Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Ok so we couldn’t find any recent reviews for Zarco anywhere and my oh my we searched. The photos looked decent so we rolled the dice and stayed there. So glad we did. This is a super little 3 storey complex. All the good later but first the bad:
Travelling with an 18 month old we wanted ground floor accommodation. Numerous emails back and forth preceding the holiday confirmed our request. We arrive to be told ground floor not available for the first 3 nights, Grrrr. The in house management were loosely sympathetic; the outside management were completely unsympathetic, to the point of being bang out of order. We were offered a 5 euro discount per night with very much a take it or leave it attitude. We decided to stay and were glad we did. Just be aware if you have any issue at the hotel you may be left frustrated and annoyed at their attitude. Not typically Portuguese I would add and the fault is with the Hotel’s management.
So the good and there was lots of it. These apartments are ridiculously quiet. Fantastic for a toddler (ours slept 10-12 hours straight every night) which meant we slept too. The cleaning was superb and I mean superb, Every single day, fresh towels, floors mopped etc. Swimming Pools immaculate and the garden lush and green.
Ok no restaurant on-site but you can get coffee for 60 cents and ice creams, cold drinks etc all around the 1 euro mark. There is a supermarket literally just around the corner and a few local restaurants. The best by far being A Carpa which does great simple food at a good price. Parky’s is, well what it is. Plenty of reviews of Parky’s on the net but I will just say we enjoyed a number of drinks there and found the entertainment of a comedy value (even tho it’s not meant to be )
Zarco’s is about 30 mins walk to the Marina, pleasant enough in the evening but tough in the afternoon sun. The Marina remains overpriced for meals so try the back streets for better food and prices. Highly recommend Sun Dragon Chinese, set buffet price of 9.90 euro, Food cooked fresh and was very very nice. Also ask for Concorde restaurant, great food in a nice square. There is also a bar a couple down from here ran by Al.
Zarco’s is part of a Portuguese chain called Clube Interpass which offers membership in Portugal and members can then stay at the differing hotels for cheap rates. This would explain the lack of reviews available as it has mainly Portuguese guests.

Apartments were a good size, had everything we needed, clean towels every day, bed made every day, safe and quiet and only 20 mins walk to the marina or 5 minutes in the free shuttle bus which leaves and picks up 4 times a day. The service was second to none, especially Miguel and Sara who could not have done enough for you. The grottoes boat cruise to the caves is fantastic and the aqua show water park is a must if you have kids. It is such a lovely atmosphere and although it was 3 star apartments, it is a good 3 star apartments. If you want 5 star - book 5 star but as far as 3 star apartments go if you want a lovely cheap apartment, clean and quiet with a pool, this is the place for you. We will definitely return. Thank you Zarco apartments and all staff for making my first holiday abroad a memorable one.

What can i say other than we had a fabulous time here. Immaculate to say the least, maid service every day with fresh towels. Staff friendly and accomadating, close enough to a bar, restaurants and shop. A bit of a walk to the marina so if you don't want to have to walk a lot then it wouldn't be for you but taxis were only 5/6 euro so what more do you want. We are just back and it was portuguese holiday season so no British at the pool (we enjoyed this but not our son who wanted to make friends). So overall a fab spot, definately would return but maybe in June or July.

So before I stayed here, I stayed in the Rio apartments for 2 weeks and I had the worst experience - they both have the same official ratings as 3 stars so when I came here I was expecting the same and was not looking forward to it.
However, when I got here, I was greeted by the most lovely lady. I was staying here for 1 month and my mum came along for a couple of days and they allowed her to stay for free and then they allowed my cousin to come stay for a week and a half for no cost.
I moved into my room which was at the back with no view of the pool and because of this, the woman came and asked if I wanted to switch rooms since I was staying for so long and they didn't realise which room I had - this made me feel very glad I chose this hotel as it showed they really did care about every guests experience no matter what they were here to do.
The cleaning is amazing here, the change the towels every day, ifni left to go to work without doing the dishes they would do them for me which I did not ever in a million years expect.
The food here is also really good considering.
The distance from here to the marina is about a half an hour walk or if you would rather, there are rental bikes right outside at the car park!
Considering everything that I had in the month I was here, I would NOT expect this hotel to be a 3* as it delivers such an amazing service in every aspect.
Cannot recommend this hotel enough, when my family visit or friends I will recommend this hotel straight away!

