The Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa garners compliments for its range of amenities including a spa and shuttle service, though attention to maintenance is suggested. Guests commend the spacious rooms but have noted some service inconsistencies. While opinions on value vary, with mixed feelings about restaurant pricing and amenity costs, the atmosphere is widely praised as vibrant and welcoming.
Its serene location near golfing delights many, despite minor sunbed concerns. Service is generally seen as friendly and professional, and the hotel's cleanliness stands out as a strong point.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
Well where do i start? I came in around 11.30 on a Monday from Faro Airport on a private transfer with BA holidays. I am sure there were other options that might of saved you a bit but mine as around £100.00 return in a plush motor.
On arrival at the hotel the main entrance is a circular small roundabout with Lovely entrance on one side and the Spa on the other. I did read here that the spa was a walk away but that seems to be a bit strange as it right opposite the entrance and if i crawled would take 1 minute :)
The reception area is on the left and wasn't busy and had about 3/4 members of staff.
Most looked up and smiled so i went to the nearest one. Easy check-in and amazingly the rooms was ready.
Personally i always packed my swimming shorts , flip/flops and new t shirt at the top of my suitcase as comes in handy to do a change and start my holiday.
The Hilton has an excellent changing rooms/ Showers and Wc right by the pool (where the indoor pool is). I might as well mention that there are two entrances from the outside pool both with arrows on the wall. Left and Right. Now actually this isn't correct as it it actually straight on through the doors to the indoor pool to the other side and that's were the changing rooms and also the outdoor/indoor pool toilets are are. (Hope that helps)
Anyway my room! Pool view deluxe was simply stunning and i did walk around the grounds (some lovely hidden places) and even the gold/garden views were lovely. It was on Level 3
The rooms has everything you need, A fridge to use, a Lovely bath , wc and bidet (Never really understand these but hey ( I didnt want to YouTube how to use it) A separate double shower and lovely sink.
TV has plenty of channels including the 5 Uk ones and others , my favorite was FOX movies.
Now as i bought a bottle of my favorite Jack Daniels , i decided to walk down the road to the nearest supermaket SPA which i think was about 10 mins. ITs not too far and stocked up on Coke zero, crisps wtc. Now that fridge came in handy.
Got back to my room and each level has Two ice machines at near the ends of each level. Top Tip Level 4 is shorter so actually popping up a level and going left its at the end. Also there are no ice buckets but the house keeping staff/trolleys have plastic smallish bin liners , so perfect.
Back in the room , JD and coke with Ice. Now i am on Holiday.
There are technically 6 pools (if you include the paddling one ) but the main pool and Waterfall pool seemed to used the most. There is another hotel attached to the rear , so there is a square pool there which you can use (This must be part of the Hilton complex. Oh Another is the Romantic pool up some steps. Intrigued i ventured to see what this sectret place might be . There was a couple of people there and its says No Children!)
Aha Adults only pool. Was a bit hot for any romance :)
You are given a towel pool card at reception and this you can exchange all day by the pool which is next to the Dome shaped Pool Bar. Great selections of drinks and food and go for the 1ltr Sangria and Beef Hamburger Both lovely but cant remember much of the Hamburger lol but it did come with chips.
There is also a covered restaurant next to the pool and was popular for lunch. (open all day )
A few hours later and it dinner time. I was on Half Board so went to the restaurant right next to reception. I had vouchers (received on checking) and handed it over. You can book a time with reception which i did on some night and other just turned up. Both were fine for me as i would of waited if busy but didn't need too.
The menu that others others were disappointed with was absolutely perfect for me. A choice of between there started, three mains and two desserts. Can i say that every evening the choices were amazing and if you see lamb chops, go for them!
All drinks are chargeable even the water which is fine but maybe ask for a small bottle of water if you only want a couple of glasses. All wines were lovely and Rui gave me some PORT on my last night which was so good and a kind free gesture.
Breakfast buffet a delight, Omelets lovely
For me all the staff were like others say , what makes any hotel and thank you everyone from the unseen heroes of the chefs, housekeeping, gardens workers to the everyday staff who make the trip that bit special.
A special mention to the Evening Restaurant team (You can go a la carte of course) who were exceptional for me . Ivor, RUI (again!) Gabrielli, Germano, Rebeca and Maria!
I think that was about it. Oh you need to use your keycard when you step into the lift from reception then you can press the floor button. I liked that for security :)
Oh for me i didn't use the shuttle as the UBER app was a perfect. 3.35 euro for a single trip to the marina and i didn't have to worry about missing the shuttle.
I didn't leave until 5pm as had an evening flight on my check-out day and of course gave up my room at 12pm . They kindly held my luggage and could use the pool for the next 5 hours. Then popped to the pool changing rooms (mentioned earlier)and had a shower and got ready for my return trip.
Thank you Hilton, you did not disappoint.

