Having visited before we had asked for the same room during the booking process and were delighted to find this request had been met.
The studio apartment we stayed in was large and very comfortable. With a large sleeping recess and a separate dressing room, the main area of sitting and dining area is also very large. The studio has two balconies both large and receives the sun on one of them either morning or afternoon. The balcony overlooking the marina is particularly large and great for eating breakfast or sunbathing in the afternoon.
The TV complete with NOS streaming service has a few English speaking channels allowing us to keep up with current events back home.
The bathroom is fully equipped and has a good shower with excellent pressure.
The kitchen is well stocked with fridge freezer, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, gas hob and washing machine. Plenty of plates, glasses, pots pans and cutlery are there too.
The staff are very helpful and appear to be very busy with managing properties all over the resort. As such, the Marina Plaza office isn’t always staffed but the office on the other side of the park on Avenida Tivoli is open all day.
Great location, lovely apartment will definitely be back.

My wife and I are just back from a 9 day stay at these apartments and would recommend them. The location is fantastic you are only a few steps from the marina with an array of restaurants and bars. Check in was made so easy by the lady at the property office who took us to our apartment and showed us everything. Very clean with a lovely view of the marina from the balcony and everything supplied for a self catering holiday...even though we ate out all the time. Only fault for us was there is no lift and our apartment was on the 2nd floor and you had to climb 38 steps to the front door. Very satisfied and would give it 8 out of 10.

Stayed as a couple from 16 to 23 June and am happy to recommend this spacious well equipped apartment.Balcony overlooking the vibrant colorful Marina,great air conditioner,all mod cons for cooking and washing if needed.We ate out each day as there is so much choice on your doorstep. Great shower and bath, overall it's a tidy apartment that is a bit dated but very clean.Two efficient nice cleaning ladies visit twice weekly..If you are a tv fan there was only 4 channels but no English ones..Very easy and polite check in and out,we would return to the Marina Plaza and wish to say thank you to reception for holding our luggage as we waited for our airport transfer.

We arrived in Villamoura and dropped of at an estate agents to pick up keys to apartment and sign paperwork. The lady who dealt with us walked us back up the street about 2 blocks and across a carpark to the apartment then left us at the gate before we entered the building. Once inside the first impression was it was old and tired but clean. Small kitchen with everything needed for a self catering holiday. From the widow all views were facing the marina which was the best part of the apartment. The patio door did not lock so phoned the number given and someone came out and locked it, however once opened again it did not lock again. This was a concern as there was no safe in the apartment so we had to carry our money and passports around with us all week. The bathroom was old with a dripping shower and the shower screen was dirty with grease on the top and black mould at the bottom. There was a dressing room attached to the bathroom. Towel change is Friday and Monday and if not in these are left in a bag in room but the dirty towels were not picked up. On checkout day the time to leave room is 11am, however on our checkout day cleaners turned up at 10am and because we were still in room they phone the office. We asked if we could stay in room till 11.30 as taxi was picking us up at 12, we were told no but could leave our cases in their office in the estate agents. We left the room at 11 as instructed but when we went to office the door was lock, we had to just sit on a bench nearby and wait for the taxi. While sitting for half hour the lady who we had been dealing with came into veiw from a back room. I would not use this company or stay there again. The only positive I could recommend from this holiday is the location facing the marina and all the bars and restaurants around it.

We arrived at the apartment and found that all towels were dirty. In addition, they left 2 towels, and there were 3 of us. We called the reception and the employee appeared and with all her bad manners insinuated that we were the ones who stole the towels! In addition, the conditions of the apartment were terrible, loose plugs, broken toilet, dirty kitchen sink.. I recommend that you stay away from this apartment!

Booked via Hotels.com based on pictures and reviews, what we didn't know was that the pictures are a mix of a number of apartments! We expected a marina view, what we got was a view of the Tivoli Car park. THEN IT GOT WORSE! The stair bannister was loose and wobbled, in the kitchen there was 1 socket for the kettle, toaster and microwave, admittedly once we complained we were given an extention lead. When you used the washing machine it danced out into the kitchen and water came up in the floor! When you used the toilet is was either side saddle or sumo squat!!, There's no wifi, but it isn't listed but today you expect it, it's a reflection of the 1980s!, The dining table was a worn piece of garden furniture!! The chairs weren't tightly constructed. The bed creaks like a ghost house!!! We were booked for 4 nights, complained, they offered us a other apartment but by then we had booked another 1 ourselves, wasted €120, wouldn't refund, not even the tourist tax. We've stayed all over the world, yes we're older but this was 1 of the worst experiences. To be fair it was fairly clean apart from the stains on the sofa, and the joint falling apart.

Travelled 31.3.13 - 5.4.13 with my husband. Lets get the negative's out of the way first - having visited Villamoura for the past 10 years this is the first time we have stayed at these apartments. Because the weather for the past week has been the coldest we have ever had in Vilamoura we did spend more time than usual in our apartment. The apartments are very old and in desperate need of upgrading - expecially the bathroom and the kitchen. The top of the cistern on the toilet had been cracked and stuck back together again, some of the tiles were cracked also. The shower curtain could have done with being replaced as it was dirty at the bottom. Overall, very tired and dated. The kitchen did have everything that you would require from a self catering aspect - if you choose to eat in. The kettle - we had to stand it on top of the microwave as the lead was only about 4 inches long and would have never reached the plug socket from the work surface. The building itself was freezing...we only had one portable heater for the whole apartment. We choose to put this in the bedroom as this was the smallest room and stayed warmer for longer. I think that there should be more heating. The bed was the most uncomfortable and squeeky we have ever slept in..the covers didn't fit the bed they were far too small more to fit a single bed I think rather than a double. ..the pillows could have done with being replaced they were quite lumpy and obviously old. Personally, I think all the furniture is a little dated, and made the apartment feel quite dark and dull. I think the emphasis for these apartments is the prime location...I also feel that in this day and age there should be some form of satillite tv..all we had were Portuguese channels...We were on the second floor in a 1 bed apt and I would imagine that in the height of the season it would be quite noisy especially if you have young children..You are probably reading this and thinking that I have done nothing but moan!!!..The location of these apts are absolutely fantastic and if you get one with the view of the marina you won't be disappointed - how amazing to wake up to that view every morning or to sit on the balcony and watch the sun set!!..The points mentioned are purely I feel to bring these apts into the 21st century...Would I stay at these apts again??.....yes probably but only during the summer months as they were far too cold..

Stayed in Marina Plaza apartments. They were situated in an excellent position on the marina, value for money giving us the freedom to eat out where we wanted. Good value for money compared to some of the hotels in the area.

Yes these apartments are basic and need updating but it was absolutely spotless. There was everything you could need in the apartment and the cleaning ladies came regularly and did a great job. The only downside was that despite reception calling me the day before arrival to check times(very impressive) they failed to say that check in is at a local property rental agency, luckily our transfer driver knew this and took us there. That is my only concern. The view is spectacular. Its very busy here at night time but the apartment is double glazed so once your balcony door is shut you dont hear a thing, I would recommend these apartments and will be going back!

Stayed in the Marina Plaza Apartments in May 2015, Excellent location, stunning views of the marina, well maintained and well equipped. Close to bars restaurants. 10 Mins walk to beach. Couldn't fault it!
