Detailed Reviews
Booked this resort with a tour operator for a Christmas break. On arrival resort found to be closed as no reception staff on site. Snack bar and Bar both closed for winter as now out of season. Eventually got checked in with receptionist who came from a sister hotel.
Room 302 a second floor apartment very well equipped for self catering holiday with everything you needed and spotlessly clean. A welcome pack of goodies provided which was a nice touch.
I saw no body on site at the resort in 12 hours I was there, this resort is closed over winter and should not be sold as a resort. It's a ghost town.
The holiday rep suggested I needed a car when staying where and this is a 'base' only. This of course is not mentioned on the holiday brochures.
There is a Spar shop 5-10 minutes walk away, also a cafe and Indian restaurant.
There is a bus stop outside the resort going to Vilamoura but no bus timetable. I walked into town 50 minutes to the centre.
I stayed here one night of a seven night holiday company package before checking out of this ghost town and moved to a hotel in central Vilamoura.
Wouldn't recommend out of season as its a ghost town.

I really enjoyed my stay at prado do golf. Me and my family stayed in a superior two bedroom apartment which was spotless. It has everything we needed, the views were beautiful over the woodland behind the property. Staff were very friendly. The average taxi cost us 8-10 euros in and out of the marina and the taxi service was excellent we were never waiting long, the taxis arrived within minutes. I have stayed in the marina and i preferred staying at prado do golf as it was more peacful and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The shop is a 5min walk and had a lovely cafe. The only recommendation would make would be that the pool area needs attention. Weeds growing from the tiles, the tiles need washed down and the sun loungers need cleaned at the end of the day and in the morning. I seen the cleaners just wiping them quickly however they need more attention. Other than that i would definitely come back again.

Stayed here for 12 nights in November, and we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodation we were allocated. We had one of the refurbished two bedroomed apartments, which was great. It was very clean and spacious with a fantastic bathroom lounge/kitchen area and two decent sized bedrooms. We had a washing machine which was very useful and a dishwasher which would have been very welcome if we had cooked meals ourselves. We were very disappointed that the pool was not heated and therefore unusable during our stay due to the temperature of the water (Arctic). The bar area was nice and did food on request but can't comment on that as we didn't use it apart from our included breakfast via Jet2. There was ample parking for our car and the reception was there with limited opening hours for any problems or to help with any local information needed. There were two supermarkets close by and a bus stop right outside the entrance. I'm sure during peak season the place would be lively and the pool great to use but there was hardly anyone around whilst were there so seemed a little desolate.

Our family of 4 has just returned from a fantastic week at Prado Do Golf. Arriving almost 6 hours before check-in opened, I assumed we’d be stuck hanging onto our luggage for a while, however we were kindly shown straight to our apartment which was spotless and incredibly well equipped. Separate AC units in all rooms was really handy and we weren’t aware the apartment included a washing machine, which was a major bonus to save a few loads of washing when we got home! Staff were all really friendly, with our 2 young children in particular which always makes a massive difference.
Really convenient and quiet location - a decent sized Spar is a 5min walk away and getting Ubers to and from the marina was never more than 6 or 7 Euros even at busy times. One thing worth noting is that the poolside bar and bistro is cash only, although the Spar also has an ATM so it’s not much of an issue.
Having stayed at several self-catering hotels around Vilamoura over the years I would happily recommend PDG as my favourite and somewhere I definitely plan to stay again in the future.

Villa was value for money, complex is in a good location
We visited for a relaxing golf trip
Steve and Dianna that run the pool bar/restaurant deliver “next level” customer service and truly made our holiday!
They make you feel like you’ve been invited you into their family home. Food great, drinks good but the local recommendations and friendly banter earn these guys 10 stars (if I could give more than 5)
I feel the only way to describe the level of service they provide is to share this example...
After a heavy nights drinking we settled the bill and found the prices very reasonable for what we paid. The next evening when we arrived at the bar, we were greeted with an envelope of 100euros and a friendly joke about how we can’t add up due to accidentally overpaying.
Couldn’t recommend this place more

