The only positive feedback I can give is that the location is nice, close to the fjord and the "Hamsund-senter ". Other than this the list of negative things is long: terrible smell and dirty toilet facilities. Had to tell the staff that there was no toilet paper in the morning. Bad food in the restaurant, and in general the...

We stayed here for one night in summer and were so glad we did! The setting is magical with a riverside setting and crystal clear water. There was forest and wildflowers surrounding the camp and a very pretty sitting out area at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the little restaurant does not offer much of a choice for meals and we settled...

We stayed only for one night and I´m not going back ever again. The staff were not service minded at all and did not do their job properly. Starting with not replying when we tried to make a reservation via email a few weeks earlier. The room were dirty and had a terrible smell. No sheets and towels, so we...

Everything at the campsite is old and badly maintained. I would also say that the staff is not very welcoming. One positive thing is that it is only a few meters from the Hamsun museum, that is well worth a visit. If you could stay somewhere else - do it.

This is a camp site located at Presteid, near the Hamsun centre. The cabins spans a wide level of standards, some are very simple while others are quite modern. The communal shower/toilet area for those with cabins without private facilities is quite run-down. There is a nice tidal stream just by the campsite, boats area available for rental. There is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hamaroy Fishcamping is a family-run resort situated nearby the tofts of the old vicarage where the writer Knut Hamsun lived with his uncle for almost six years during his childhood, and which he describes so well in his novel “A Ghost”: The vicarage was beautifully situated nearby the tidewater current Glimma, a broad current with large boulders from where the roar sounded night and day, night and day. ... more   less

“We stayed in cottage number 17 with the best view of the river and a little garden. It was simple, clean and quite spacious with a lounge, dining area and kitchen. There was a family size fridge with freezer. The shower is a good size with a shower curtain. 2 bedrooms - one with bunks and one with twin beds. The linen was extra and we cleaned the cottage before we left.”
