We have just returned from a 10 night stay at the As Cascatas Apartments. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment on a bed & breakfast basis. We were lucky to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment which was amazing (I wanted to move in). We arrived to rose petals over the bed, chocolate dipped strawberries and sparkling wine on ice. We had access to 3 balconies and 4 TVs, the apartment had 2 bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen with washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven/hob and fridge freezer. Full lounge diner was lovely.
Breakfast at the Hilton had the usual choice of hot food, cereal, pastries, fruit and continental options. We found out on day 3 that omelettes and poached or fried eggs were available to order. We also found out that speciality coffees were available. We had not been advised of this. Good hygiene practices were observed at breakfast.
The pool areas were really good and we didn’t have any issues getting a lounger at either the main Hilton pool, or the quieter pool at the apartments. Towels were also available and could be taken to the section of beach reserved for guests. There was a small gym which was sufficient but the aircon seemed not to work so it was a little stuffy.
The hotel is a long way out but the free shuttle bus to the Marina and beach was a useful feature and we made good use of this. We also visited the spa to use the pools and relaxation area.
There is a spar supermarket about a ten minute walk away and 3 or 4 restaurants ranging from cheap eats to fine dining. If you need to use taxis outside of the shuttle bus times, Uber is a cheap option.
All in all a great hotel, fantastic accommodation and we would highly recommend. (There was even a family of cats - mum and 6 kittens that were born on site and are now being looked after and fed by staff and guests alike - I was so sad to say goodbye!).

Where to start! We loved our stay from start to finish.
We had emailed in advance to request a few things e.g. high chair, ground floor apart, early check-in and everything was facilitated. We had booked a 1 bed apartment and we were given a 2 bed which was brilliant for storing our luggage and giving us space.
Apartment - had everything! The kitchen is fully equipped. We were on self catering basis so we had our breakfast and lunch there every day. With a 7 month old it was great for sorting their meals. The living room was so spacious and separate from the kitchen. Bedrooms were a great size and bed was very comfy. The apartment was cleaned daily with fresh towels every day. We had 2 sun loungers on the terrace overlooking the garden and a table with 2 chairs. Overall couldn’t fault the accommodation.
The resort itself is lovely, you have use of all of the Hilton facilities. To access the main pool and the restaurants we had to go down some steps which was a bit annoying with a buggy. There is access to one of the pools without steps but getting to the restaurant’s you do have some steps. We didn’t have any issues getting sun loungers but I would imagine during peak season there would be.
We ate a few evenings at the restaurant, food was really good although found it more expensive than the marina and it was a bit slow waiting for mains.
The shuttle is very handy to get the marina this is accessed from the front of the Hilton and they have a child seat if needed.
There is a Spar convenience store 15 mins walk if you need anything it’s well equipped.
Overall we loved our stay and while our little one is still small we’ll definitely be back.

We spent 9 days over Christmas in the As Cascatas resort, arriving on Dec 23rd. Having booked a double room, we were thrilled to find we had actually been allocated a 1 bed apartment. Loads of space and a fully stocked kitchen and 3 balconies. We booked half board so we went to the Hilton hotel for our breakfast and evening meal. As an As Cascatas guest you have a set menu with limited choices or you can choose from the main Hilton dinner menu spending 25 euro. The girl at reception in the Hilton told us we would have to pay an extra 90 euro each if we wanted an evening meal on New Year's Eve!!!! We declined as we felt that was a ridiculous price to pay and got a taxi to Villamoura Marina on NYE where we ate in one of the Chinese Restaurants overlooking the harbour. Fantastic value. We hired a car and played at the Villamoura tennis club a couple of times, 16 euro for an hour of tennis. There is no shop in the As Cacatas complex and the nearest shop is a good 15 mins walk. There are supermarkets about a 25 min walk away. The snooker/pool tables in the games rooms were out of action for some reason so very little to do in the complex itself. As we had the car we really enjoyed visiting various places, the Palace de Estoi, Faro, the Mar Shopping Centre, the golf course at Amendoiera where you can also play a short par 3 course rather than a full round of golf, which suited me perfectly. After the golf we had a snack on the terrace where the view was beautiful. Very reasonably priced. At the back of the kids playground in the As Cascatas complex is a hair salon/barber where Michael, a lovely man from Toronto, will look after your hair for extremely reasonable prices. Overall we really enjoyed our stay but without hiring a car it would not have been as good. Thank you As Cascatas

