It is a very well maintained property at a very reasonable rate & very near to temple.
so all in all a very pleasant experience & I will prefer to stay at this place whenever in Somnath.
Room was clean. I was thinking to choose between Sagar Darshan & Somnath Mahrshwari but I choose this because of better food quality. Here food is excellent with very nominal rates. Only drawback was there was no intercom, you need to dail reception thru your mobile. Service was fast.
the location is walking distance from the temple. Reception room for booking confirmation is on the main road in different building. Best part of this guest room is 24h front desk for check in and check out. Rooms are average, need major upkeep including laundry. Trust must hire a good person to manage the property which is at prime location. Good budget option for staying.
I am Not happy at visit Shree Somnath Maheswari Samaj Atithi Gruh.
Food was decent in a clean dining room. If you want to eat out, there are a few eateries advertising Indian, Punjabi, Chinese, Kathiawadi food right outside. Cars for hire available inside the compound.
After booking it online in advance, you need to visit the Somnath Trust booking office with the printed copy of booking receipt. The booking office is just 3 minutes walking distance from the Maheshwari Bhavan. The booking staff provides you with the room keys after we submit our id proofs. PS: It is mandatory to produce ID card for all the visitors (all the members of the family (except kids)). Though, they are liberal if you are missing one or two if you are a large group. We did not have one ID proof of 11 members, but they were kind enough to allow that. But Its good if you carry everyone's ID proof.
The rooms were neat and clean, with AC working fine. Ac rooms cost us Rs. 1100/- per room (Twin beds, two persons and one/two kids).Rooms were spacious than some of the good hotels in somnath where we stayed a day before and paid Rs. 2500 per room. In short, there was nothing to complaint about room. There's nothing like room service, except they provide drinking water. Food is not allowed in the room.
There's also a dining mess, on the zero floor. They serve breakfast (7 am to 10 am), Lunch (12 noon to 2.30 pm) and dinner (8 pm to 10 pm). The lunch and dinner costs Rs. 80 per person (unlimited) which includes two vegs, roti, salad, farsan, dal, rice. For buttermilk, one has to pay extra. The breakfast (Costs Rs. 25-30) menu includes mostly Pauha, different varieties of Paratha (on rotation basis).
The food was little more than average. It was more spicy and lacked the famous kathiyawadi taste. After having our first lunch, we preferred to have our meals at nearby Lilavati Atithi Gruh. Though taste is a personal choice and differs from individual to individual.
Overall the stay was nice. It is advisable to stay in Maheshwari Samaj Atithi Gruh than other hotels. If you are planning in vacation/holidays, book well in advance as there's a big rush during these periods.
I started my journey from Jalgaon (Maharashtra) to Rajot. We were 6 people and planned journey from Rajkot - Somanth-Dwarka -Rajkot. We reached Rajkot at 14 p.m. have already booked Innova from Rajkot. We booked Innova from Mayank tours and travels (9033338128 / 912812454902). Our negotiation was finalized at 11000 for 3 days.Generally its practice to charge 300/per day. (Including driver pay/toll and taxes/parking) not a single penny more. The Driver was waiting for us at station Ashwini Bhai such a nice person. Now we began our journey...
1- Route was Rajkot- junagarh -Somanth - Approx 210 Km
Taken lunch at midpoint was bit ok ok (No onion and garlic)
Reached somanth at 18.50 and got aarti .
After 30 mins we went to the old Somnath temple just 5 mins walking from the main temple. Then proceed for dinner at Somnath Sagar restaurant (AC) There are 2 option AC and NON AC we preferred AC because of very bad fish smell. But unfortunately there is no Gujarati Thali available there, it's only available in the non AC which is adjoined to it. It was both good and costly. Ambience and staff were so cooperative. Reached Somnath Maheswari Samaj Atithi Gruh.Good hotel.Dinner has been available there also at just Rs 70 till 10.30 pm. They also provide breakfast in between @ 08.00 to 10 with good amount of quantity. Didn't taste anything .

We reached Porbandar and visit Sudama temple and then Harssidhi Mataji Temple. Lassii and snacks were awesome opposite to the temple stairs hotel (can't remember name sorry). Before that we have also visited MOOL Dwarka in route. Back to Dwarka route reached Dwarka at 18.45 Taken Darshan in very short cut way with the help of inside young chap panda Hardik. He charged 100 Rs for Darshan and all temple information.
In the premises there is temple of Durwasa rushi,Satybhama mata.Radha rani and mahalxmiji too.
Then Same Paanda (Priest) pattern he told story how important is to give donation here and bla bla bla.We already had decided not to pay anything .So we finally take darshan of Baldev ji and proceed for Rukmani Temple. Its approx 7 to 8 km away from temple.
But unfortunately temple was closed at 7 pm and we didn't got darshan of same.
Back to hotel Bansi very near to Dwarkadhish temple. Just 500 metre. Room was ok ok. But due to make my trip we booked it at 1800 rs only for 6 person 2 rooms AC.
Morning again Darshan of Somanth and processed for Rukhmani Temple. Its said that If you not taken darshan of Rukhmani then the dwarka darshan cant be considered as a complete darshan.
Reached in 10 mins at rukhmini temple. One thing very good outside the temple.Lots of Saadhus sat outside and whosoever donated any amount, maybe Rs.10-20 all sadhus gives you blessings. It's very wonderful feeling over there,. Proceed for Bet Dwarka 34 km from Somnath..Taken boat from okha (its almost takes 2 hrs) to go and from okha to bet dwarka and return .
In Rajkot route visited Gopi Talav (Not worth to visit) and Nageshwar temple Then Back to Rajkot at 4.30.Boarded flight for Mumbai and we all were back....,
Jai Somnath/Jai Dwarka dhish