Arrived at 11am - room not supposed to be ready until 4pm - had 1 by 2 upgraded to a pool view Reception staff lovely & helpful Pool area quiet & loads of grass space if you wanted a quiet corner Umbrellas - only 5 but we managed to get 1 every day & there's plenty of shady places u could move your bed 2 Has a main pool & baby pool - both cold but good when it's HOT! Main pool average size rectangle & from 1.1M - 1.6M Snacks available until 1am - there's 2 cafes near Spar that are cheaper though , but they looked nice Spar a 2 min walk & a larger supermarket about a 15 min walk & another 10 mins - near Marina a even bigger 1 Marina approx 2000M walk all flat & easy when u figure it out! We had 1 bed apartment - cleaned daily & fresh towels - microwave, kettle & hairdryer (not very good though) TV had a few English channels to watch while getting ready WiFi was 1 of the best I've ever had! & free!! Reclining sunbeds - padded cushions available but not for every bed Air con in bedroom & living room Shower excellent! Would come again!!!

We spent a wonderful 10 days at the Zarco Apartments near Vilamoura. We had a spacious one bed apartment which was spotlessly clean with a living room with TV and large leather sofa bed and a table and 4 chairs with a very nice balcony. The bedroom had two single beds and fitted wardrobes with a lovely ensuite bathroom with shower above the bath which was all tastefully decorated. The seperate kitchen was fully equipped with a large fridge, 4 ring electric hob and everything you'd need to make a meal for four as well as a kettle, toaster, juicer and coffee machine. The staff at the Zarco were very welcoming and friendly indeed and really made every effort to help make our stay extra special. The pool and grounds were perfect with plenty of sun loungers to go round with a bar serving drinks and snacks all at resonable prices. Vilamoura Marina is a good 25mins walk away with plenty of restaurants and watering holes to choose from, but there is also a handful of excellant places to eat and drink within 5mins walk. The nearest beach Praia de Feliesia is also only 20mins walk away and is absolutely stunning with plenty of room and sun loungers stretching all the way to Albufiera with numerous bars and restaurants along the way. We both loved our stay here and would highly recommend the Zarco Apartments and look forward to visiting again soon..

Just back from staying here for a week . If you want a quiet location but great service this is the place . Couldn't say enough about the lovely friendly helpful staff here . The girls on reception were very helpful .The apartments are spotlessly clean and spacious . You can walk into Villamoura through a wonderful park down the centre of the road . Nice little bar area where you can get drinks and snacks. Great pool area and garden. Would definitely come back here again . A big thank you to everybody at this hotel

Got home last night after a weeks stay in this hotel, already miss the place. Staff were more than helpful, very polite and friendly. Cleaners were in every day making beds, changing towels and changing bed sheets every other. A quiet area located 20 minutes walk away from the marina. Taxis were €5 to the marina of the walk is too much or the hotel staff offer a shuttle service every 10 minutes past the hour until 4pm. Bar food was as you'd expect for bar food. Would recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere quiet and out of the way of nightlife. Will be returning one day.

I cant praise these apartments enough ....great staff ,,,very clean ....lots of towels provided every day ..plenty of toilet rolls ........microwave ...kettle ..toaster ...coffee maker ..hairdryer....air conditioning .....with no extra charge plus free mini bus 4 times daily to the marina .but the walk to the marina is really nice it takes approx. 25 minutes along a lovely path with gardens at both sides .we will deffinatly be going back

Checkout is 11am but you can leave your luggage securely at hotel. We did go this time last year and the weather was fantastic but the locals were saying they have had a bad year this year. Weather was brilliant 3 week ago so check forecast. We didn’t take jackets
