Having read previous 1 star reviews we were somewhat worried as to what we were going to find when we arrived. It’s almost like they were at a different hotel to us!
The hotel seems spotless. Our room is lovely and anything we have asked for has been done. I asked for more hangers and they were in the room in an hour. Asked for the twin beds to be made into one bed - done. An extra seat was added to the balcony.
We find the breakfast to be excellent. Food is hot and there are about 6 coffee machines dotted around and all are working.
Reception staff are very friendly and helpful, as are restaurant and pool staff.
The pool is huge, there is a separate kids pool and play area, loads of beds around the pool or the surrounding grass areas.
Hotel is excellently situated just across from the beach and the marina with all the restaurants and bars.
Have traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Caribbean and would highly recommend this hotel. .
Ps. Read comments about building site next door. It’s in its final stages and we have had zero impact from this.

We stayed here for 3 weeks, and have had a great time! Having stayed in many so called 5 star hotels in Europe, this is without doubt an accurate assessment. We were lucky to be given a room on the 10th floor, overlooking both the sea and the marina. We didn’t get the sun til the afternoon, but saw the most fantastic sunsets! The staff are wonderful, from the porters, to the reception and waiting staff. We had a couple of small issues (no sound on the tv, and no water one morning) but they were dealt with so promptly. I’ve seen the reviews about the seats on the balcony. I don’t know if it was because we were staying so long but we were bought two seats when requested, but I agree they need to have two chairs. We found the hotel quite quiet at night and were only disturbed once by noisy guests. The breakfast choice is very good and you can eat as healthily or not (!) as you wish. There is an iron and ironing board in the room, and yes there is a Nespresso machine which once you use the complimentary ones they are 2 euros each, but cheap to buy them at the local supermarkets. You get cream, coffee and water topped up every day. There is a small fridge/mini bar in the room stocked up. The beds are large and firm but comfortable. The toiletries are nice, and the only request we would make would be to have bath sheets, the bath towels are, well, bath towel size! The hotel itself is very convenient for walks, and we walked to Quarteira a few times and were lucky to catch the carnival. We also walked to the old village, but there’s nothing much there. We caught buses to Albufeira and Faro, which are worth a look around. We also did a tour to Loulé, but do through a local agent, its cheaper than the ones advertised in the hotel. The cobbles can be bit uneven around the place so for anyone unsteady be aware. There are some great eating places locally, Ferrera’s (Italian) Tandoori Town, Casa de Pescador and Broa’s. The museum and villa are also worth a visit and at 3 euros each, very cheap. It feels safe walking around and there are some good places for children - apart from the pirate ship on the site there is a great family golf place, and talking of golf, this is definitely popular with golfers, with a good choice of courses. The weather has been fine, a bit windy at times but also quite hot. I would definitely recommend this hotel and whilst not as much to do in the area as some other holiday resorts, a great place to relax and enjoy!

We stayed over the New Year and were quite honestly delighted with how nice this place is. We had a sea view room which is on the end of the building overlooking the beach and sea. You can also see the working harbour over in Quarteira which is nearby. The hotel is in a great spot, roughly half way between the marina at Vilamoura and the ‘old town’ of Quarteira. The pedestrian promenade was just being finished off during our stay and links the two areas very pleasantly, each being a short walk from the hotel.
We were very happy with our room which was spacious and immaculately serviced each day. The bathroom oddly has a glass wall overlooking the bedroom, but - fortunately - has a blind you can close for privacy. Why anyone would want to shower in public is beyond me..!
The breakfast which was included in our rate was very good. It is a huge buffet with a wide range of options to suit most tastes. One thing I noted was how diligent the staff were at clearing and preparing tables. The hotel was very busy and it was a challenge to keep up with demand, but they did a good job. If I was going to be critical the only thing missing for me was a few more ‘plant based’ hot options, like mushrooms and potatoes.
We didn’t eat in the other restaurants so can’t review them, but the ambience and location of the one by the pool did look very nice. Indeed the whole pool area looks very agreeable, and has direct private access onto the lovely beach. There is a particularly nice beach bar right in front of the hotel, not part of it, but great for a sundowner.
The hotel bar is quite cosy, and the staff there are to be congratulated on expert cocktail skills and their friendly demeanour.
Overall we really enjoyed our time here, and given it is part of a large chain, we felt the service and ambiance was excellent.