This is a lovely hotel with a wonderful spa and great golf course right next door. The front desk staff are very efficient and super helpful and friendly. The bar serves incredible cocktails and is a great place for pre-dinner drinks. Overall this hotel has all the hallmarks of a great hotel.
But then there is the housekeeping which quite frankly is well below what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. There are few things that annoy me more than returning to a hotel room at 3.30 or 4pm to find the room has still not been serviced. Even after we requested the room to be cleaned at 11am everyday this still continued. This is just unacceptable especially since we would vacate the room for 4-5 hours at a time.
This incompetence was evidenced even further by the dirty state that all the outside furniture was in. I realise it is winter but it is certainly warm enough to sit outside and enjoy a drink in the sun. It won’t take much effort to clean all the tables and then get the restaurant staff to serve those who sit outside. It seemed the housekeeping team was grossly under staffed, letting everyone else who worked really hard at the hotel down.

Lost count of my stays at this hotel and my endless 5stars. So this is a change, maybe the manager instead of simply writing a we must do better after this review, he might actually pay attention to a HH Diamond member and and HGV Elite Premier member.
Check in smooth, we were using HGV points and had a one bedroom apartment, opened the door, it smelt awful, it looked dull and rundown in need of a full refit. The air conditioning sounded like a small car, the bed creaked. We called front desk, they offered to spray air freshener.
A temporary fix by the next day the smell was back, let's cheer ourselves up with our favourite a Hilton breakfast. Oh wow, the buffet was closed, no sign of Kevin, tables cleared, the room looked like my old school canteen. I had just moved from the Conrad Algarve who had full buffet breakfast in place but instead of serving yourself, staff put the food on your plate.
So there was a menu on our table to choose from, while we were choosing a waiter arrived with an "afternoon tea" plate with some bread, ham and fruit. That was it. Ok move on, my wife and I ordered our omelettes, we both ordered bacon on the side, the waiter told my wife I would get enough for two and we could share. The omelettes arrived, both wrong, my wife on a small plate which I had to scrape my bacon unto for her to share. Two cups of black coffee, the milk didn't arrive and no offer to refill. Awful. Just awful. The rest of the week we walked to Sailors Corner for beautiful cooked breakfast for €7.
To cheer ourselves up we took the bus to the Hilton Beachclub, expecting our normal HH welcome water, pringles, oh no.. the beach towels are no longer available at the beach.. You are welcome to lie on a bed sir.
Enough I walked back to the hotel, the receptionist was not that interested, telling me there had never been beach towels available at the beach, it was in my letter. Those fateful words 'let me speak to a manager"
Out she came and the world was put right, she took onboard the point about no beach towels at the beach, the health risks of people then carrying used towels back on the bus others use immediately to go back to the Marina. Within minutes she had us moved to a much better two bedroom pool view apartment and no charge was made for the awful breakfast experience. The next six days was back to my Hilton experience, well done to that manager. I don't know her name.
You need to upgrade the apartments, you need to restore your breakfast experience, you need to clean the minibus after each run, you need beach towels at the beach.
See you soon