We couldn't fault any of our stays at these apartments. We have stayed both in the apartments and the hotel and would definitely recommend the apartments. That said the hotel is really good too.
The apartments have a separate pool to the hotel but you can walk down some steps and you can use all of the hotel amenities.
Beds are really comfortable and there is a daily maid service included.
2 beds have 2 bathrooms and a really large living area and well equipped kitchen.
Parking is free and plentiful.
Wifi is pretty good and while we had to pay for it during our earlier stays , it seems to be included during our last stay.
Courtesy bus every hour from the hotel reception to the marina and beech but be early as it fills up quickly.
The bar in the hotel could do with updating as the chairs and carpets have seen better days. Bar is expensive and draught beer is poor. Service in the bar is very very slow.
But overall we love this place and it keeps drawing us back.
Breakfast was included and was just a short walk from the apartments to the hotel. Huge range of breakfast options and its very very good.

We are a family of 2 adults, a teen, and 2 younger kids. We had one of the 2 bedroomed apartments, which also have a large living room, in which our teen could sleep on a couch bed. The breakfasts in the restaurant are excellent. The hotel has a very good location, around 5 minutes drive to the beach, and within 10-15 minute walking distance of other restaurants and the marina. Our youngest child enjoyed the kids club.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. We had a ground floor apartment which gave us a lovely view over the gardens. There are two loungers and a table with two chairs for sitting outside. But beware the mosquitoes in summer, they are relentless. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed several home cooked meals as eating out for two weeks is too much. The dish washer and washing machine got a lot of use. Serviced daily too. Very modern and well located about 3km from the Vilamoura Marina. There are actually 3 hotels on the premises which share facilities. There are two main pool areas which get very busy from early morning and a smaller adult only pool which we enjoyed. We used the gym every second day, which is situated in the Hilton hotel on the premises. It is fairly large and well equipped. We did not visit any of the restaurants or bars on the premises as we generally went out as we had a hired car. There is free under cover parking. There is good free Wi-Fi through out the premises.

We are 2 adults and two kids, 10 and 14, recently staying at As Cascatas in a ‘2-bed luxury apartment’. Just under €2k for 6-nights half board in late October. While of course not as luxurious as a top end 5-star hotel the price is a lot lower too, and we found this complex good value, especially compared to other options in the Algarve for higher prices with less facilities.
The apartment was a little scruffy looking and showing its age as other reviewers have noted (complex opened in 2007) but still decent quality and furnished fine. Furniture and fittings are not in new condition but apartment is spacious and has nice touches like master bedroom twin sinks and surround sound lg tv and audio system in main lounge. Colour schemes are dated but fine. Our room was cleaned every day.
Restaurant staff, reception and everywhere around the complex are super-friendly, accommodating and professional. The Portuguese staff are warm and welcoming and have a calm and quiet demeanour.
Cilantro restaurant is excellent and the half board menu really impressive. 3 course a la carte meal including several good vegan options. This really exceeded our expectations as we had assumed all meals would be buffet and it didn’t cost much extra. The lunch time bar / restaurant has standard pool food fare and is okay, but using the half board option for evening dinner is much better value.
Games room is nice for the kids the odd day of poor weather - table tennis table, pool table, air hockey are nice, with some very old school games arcades. Sometimes the machines swallow your coins without letting you play!
The spa is a gem, As Cascatas guests pay €25 for adults and €15 each for the kids to get in during family hours (945am - 1130am). It’s a very decent spa and well finished - and to allow kids in is something most places don’t even allow at all.
Outdoor pools are not heated but there’s a small heated indoor pool - more for kids really as quite shallow.
Rooms in As Cascatas not as opulent as in the Hilton but you get to use all the Hilton’s facilities so it’s a good value place to stay.
The gardens and outdoor areas are well-kept despite their age and everything was clean and tidy. There’s a spar mini-market shop 10 mins away and the odd restaurant. Willies is a Michelin gourmand restaurant right beside the property but we didn’t bother with it with the kids. We also had a car hire for the week which we could park for free beside reception.
Pinhal golf course just beside the resort also, just outside the Hilton lobby, you can rent clubs and shoes etc in the hotel lobby or at the clubhouse.
You will find more sparkling resorts but you will pay a lot more for them. This is a good value, well-run place with an excellent staff to look after you.

