Many travelers regard Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Algarve Resort as a stylish escape, applauding its beautiful design and exceptional cleanliness, with spotless rooms and pristine common areas often highlighted. The hotel's prime location is consistently celebrated for its easy access to local attractions. While the range of amenities, including a stunning pool and a highly regarded spa, is frequently praised, guests have called out additional charges and the potential for improvement.
Service reviews are mixed, with praise for attentive staff contrasted by occasional critiques of unresponsiveness. Moreover, some guests report disruptions from noisy surroundings, which can detract from the peaceful atmosphere.

Detailed Reviews
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend (3 nights) and the hotel is as lovely as the pictures. Great location, near to bars and restaurants as well as activities (if you wanted to). As we have come out of peak season the beach behind the hotel was unfortunately closed but that’s the only negative I can put. The spa is lovely also; we had a cloudy day with some rain so we made use of the sauna and steam rooms which are small but good.
The breakfast everyday is a good selection of hot and cold so something for everyone - only thing is if you don’t like birds you mig he not like the breakfast restaurant as they fly in and out (the staff will try and keep them out as much as they can).
I would say the hotel restaurant is quite pricey, especially compared to similar restaurants just outside the hotel; the steakhouse nearest the hotel is amazing!
I would highly recommend this hotel and spa as well as the location for a long weekend of relaxing 😎

Dear guest, Guest comments and suggestions are fundamental for a continuous optimisation of our levels of service, for which reason the Hotel's team would like to thank you for assessing your recent stay. We are delighted to verify that we have contributed to such a positive experience. Please, kindly note that the works being carried at the beach are not the Hotel responsability, as they are being held by Autarchy. We honestly apologize the inconvenient these situations have caused you, as it is our aim always to provide a wonderful experience to our guests. We are extremely proud to know that you had a lovely stay with us and that you enjoyed our SPA service, as well as our wide selection of products at breakfast. In regards to the hotel restaurant price, please note that they are stated according to the price of 5 star hotels and services. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back to Tivoli Marina Vilamoura soon. Best regards, Hugo Gonçalves The General Manager

Tivoli commands the Marina & has a superb location right on the beach & the marina. We stayed in a Purobeach room marina view, great for watching the yachts coming & going & didn't experience any noise from nearby restaurants. With Purobeach access you are allocated a sunbed on the beach for your stay, this worked very well for us as it's a popular beach club & we could relax knowing we only had to stroll there at leisure - no rushing to place towels! Breakfast was waiter service at the beachside restaurant, such a relaxing start to each day. The staff in particular were superb & really looked after us. We ventured to the pool late afternoons when the DJ cranked up the volume & found the gardens equally relaxing but without the lovely thick cushioned beds of the beach. We also enjoyed seeing the many varieties of birds visiting the pool area. The hotel handles covid well with mandatory masks once inside & only 4 people in lifts. Missed our tea/coffee in the room in china cups but understandable at this time & a minor grumble. Overall, a lovely hotel that strives to deliver guest expectations & succeeds.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
This was our first trip out of the UK in two years, and with all the necessary paperwork involved we were really hoping it would be worth it. It was. The hotel is in a lovely location and our sea view room allowed us to fall asleep with the sound of the waves to lull us. Yes, the rooms are a bit tired in areas, but they're spotlessly clean, spacious, with huge beds and all the amenities you need; what wasn't available in the room was brought as soon as asked (Covid has meant that some items cannot be left from guest to guest).
Common areas were cleaned continuously, with all staff (and most clients) wearing masks while moving around indoors. And the staff are WONDERFUL; from the Front Desk and Customer Service Desk, through to the bars, restaurants and cleaning staff everyone was as helpful as they could possibly be. Document printing was seen as a new but regular service and help given with a smile every time
Breakfast was excellent as was our regularly-changing inclusive dinner menu. The hotel's beach bar / restaurant was expensive, but only a short boardwalk away from a lovely small beach restaurant with an extensive fresh fish menu
The Tivoli made all our efforts to book a holiday well worth the trouble and we will be back again very soon. Thank you all staff for making it perfect

We booked our trip to the Tivoli within 2 hours of the UK government relaxing restrictions on travel to Portugal (we were meant to be visiting Croatia). We arrived 36 hours later!
We had hardly any time to research or plan but took the advice of Helen Parker, our agent at Travel Counsellors and she did a fabulous job!
As parents who'd been working non stop from home since March without a break, accompanied by older teenagers who needed their own space, then the combination of the hotel itself and its central location worked exceptionally well for us.
We were very impressed by the attention to hygiene and cleanliness, during every aspect of our stay, and all guests embraced the new ways of staying in hotels such as the Tivoli;
4 not 16 in a lift
mandatory mask wearing in all public areas
disposable cups etc in rooms
PPE for housekeepers (they did an amazing job and deserve a lot of credit!)
There are a few suggestions I have that could improve things even more.
1. Update your Trip advisor photos! Some of them are almost ten years' old. The hotel has had a massive external and internal refurbishment since they were taken and the one of reception in the main picture does you a massive disservice. We would not have booked if we'd had more time and had seen the current photos (your website is excellent by the way).
2. More bar staff needed in the pool area. The ones who were there, were working hard, but we were never asked if we wanted a drink. We had to look hard to find a server. This is easy to fix.
That's it really. All the staff in the restaurants, spa, reception, housekeeping, maintenance etc are doing a great job wearing their masks and delivering an excellent customer experience in challenging times.
We'd love to visit again.