With tourism permitted we jumped on the first flight we could out of London to the Hilton Vilamoura.
As Hilton Diamond members, we were checked in by Dina- whose infectious charm and personality were a joy to behold. She found us a two room apartment (some upgrade to our booked King Room), gave us drinks vouchers, gave us an introduction to the area.
Despite the warnings on the Hilton website, the hotel facilities were happily all open. You are asked to book a time for breakfast to help manage the flow, which helped to some extent. You sit outside in a lovely setting although the whole breakfast struggles to keep up.
It would probably be easier to find an orange on a nearby tree than it is to find a member of staff to top up the tiny glass of orange juice. The buffet is self service though they are militant that every guest must use the alcohol gel before touching anything.
Despite several visits to the buffet, not once did I manage to try the pancakes which was a shame (they were always finished).
We also got a welcome drink as a thank you for being Diamond members.
All in all this hotel represented outstanding value for a much needed getaway.
My thanks to Pedro who delivered a bucket of ice to the room as the ice machine was broken, and also managed to extend check out time to 2pm for us. Both of these were highly appreciated.

I am writing this review mid-stay, as I have been so impressed with the staff today. Dina was so helpful when we had difficulty booking our return COVID tests. She called around for a half hour until she secured our appointments - she was beyond friendly and so helpful.
The resort is beautiful, the pool area is very prettily landscaped and the pool area is attractive with a shelving area, perfect for little ones, to one side. There is a beautiful spa, we have appointments booked tomorrow. Breakfast is wonderful. Great hot and cold choices. And very COVID aware. Hand sanitiser and plastic gloves required to visit the buffet - rigorously enforced. The two Brunos at reception, Adrian at the pool bar and Nidia in the golf shop were are smiley and efficient.
I would advise booking your return COVID tests as soon as you can. It was difficult for us to get tests, and the area is not even busy yet. I don’t see how the limited availability will be sufficient once the resort starts to gears up for season.

On arrival we were very impressed, the hotel grounds and our suite was lovely, even better than the pictures online. We had family suite which was very spacious with 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies.
The pools were all great but the top pool was our favorite and definitely one to go to if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.
There was a bit of a scramble for sunbeds in the morning particularly at the main pool, I feel this is more of a reflection on the guests rather than the hotel and staff.
The location is s bit out of the way however the hotel run a great shuttle throughout the day, this gets to the marina and the beach in approx 5 minutes.
Fabulous dining options, great service at Breakfsst in the morning in the main restaurant.
For lunch we ate at Aquarlea most days, the cave setting is lovely and there was a great selection on the menu. We particularly liked Tapas by the Sea which is the hotels restaurant at the beach. Lovely food and friendly service.
The hotel had COVID measures in place such as hand sanitizing stations, gloves at the buffet and social distancing. Over all the hotel have a done a great job of reopening. We hope to return soon.

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying at the Hilton Vilamoura and sharing your recent holiday experience with the traveling community. We are thrilled you were particularly impressed with the accommodations and dining options, and would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the amazing feedback which really motivated our teams. We are confident that service delivery will continue to improve with the opening of new outlets and staffing adjustments. We know that the pool area is the resort’s family hot spot but managing it efficiently will also depend on how much cooperation we get from our guests, as you so graciously pointed out. We would also like to thank you for acknowledging our Covid safety measures. Much like the pool situation, compliance with the sanitary rules also depends on everyone’s cooperation. Thank you so much again for acknowledging our efforts during this challenging time and we look forward to welcoming you and your family back again soon. Kind regards, Nuno Braga Lopes general manager