Myself and my husband have just returned from an amazing 12 night stay at the Crowne Plaza Vilamoura. Check in was quick and the staff where helpful and polite, we were provided with a pack containing hand gel and wipes, i thought this was a nice touch and came in handy. All staff and guests were wearing masks, nobody was non compliant. The whole reception area was spotless and surfaces were cleaned after each person had checked in and out. We were asked if we would like a deep clean of our room during our stay alongside the normal daily cleaning that takes place, this consisted of a change of bedding and a thorough clean of all surfaces in the room, we chose 3 different dates for the duration of our stay. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with minimal queues, plastic screens were around all the food and you just asked the staff for what you wanted. Tables and chairs were cleaned after each person had used them and sugar, salt and pepper was provided in sachets inside a plastic bag on the table, this was then changed after each use. The pool area was great, the pool is an amazing size. Plenty of sun beds available that were cleaned after each use, the size of the umbrellas were great and provided lots of shade which we were grateful for in 40 degree heat! Clean pool towels were provided daily, you disposed of your old ones yourself by placing them into a plastic bin at the end of the day. We had a marina/casino and side sea view room on the 6th floor, the bed was very comfortable and huge, great for social distancing! Complimentary bottled water was provided each day and an iron and ironing board was provided in the room. The bathroom was lovely, big walk in shower With a screen that you could have up or down, this allowed you to have a shower whilst looking out at the sea, there aren’t many places you can do that. There was a separate toilet behind a glass door, within the bathroom. I would definitely say this hotel is 5* and the cleanliness also matches that. I felt totally safe with the protocols the hotel had in place and the staff were constantly cleaning all areas. I am looking forward to returning again for a weeks stay at the end of September and can highly recommend the hotel to both families and couples.

My wife and I are nearing the end of our week in Vilamoura staying at the Crowne Plaza and I have to say how wonderful it has been. All the staff in the hotel make you feel welcome throughout and nothing was ever too much trouble. We stayed on a daily breakfast package and what a breakfast it is. You can have eggs boiled, poached, scrambled, fried or there’s a nice young lady that will make you an omelette with your choice of fillings. This is along with all the other breakfast items you could ask for (please look at photos in detail.) There is also a choice in the evening of the chef’s buffet for 29€ and is money well spent as its all you can eat of various courses or you can go l’e’carte. I have included a photo of a typical menu. Our room was a side room but I don’t think you can get bad room just some are better than others. There are complimentary slippers and dressing gowns and the room was quite spacious, although the glass partitioned toilet was quirky. There are regular busses to Albufeira, Faro, Quarteira and other places from outside the Casino, ask at reception for a timetable. (You can cut through the Casino grounds entrance opposite main door of hotel) All in all a fantastic hotel and would definitely recommend.

I can only agree with the positive comments made on Crowne Plaza Vilamoura. We booked for 5 days and loved it so much we extended. In fact, it was cleaner and safer than we could asked for. Their response to Covid sets the bar so very high. From self distancing in all public areas, sanitisers at every point, max in lift to 4 and laid out. Face masks compulsory in public areas. Room cleaning options provided (we chose to protect the staff NOT to have our room cleaned daily as who would clean and change towels daily at home!!) - we were given bags to put towels when we wanted fresh and left them outside door to be changed if we wished. The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was simply outstanding with enough choice and well presented. I can give such credit to management and staff of this hotel for their exemplarily way of providing such outstanding cleanliness and service whilst adhering to safety measures including wearing facemasks all day in 30 degrees heat and still they so friendly, positive and attentive. We had such a great experience and certainly didn't mind the 2 weeks self isolation given the quarantine rules applied whilst we were there. Quite frankly we would do this again in a heartbeat. So in summery - amazing amazing amazing! we will be back soon thankyou to the General Manager and the team for making our stay simply perfect. (special shout out to Jorge (pool bar), Miguel (front office) and Ana - General Manager (who we met to say thanks!)