An absolute little gem of a place. We stayed for a week at the beginning of November for a last minute break and it was our 1st visit to Portugal and it was delghtful from start to finish. We arrived around mid day due to an early flight, check in should of been after 4pm however our villa was ready. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, Mariella, who gave us all the information we needed and made us feel welcome straight away.
Our villa was a 2 bedroom superior however we only booked a 1 bedroom and it was amazing. It was extremely well equipped with everything needed for a self catering holiday. It was spotlessly clean, so much so, I had to put a sticking plaster as a warning, on the terrace door to avoid walking into it accidentally when closed because it it was so clean that it looked open!
Cleaning products were supplied along with a few dish washer tablets and room cleaning service with fresh towels and toilet roll supplies was every 2 days if wanted.
The beds were very comfortable with extra pillows and blankets and AC or heating in all the rooms which was great as it was a bit cooler at night so the heating was very welcome.
The area was well maintained and very quiet. There was a little bit of noise from gardening and power tools sometimes during the day but it was not intrusive or at all bothersome. Some of the villas were being rennovated however this was only really apparent from seeing the old equipment outside that was being replaced and this is to be expected at this time of year when the holiday season has officially ended.
Vilamoura is a very quiet little town with not much to do except relax. We love to walk so spent much of our time exploring the beaches and marina which are about an hours walk away but you can get a bus or an Uber very cheaply.
Vilamoura gives priority to the pedestrian over the car with a beautiful designated pathway for walkers, cyclists and joggers that goes all the way to the beaches and marina along with zebra crossings at quite literally EVERY road crossing point and the cars almost always stop as soon as they see a pedestrian so it was incredibly safe to navigate.
We didn't use the pool area but it did look nice and clean and tidy, and also a small bistro bar serving drinks, ice creams, snacks etc.
For a peaceful, quiet, relaxing chilled out holiday with lovely warm friendly staff this place is a little gem of a find and we highly recommend it.

Little gem in Vilamoura, apartment E was our first given place which wasn't good for my elderly father as the small path was a little bit rocky when I brought this up the next morning we were instantly moved to a new apartment D2 our holiday started after that.
The apartment itself was spotless and had all the home comforts like washing machine and dishwasher, kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Our outside light wasn't working and repair men were there within minutes to fix the issue nothing seemed a problem.
Beautiful little pool area with bar that serves food and drinks until 8pm.
The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us.
Housekeeping was done twice during our 7 night stay given fresh towels and loo roll again lovley staff that couldn't do enough to help.
The area itself is an uber/bolt ride away costing around 5euro to get to marina.

Wasn’t expecting this to be the absolute wee gem that it was 😊 lovely spacious apartment, yes it does need spruced up in places but we had the standard one and it was well equipped and immaculate. (Washing machine, fridge freezer, hob overnight, toaster, microwave)
Cleaners in regularly and all staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely pool area, very chilled and always beds available. Used Uber for food and taxis but there is a spar 5 min walk and a larger supermarket 10 min walk. We loved it so much we’ve booked up for next year as soon as we returned.
For restaurants our favourites were Don toro Angus grill (end of the marina) and Retinto.
All in all we would highly recommend.

Spacious quiet family apartments.
Pool area adequate for size of complex and enjoyed by children. Pool area could potentially be slightly better maintained.
Bar area nice for an afternoon drink, service and staff good.
Apartments clean and maintained regularly throughout our stay. Air Conditioning leaked but was fixed during our stay.
My only frustration was, when we arrived we were originally offered a ground floor apartment near reception and close to drive. I was disappointed how dark it was, no sun on balcony. I enquired if there was an alternative.
Was told absolutely no alternative as fully booked. As we started to settled, after few hours, it became evident that air conditioning was leaking excessively. I complained again stating I really wasn’t happy.
We were then shown to a bright sunny quieter first floor apartment on the other side of the complex. It was obvious throughout our stay that the complex was no where near full, many apartments appeared vacant. It is frustrating that they weren’t honest when I first enquired about an alternative. The new apartment transformed our holiday experience so I would encourage people persevere if not happy with the original apartment offered.
Overall, our holiday in the alternative apartment was lovely. It was quiet, spacious, bright and comfortable.
It was a great base for exploring the Algarve with our hire car. We had wonderful days out to Lagos, Albuferia beaches, Silves and Sagres.
Good supermarket near by. Would highly recommend a hire car for ease of exploring from this location

The first bungalow they gave us was fine apart from the kitchen area. Cupboard doors hanging off, large chips & marks & peeling worktops. In general disrepair. Complained & got moved to a bungalow with brand new kitchen. Rest of the bungalow was spotless. Large with 2 bedrooms & plenty of space. Pool area in a bit is disarray. Pool was not cleaned once in the 7 days we were there. Weeds growing round pool not many brollys for shade round pool( some broken) in general the place could do with a good tidy up. 1/2 hour walk into marina. Can get bus outside hotel into town & albufera. Down load the Uber app as there taxis are a lot cheaper than the local ones. Portuguese people very friendly & most speak English. I would stay here again if the full place was given a makeover. Never anyone looking after the pool area or gardens.

No there are no free shuttles, but courses are very near, so you can almost walk to the courses or take A taxi. There is british bistro, but it's open from 11 am. About 200 metres Away is small Cafe where you can hake breakfast and also food market.
