We picked pomegranates and oranges on the site, which we were thrilled about. There were also quince pear trees, but we weren't sure what to do with them.
The fig trees had been stripped unfortunately (and I love figs!).
Swam in the pools on site and ate in the restaurant on site.
Pool bar is so romantic for late night cocktails.
We went in to Vilamoura Marina, to Quarteria and Loule markets, and Albufeira beach. We swam at Olhos do Agua, and sunbathed around the pool - but really we just wanted to sit on our terrace, drink wine, and enjoy the peace of Aldeia. The way this Trip Advisor page is set up is odd, this is not a hotel site, but a touristic village of unique houses in a garden setting.
For the price of the accommodation we were very pleasantly surprised we opted for a 2 bed superior house, and found this very spacious and ideal for our needs. The kitchen was very well equipped and the place throughout was lovely decor and very clean.
The pool was immaculately clean every day, (although there is a lack of furniture or sun beds around the pool) and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The on site shop is well stocked and a nice coffee bar too which was very cheap, and had lovely staff who also spoke English very well.
The location itself is spot on, only a 5 minute drive to the marina, and 2 minutes from the main road to take you further along the coast to Albufeira etc. The only noise we could hear was the odd car, and plane overhead - but certainly not loud enough to be an inconvenience.
The only criticisms I have was the lack of wifi - my husband and I needed to do a small amount of work and needed to check emails etc, Despite being advertised with wifi the connection was non-existent, even after checking with reception that everything was OK nothing improved. We eventually travelled to the Vodafone shop in the Algarve shopping centre and bought a pay as you go wifi stick. Naturally if we had known sooner of the lack of wifi on site we would have prepared accordingly in advance. Although we did find out that some bars around the marina and mcdonalds provided free wifi.
We were also a little disappointed that we were unable to pay for our accommodation by credit card, the machine that the reception had either needed updating or wasn't working properly, so after a long journey we had to travel into the marina to find a cash point so we could pay. Although the lady on reception was very nice and kindly gave us the keys beforehand so we could at least empty the car of our luggage etc.
But all in all, a great 5 days and I would definitely book to go there again.
