1. Location 2. The adventure activity staff are amazing. The only saving grace here. If you are thinking of booking, please have low expectations and you will stilll be disappointed. Horrible.

I recently visited the place with my friends for a short vacation. We paid for river and pool facing rooms to have a good time off. But unfortunately, we did not get any good service. 1. The resort staff could not even provide basic services such as clean water on daily basis. We need to fill water for ourselves. 2. Towels provided in the rooms were stinky/dirty. 3. Food was not provided on time. Food quality and catering service was in line with typical college hostel. Long queues for food. 4. Worst part was there was a rat in one of my friends room. 5. The activities were over priced. All in all , it was not at all a satisfactory experience. The service compared to the price they charged was quite poor. I would not recommend the resort to other travellers.

Expensive and valued for nothing. Rooms not clean, no wifi, no TV, no dustbin in room, horrible service, food not at all served on time, no good dishes, no intercom service in room and too much noise from the construction in the same building. Why would they give a room in the building which is under construction? basically no value for money paid, bad option. They take the customers for granted. Pathetic behaviour from Whistling Woods resort
