You definetely need a car to get to the hotel. We have stayed for a few days. The whole staff was super friendly and nice. They answered all our questions and paid a high attention to the hygine standards. We were amazed how cozy the suite is. Everyday we enjoyed the coffe from our big balcony with a amazing view. We have also noticed that the hotel is pet-friendly, so should have taken our dog with us.

The hotel is lovely situated in a calm area, just few minute driving from the highway. We were accommodated in a suite with a living room, one sleeping room and a kitchen. We really adore the view from the balcony, which was actually pretty huge. We definitely recommend the place to people who are looking for a calm, quiet hotel with a good service.

We stayed 4 nights at this accommodation, before leaving for the Lagos area, where we had another Pension.
It was a good choice, which allowed us to change scenery and stay in a more rustic and relaxing setting.
Instead of a building with elevator, we had villas, with backyard, where we heard birds singing and had regular visits from some adorable cats.
There are not many rooms, so tranquility is assured.
There were enough parking spaces, very close to the rooms.
The pool and spa, very nice, and the Breakfast Lounge were a few steps from the room. Breakfast varieties could, however, be improved.
For those who prefer to prepare their own meals, there is a full kitchen in the room.
The room was spacious, a bit vintage, but that was no problem.
Bathroom products (soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion) were of high quality (one of my favorite brands in Portugal).
Housekeeping could be improved. It was not dramatic, but take it as a constructive criticism.
A shuttle to the cliff beach (Praia da Falésia) is offered, but we did not use this service.
In view of the risk of forest fires, which are very present in Portugal, we recommend that the Inn management pay special attention to the swimming pool and Breakfast Lounge. An employee told me that smoking is not allowed, but I saw cigarette butts on the floor, which means that customers are not complying with this prohibition, which can be very dangerous, since the vegetation right next door is very dry, so at risk. We don't want your beautiful Inn to be set on fire.
Also, there is a lot of garbage in the lot next to the terrace. Maybe it's going downwind, maybe it's customers who threw them away. Anyway, it's not beautiful. Maybe we should put more garbage in the corner of the restaurant.
Finally, we liked our stay and would be ready to return.
Many thanks to Delphine (or Delfine?) and Carla, who welcomed us, upon our arrival.

The ceghona country club is situated just inside villamoura, so driving to the coast is about 15 minutes. Therefore would recommend having a car. If you do it is really well located for easily visiting villamoura and albufeira. We stayed in a premium apartment, which had bifold doors out onto a private patio and garden .The pictures on the website are very accurate and the quality of the accommodation superb. It is not a large site, so very peaceful with only the frogs and birds making a noise.
Unexpectedly each evening, staff delivered a box of breakfast for next day. This was not listed on our booking and was a welcome surprise. A few hundred yards away was a nature reserve which was lovely to have a stroll around too.
Overall, and experimental place and all the staff super friendly too. We will stay again

Absolutely loved this place. We booked a suite which was a well equipped and spacious apartment with cooking facilities, living/dining room and large garden area.

The complex was incredibly tranquil and the grounds immaculate. Breakfast was free and the food superb. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We didn't take part in any of the free activities but there were plenty to enjoy if you have time. The small fitness area was nice but would benefit from some air con/fans, additionally some of the equipment required maintenance.

The complex is located a couple of miles from Vilamoura marina so you would probably need a car, it can be walked but will take about 45 minutes.

Beautiful house, very clean and comfortable. It should only be noted that we liked the kitchen to be connected to the living room and not have the window covered. Hotel well located, close to supermarkets and quiet at this time of year. Tennis court and playground, very well maintained gardens and swimming pool, very friendly staff. A place to repeat.

My favourite thing about the resort was Miguel’s Pure Cafe. I came to do a juice/ soup detox and rather than getting the wellness package, decided to order myself as I wanted them. The juices and soups were delicious and well priced. Miguel was kind and accommodating. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Lovely suite with terrace.
Quiet break.
10 minutes from city centre by car. Easy to use Uber.
Also the talks with Rosana were great and yoga with Rita and the other teacher. Classes were really good.
Spa was lovely. Mum had a massage that was great. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
I will be back.

This accommodation was a great surprise. Well cared for, with a great location for those seeking rest and tranquility. Well equipped. Super friendly staff especially the lady of the spa, who explained to us the machines and the spa circuit in detail.