Stayed here 4 times now and on every occasion staff, hotel and stay have been wonderful.
I am a HH diamond member and on arrival asked if there were any upgrades to a two bed apartment as I was upgraded on last visit with my daughter.
I was pleasantly surprised to be given the upgrade by Bruno (reception) without any hassle, hats off to this staff member, due to the situation with COVID I was a little anxious as I didn’t know rules etc but he explained everything clearly and put my mind at rest.
Hats off to this hotel!! We felt very safe here hand sanitizers are placed around hotel, masks are provided on arrival and even the lack of buffet breakfast and Spa didn’t dampen our 7 night stay.
Staff at breakfast were friendly, one though never smiled ... even though your behind a mask you can recognise a smile.
Rooms are cleaned every 3 days while COVID is around but if extra towels are needed etc . They are promptly brought to room.
If you do visit hotel beach take pool towel with as there not provided at beach, this didn’t bother us and happily took the pool ones down.
Will be staying here again hopefully in better circumstances next time.

We are staying at the Hilton Vilamoura with our 3 year old and have had the most wonderful time despite the Covid restrictions. We have been treated wonderfully by the staff who have all been exceptionally friendly. Covid measures in place have been balanced out with the hotel offering free room service as unfortunately there is no mini bar. Breakfast is probably better as you are served all the usual items but by a member of staff. Mask must be worn in common areas and walking to rooms, lavatories etc but only makes you feel safer. The sun loungers are sanitised after use. Rooms are still cleaned and the children's play park is still open. What a great holiday! Thank you for having us and we would definitely book to stay here again 😊

We got to the hotel and Sujan (FO trainee) welcomed us for the check in, that provided us and upgrate to and apartament (thank you!) .
The bellboy/Vallet was very kind and always Willing to help with a smile.
We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant although it took a while to get our orders.
Margarida made sure to check my food intolerances un a very professional way and I could enjoy the dinner.
Breakfast was very good and diverse and we had a delicious omelette. The gluten free bread was one of the bests I have ever had :)
Although the entrance of the resort seems a bit of an amusement park, the appartment had everything we needed and it was a very relaxant stay.
We could easily visit the Algarve area and enjoy its food and nature.
Thank you!

My husband and I booked this hotel as soon as Portugal was put on the green list for travel after lockdown during COVID. However, a week before departure it was placed in amber. We choose to come out, take all the tests and isolate for 10 days after our holiday and we are really glad we made this decision.
From the start Vasco on reception greeted us and was very professional and friendly. Arriving in our room, which was very large with a separate lounge area, two balconies and a huge bath, we were greeted by the sight of a large tray of chocolate dipped strawberries and a bottle of cava! We felt they knew us already!
We dined at the Cilantro restaurant and as I had emailed ahead that I was coeliac and needed a gluten free diet, they were prepared for us. I was offered sea bass as an alternative which was delicious. Margarita had asked what I preferred to eat and the chef kindly cooked the whole meal gluten free for me.
This happened every night in the restaurant with such thought going into food options that I felt very pampered and enjoyed some of the best gluten free meals I’ve ever eaten. We were looked after by Rui, Igor, Margarita, Paula and Joal who made our holiday very memorable. Igor and Rui also prepared a special evening for us on our anniversary, with our favourite table decorated with hearts and a special menu created by the amazing chef who came out to meet us. It was so lovely and so appreciated. The team in this restaurant are really special.
My gluten free experience didn’t stop at this restaurant. In the the Ruby bar our waitress Patricia, always checked gluten free options for me and the chef hand cooked all my ingredients separately from scratch for my club sandwiches. At the breakfast it was the same. Paula made sure I had gf toast and muffins daily. Paula also known as ‘The Enforcer’ by my husband , because she ensured everything remained COVID safe in the breakfast buffet! Visitors please do your bit and use the hand sanitiser and gloves before serving yourself. Give Paula a break from having to keep asking you to do this. It’s all for everyone’s safety. Paula was amazing at keeping us safe.
Thank you all for an amazing holiday. First rate staff, we will return!