We arrived on an early flight from the U.K. and decided to go directly to the hotel to see what time we could check in.
We were greeted by Joao on reception who was very pleasant and accommodating and he checked availability and he was able to offer us an upgraded room and access to it immediately, which was very much appreciated and meant we good offload our luggage and able to use the hotels excellent facilities.
Breakfast the following morning was busy, there was a very good selection of foods, which was replenished frequently.
Although we only stayed one night before moving to our timeshare in Quinta, it’s an hotel we will definitely use again

This is definitely a world class hotel, with a courteous and helpful staff. Cleanliness rates at 10/10. Breakfast buffet rates with the best of France, Germany, Italy. The down side is in individual rooms, estetics have a priority over comfort, one hard wood chair at the desk, one other chair with the top of the seat being 12” from the floor. For anyone with even a minor back problem, this is most uncomfortable. The only other option is to sit on the bed. Bathroom needs a hand rail to assist entering and exit the tub. This is a serious safety issue. Only one chair on the balcony, which makes it very difficult if there are two people staying in the room. Would we come back - YES - these negative comments are all on items with an easy fix. I would hope management would pay attention to this review. Ken & Barb Taylor

We stayed here for 3 nights for a business meeting. As our meeting and meals were at the nearby Tivoli hotel, my only impressions of Crowne Plaza are purely based on check-in & check-out, location and room quality. Location was very nice, close to all what Algarve offers. However, my room was extremely worn out and looked dated. The sheets had stains. I had a parking lot view from my room. The only solace was a well stocked minibar. The worst part was the checking out process wherein the person at the desk was high on weed and acting funnily, and taking too much time to check us out. One of our colleagues was charged for using the pool despite being a hotel guest, and his protests to this were handled unprofessionally. After all my stays across the world, I found it extremely weird to pay for hotel amenities separtely. In comparison, Tivoli was a much fancier hotel with lot more dining options and professional service, all of it at just 20-30 EUR more than CP.

Arrived late and immediately greeted by a lovely friendly gentleman to checked us in. The smell was very clinical but in current situation felt it was impeccably clean. Check in was thorough explaining all the procedures due to COVID-19, especially in how we would like our housekeeping & we opted for a light clean/change of towels to be placed in green bag daily & confirmed a full service half way through our week.
As an IHG platinum member we received a comp upgrade and drink voucher.
Our room was a good size with a side sea view to see the stunning sun sets. Good size balcony & only 1 chair but we moved the chair from bedroom out to balcony to give more space in room & additional chair on balcony. We had 2 large single beds & rollaway bed for my family and all was very clean & comfortable.
We found majority of people wore face masks around public areas, in lifts & walking to pool beds. Plenty of arrows marking walking directions & hand sanitisers to use frequently. In the lifts people abided by the rules & were on the whole were courteous.
Pool & garden area was well spaced out but we managed to find beds either around the pool or in the gardens with large sun umbrellas giving the much needed shade. We changed beach/pool towels on regular basis and it was good to see them sanitising sun beds & tables after each person when they had left.
We had drinks from the pool bar which was handy & also from the bar inside - all staff very pleasant & happy to serve.
A very enjoyable relaxing holiday and we hope to return again soon.

Junior Suites with Front Sea View have the best views and are more expensive the higher the floor - I was on the 9th floor. All rooms have balconies, and some have a side sea view. Those on the west-facing sude with Marina view are preferable to those on the east-facing Quarteira side.

We just returned home on Sunday( 27/8/23), and had a room on the building site side, it really wasn’t that disruptive at all, not great to look at mind 😂 especially when you’ve seen the view before the building work. You could also hear it a bit from the pool area, but it really didn’t affect our holiday. It’s just a shame such a huge development had to be built really.
I sorry, but I do not know the answer to that as I did not use that facility. However, the sun beds around the pool were free and the beach towel the hotel supplied was also free.
There are more places to choose from in the Vilamoura area.