The staff here are amazing ! So helpful :) most thanks to Miguel at the Pine Cafe who works so hard from 7 until 10 every day He and chef are amazing and go out of their way to be helpful and kind. Nothing is too much effort. The food is amazing as well.
We came for a detox week booked through Wellness Travel and I lost 3 kg without trying too hard. The room we had was lovely and the reception staff wonderful. I really recommend this place and it’s 10 minutes from Villamoura so close to the beach. It is worth hiring a car as there is lots of cute beaches to go to.

Let’s start at the beginning. I booked this club as I had a great deal come through from one of those holiday weekly emails. I wanted somewhere in the sun but I’m abit fussy. I wanted somewhere quiet, adults only, and not a lot of them! When I’ve holidayed in Portugal before it’s been in a villa with friends so I’ve been abit spoiled. When I saw this deal the club looked ideal for me. Not only was it adults only the club only has 30 or so apartments so no not terribly busy. Thanks to french air traffic control I was a day late but I’d emailed the club and they said no problem, see you soon. On arrival I had a warm welcome from Cristiano and showed to my apartment. I then had a quick tour of the complex to get my bearings. Do ask for a quick tour as it will help you find your way. My apartment was facing the pond and it was perfect. The aircon in all rooms was blissful. The only criticism I have of the room was whilst it had a wonderful balcony it offered no shade from 1pm onwards. I’m not sun worshipper so a small umbrella would have been lovely. As one reviewer mentioned the beds are VERY firm but I slept well. If you want some extra padding try using the duvet as a mattress topper and use the flat sheet and light blanket from the cupboard to cover you at night. If you have the aircon on then you will need some cover as it will get chilly.

The grounds are immaculate and well maintained. The pool area is just lovely. Next to it is the cafe where you have your meals. Let’s talk food. The club caters for the more health conscious customer. If you think you’ll have a full cooked breakfast each day and burger and fries for dinner you won’t. What you will have is delicious, healthy fresh food. Breakfast is a continental style but offers scrambled eggs. The cafe menu is abit vague as it’s changed daily so if you don’t mind just having two choices of meat or fish you’ll be happy. The portions are extremely generous and incredibly tasty. I didn’t go hungry. If your diet isn’t that healthy to start with you may feel hungry. One previous reviewer mentioned begging for rice. Rice was a staple in the hot evening meals. Alcohol is limited here so that may put some people off. They have wine and I had a bottle of Super Bock with dinner. What you won’t get is rip roaringly drunk whilst staying here. If you want more than healthy food then there is a BP garage just a few minutes walk away with various illicit naughties (I “may” have made a visit for Super Bock for the apartment fridge, I’m not a saint!) Tip - ask Alina to make you a wonderful fresh lemonade.

Lots of people here are on a wellness package so don’t be surprised to see people have soup for dinner and then be done. They have a programme for a detox if that’s your thing.

I had two massages whilst I was here. The second was because the first was so wonderful. Tip - if you want therapies book before you go. I arrived and couldn’t get one for two days and then another two days for my next one. The therapies are popular but worth the wait. Book to see the lovely Bruna, you want regret it

They also have complimentary activities such as yoga and Pilates. Have a look at the sample on their website and definitely go to them. They break up the day and it’s a retreat from the heat. Today I did the astrology workshop and alternative medicine. Both very good.

This club is solo, female traveller friendly. That’s a massive plus point for me. You wont find your bargain loving, boozie brits here. What you will find is a relaxing, holistic, healthy club with super friendly staff. The location is a little remote but Uber are in the area and it’s just €9 into villamoura and there’s a bus stop outside so you aren’t stranded. WiFi is plentiful here and reliable. Tip - bring a travel iron. Whilst the club supply them they are never returned promptly so bring an iron and you can make a small fortune hiring it out.

The only niggle from the whole stay is guests who hog loungers. Guests will sunbathe for a few hours then disappear and their Towels stay out for hours on end and they never appear. If you aren’t going to use the lounger free it up as someone will always need it.

Cegonha was the perfect antidote to an incredibly busy past few months of work and home life. I arrived feeling tired and weary and left feeling refreshed and energised. I’m already planning my return next year. Obrigada!