Hotel Trivoli Vilamoura
5 Star?
6-20 September 2020
Always enjoy writing a review for the benefit of other travellers if they are thinking about booking a holiday at this resort/hotel.
The Hotel Trioli is located perfectly to enjoy the delights of the fabulous bars & restaurants in this clean vibrant marina Algarve resort.
With all rooms giving either a marina or sea view. The hotel and rooms are immaculately clean and every thing possible has been done to avoid any possibility of the Covid 19 virus being passed on.
Now, giving this hotel a 5 star rating amazes me the rooms are very boring and bland, with absolutely No ‘whow factor’ in fact quite disappointing when you open the door.
The bathrooms are excellent thou, good shower’s bright and well equipped.
We stayed in room 126 with a large balcony, comprising of a horrible slippery (when wet) wooden floor decking with a cheap table and 2 chairs.
The mini bar which I always tend to avoid at any hotel due to cost was well stocked but left room for our own champagne.
Beware thou the coffee left out is not complimentary like other 5 star hotels we have stayed in. This is 2 euros per capsule, we enjoyed 3 cups each every day, morning, Pre Dinner and last drink of the day. So this added to our bill with no notice was a extra 156 euros! I naturally complained but told to write in as I should have scanned a card with a digital menu According to the girl on reception, no manager available and it’s not my style to complain to hard to the front desk staff as they are just doing there jobs.
Anyway the pool area, like a lot of hotels they offer the extra Beach Club but to make it more attractive they take away the cushions for the poor people on the free sun beds and charge you 30 euros a day to enjoy these at the attached beach club with its private pool and even more expensive drinks. The music around the pool was just irritating the same every day. The breakfasts were well organised with social distancing observed throughout and very enjoyable with a good selection for everyone
Any way conclusion, I have to say the worst 5 star hotel we have stayed in, enjoyed the holiday and Vilamoura immensely, will go back but differently not to this hotel.

Me and my partner visited here at the end of feb and left at the beginning of March, was a 7 night stay. The staff are all amazing, couldn’t fault any of them. They would do anything for anyone without even thinking about it, they are super. It was both our birthdays whilst we was here and they made us feel so special, free champagne and cake to our rooms twice to celebrate. Was a lovely touch.
The room we was in was nice too, the cleaners were fab, they would always leave us chocolates on our beds of an evening. We loved it.
The half board food was ok, standard breakfast, help yourself. Fried breakfast, cereals, cheese & pasties. Free mimosas are a great bonus!
The evening meal was ok too, help yourself again, starter was soup, salads, then main dishes followed by desert. Not a lot to choose from but it was nice enough.
Two different restaurants for half board, we found ourselves in one for the first few nights then peppers for the rest of the nights, wasn’t a problem as food was better in peppers, they do a 3 day rota so the menu changes every 3 days too.
Peppers steakhouse was unreal, the staff, the food, the cocktails. We come here for my partners birthday (2nd day of our holiday) it is located in the hotel. We had the main menu (not the half board menu) but they take off €25 per person on the bill which is great. Or for half board you don’t pay for the food, just the drinks but it’s a different menu. Both menus were great though. We come here a few nights, food was nice every night except the last, the steak wasn’t done to how we like it but they were quick to rectify it for us which was brilliant.
We didn’t come here at the right time of year to be honest, quiet around the hotel, bars were nice but we didn’t really leave the hotel at night, we just stayed in the bar they had, cocktails are amazing! Pricey, but best cocktails I’ve had. Could imagine the marina being mega busy at peak times.
The weather played a massive part in our holiday, was very windy, we only sat by the pool once or twice, I would recommend booking a room with a sea view as you get the sun all day on your balcony with NO wind! No sun on the marina side rooms. The times where we was by the pool we had pool service, he would come and take your drink order from the sun-beds which was really really nice.
Was a good mini/crazy golf place too not that far a walk, was something fun for us to do on the cloudy days.
We wanted to go to purobeach but it was closed, a lot of work going around on the beach for quite a way down the beach too. No access to the beach from the hotel because of the work. There is a beach the other side of the marina we walked too, takes about 20 mins but it’s lovely, some beach bars too all along it. Bet it would look amazing at the peak times of the season. Can’t wait to come back!
Thank you for a brilliant stay.