We found this little Gem back in 2017 having stayed at the Hilton end on many occasions, came back 2018 and 2019 and this holiday is the first time back since Covid due to travel restrictions.
Like all hotels in general, prices have more or less doubled which is disappointing. Many of the staff from back in the day from both the Hilton end and the As Cascatas end are no longer there from before Covid time, which is a shame.
If I am honest, the hotel (and Hilton side) has lost a little bit of the friendly feel it had. It did not feel the welcome upon arrival, or when speaking to the staff in general. It had a different feel this holiday.
Still a great place close to the Marina, but far enough away you have the peace. Spacious, house keeping are excellent everywhere clean, tidy and lovely.
Before Covid, they were cracking down on sun bed hoggers, placing towels down at 8, then going away for the morning. Despite the signs saying towels will be removed after an hour, those beds were lying empty for long periods, when you had couples and families looking for sun beds. It used to be a problem, then the cracked down on it, however the problem is back and very annoying.
I just hope that they control the prices a little, as if it keeps going up, may have to look else where.

Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we're sorry to hear that there were certain aspects of your stay that didn't meet your expectations. We recognize the importance of familiar and friendly staff members in creating a welcoming atmosphere, and we'll certainly take this into consideration as we continue to shape the guest experience. We’ve just returned from a week here and we’re really impressed. The suites are great. Loads of space in the living area and generous rooms. There’s a dishwasher and washing machine in the suites which is essential with the little ones.
We hired a travel cot from reception for the week. It had a decent mattress and could be carried through a door to relocate the sleeping baby. We could have done with a high chair but to be honest I didn’t think to check if we could rent one.
The indoor pool is great for swimming at this time of year. The outdoor pools aren’t heated so we stayed away from them as the kids are small and not that comfortable in water. The play ground is great. Large sand area with toys. Some climbing frames and 2 zip lines. We had planned to use the kids club but they don’t take under 4s which was disappointing for us.
You have full access to the Hilton facilities and we had spa access included (that we couldn’t really use because of the kids club situation) but I went alone and it’s really beautiful.
We only ate at the bar as the pool restaurant wasn’t open until we were leaving. The bar food wasn’t great. I’d would recommend going elsewhere if possible. It was hard to order anything and things were getting lost in translation.
Overall this is a great place for kids and I would 100% recommend.

We had a really lovely stay. The apartments are part of the Hilton hotel but with its own mini reception. We had everything we needed including a washing machine and dishwasher. The apartments were very spacious and the cleaners were like ninjas!
We paid for breakfast included which had lots of choice. And we booked for the Halloween buffet which our children loved! It was clean, staff were friendly and we had a very relaxing time. There were lots of pools including a main pool, teen pool, romantic pool, indoor pool which was warmer and a few others dotted about. There was a playground and kids club although we didn’t get around to using the kids club.
The gym was good and available 24hrs. There is a shuttle bus to and from the marina regularly, it was lovely to walk around and eat out. We also went on a boat trip where we saw the caves and dolphins and went parasailing. Also recommend visiting Quintaira, it’s easy and reasonable to get an Uber wherever you want to go.
Overall a really lovely trip and I would definitely visit again.