We arrived may 21st as a group of 6, on arrival there was a very long wait at check in with only 1 person in front of us. When 2 of our group checked their room it was full of tiny flies which seem to plague all the common area of the hotel and your room if any door is left open. They moved room but were given a twin. My new husband and I were apparently in a nicer room on the 8th floor, the only difference was that we had shelves next to the tv. We were also given twin beds on what was meant to be a mini honey moon, we asked for a double. They said they would sort it but it was never resolved. 2 additional guests were arriving as a surprise for myself, this was ruined by the hotel calling our room asking for the additional guests contact details by name. The front desk had been informed not to tell me but still did.
Breakfast was awful. They are serving at the stations which causes huge waits, I understand this is to keep people safe but they have 1 person doing 3 stations. I asked for toast which came out barley toasted, it needs doing 4 times before it’s actually toast. I asked them to adjust the machine but they did not understand or know how to. All the lids in the hot food were open, so we had cold eggs, sausage mushrooms and beans. I let them know everything was cold so the lids were down the next day but everything was still Luke warm. If you need reception you have to go down, they do not answer the phone. Book your return covid test before you come, the hotel don’t have a clue. We booked with synlab who come to the hotel. Every person in the queue had been given different instructions, the lab were late. We queued for an hour and a half In the morning. The hotel came and told people off for resting on the floor.
Over all I would only recommend this hotel if you’re looking for something like a b&b
Definitely not a 5 star hotel in any respect. The level of service was almost nonexistent, the only service you’ll get is if you queue at the pool bar to order food.
Would not recommend.

Dear Alexsolera, Thank you for answering our survey. Guest comments and suggestions are fundamental for a continuous optimization of our levels of service, for which reason the Hotel's team would like to thank you for assessing your recent stay. We are deeply sorry to know that your experience fell short of your expectations. Please kindly note we do not confirm bed typologies but when double bedded rooms are available and regarding our availability, we are more than happy to allocate guests as requested. Nevertheless, we also have special topper kits that can turn two twin beds into one double bed whenever they are available. We are sorry to verify that this was not the case during your stay. We would like to present our most sincere apologies for all the inconveniences experienced in our outlets. Please, kindly note that due to the affluence of guests and extraordinary covid rules, the check-in and check-out process could be a little longer than expected. Regarding PCR tests and in order to improve a better service to our clients, the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura offered a partnership for this purpose, in order to render this service in the Hotel. Since it is an outsourcing service and due to a large number of guests, its process may take a little longer than supposed. Allow us to inform you that we have forwarded your comments to the responsible company so that they can take the necessary measures to avoid similar situations. I would like to inform you that we thank you all the given information as we do want to improve each day with our guest’s suggestions.  It would be a pleasure to welcome you back to Tivoli Marina Vilamoura soon to restore your trust and faith in our services. Best regards, The General Manager Hugo Gonçalves

We only stayed one night at the start of our holiday so views are based on a short interaction with the Tivoli. We had booked a sea view superior room which had amazing views. Room was a good size, modern with balcony and table/chairs. The bathroom was a good size with walk in shower, no face towels though.
We ordered room service which arrived quickly, the pizzas (€15) were ok but not the best I’ve ever tasted. Food came quickly.
In the morning we went down to breakfast, served in the huge restaurant on the ground floor. Lots of variety for all tastes and great to sit outside having breakfast.
We walked across to the adjoining beach - this is where the Purobeach beach restaurant and sun loungers were, the latter only available if you had booked the relevant room category. I understood we could have paid a supplement to use these but we were happy with putting our towels on the beach. The sea was pretty rough so wasn’t ideal for swimming.
Here is the only negative part of our stay, when we returned to the hotel grounds and pool area there were very few sun loungers available. Most had towels and a few random books on them but no one used them for hours. I suspect people who had use of the Purobeach had ‘reserved’ loungers by the pool for when they returned from the beach. This was really frustrating as we ended up having to sit in the pool restaurant just to get somewhere to sit. This was really disappointing and should be policed better by the pool staff.
Check out was quick and efficient and we were offered complimentary water for our onward journey and our parking ticket validated with no charge.
All in all, I would recommend others to stay here and we would return but Tivoli, please can you review how the pool sun loungers are managed as it wasn’t fair to a lot of people wanting to use these facilities.

Late holiday to escape the hectic pre Christmas season. Booked a stay at the Tivoli Marina whilst in the resort as our original apartment was unsatisfactory. This is the best hotel in Vilamoura and we could not fault it. The public areas around the pool /bars /dining area are spotless and welcoming. The rooms are large with good size balconies (overlooking either the marina or the sea), a supersized bathroom and generally excellent facilities. Breakfast was included and this too had everything you could need including healthy options.
Location was fabulous being directly beside the marina which has several bars/restaurants and shops, and with beach access directly from the pool area. The staff were friendly & helpful, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. If I returned to this resort I would not consider staying anywhere else.

When staying in chain hotels, the brand’s name makes you expect a certain level of service, but it is then up to the staff to deliver the expected, can’t fully express how impressed I was with customer service as well as with this location (great Marina view),and heated indoor pool. (Up to 8 people)
Special thanks to DIANA, who provided a real prompt support of high quality with all our queries.

Hi there,
As far as I’m aware you can go to the pool and surrounding gardens whatever time. Yes, there are those who get down early to get the best seats - but no official reservation.
Yes there are. Full amenity kit provided.
Honestly there are lots of restaurants for all, we had no issue getting a table apart from Chines Zu Yi (Chinese restaurant) on the main harbour front. You definitely need to book in advance as it’s amazing!!
Yes it does - excellent service too.
