The good things were the very friendly and professional front of house staff and the restaurant. We had made allowances knowing it was an old building and there were restrictions in what alterations could be made. When we arrived the room was freezing cold, radiators off, with an enormous, single-glazed window, and being an old building, it took a good 24 hours before the room was at an acceptable temperature. The tiled bathroom floor was so cold that we regretted not packing slippers. The radiators should have been turned on before guests arrived. The beds were very comfortable and luckily, the duvet was warm enough, with the blanket over the top, to get us warm on the first night. Although it is an comfort room, there are no seating facilities, except for a window seat. Fine in the Summer, but in Winter a very cold seat. The bathroom is basic, a hairdryer is provided, but it stops after a very short time. There is obviously a time-out on it. Luckily, I had brought a travel hairdryer and used that instead. I have quite thin, short hair, so how someone with thicker, or long hair gets their hair dried, I wonder. The Nepresso machine was fine, but no decaf coffee provided (although mentioned on the instructions), which is the only coffee I can drink because of medication. We stayed several days and on one of the days the room wasn't done, coffee pods etc not refilled. No idea why, forgotten perhaps? Now the really bad part: If you leave your credit card as guarantee for non payment, or not turning up, they will take payments without permission! We arrived back in the UK, having paid the bill in full before leaving and found they had also taken payment from the credit card. I now have to chase to get this money refunded, or start a dispute via the credit card bank. Extremely irritating.…
I don’t have a single bad word to say about my brief experience at this hotel which I found to be outstanding. That included the staff that I met as well. If you prefer a very minimalist modern hotel with sealed windows then it’s probably not the hotel for you! But I found its character it’s quiet location in the woods the facilities everything - pleased me a great deal
We stayed here for our 4 years anniversary, enjoyed it fully! Beautiful place, had all necessary things in the room, a marvelous terrace and also delicious dinner and breakfast at the place. Thank you!
Precious place, hidden, fabulous service. Basic room is really small and bathroom too small, see picture (management aware). So the criticism is really more as a heads up and recommendation to select a larger room and/or inquire about the bathroom. Other than that this hotel truly provides the magical experience one hopes for when staying at an old Dutch castle. Breakfast is fabulous and we recommend having some pre or post dinner drinks in one of their lounges, what and experience. As mentioned before, service was fabulous. Certainly recommended.
The location is great, it is super close to the beautiful forest of Zeist and surrounded by trees. The Kasteel is very pretty from the outside and in the public areas. However, our room was very small and we didn't really have the feeling of being in a Kasteel, but rather in a small, cheap hotel room. The breakfast is good but not as extraordinary as others mentioned in their reviews, especially because you have to pay it extra (18 Euros). Unfortunately, it must be noted here that the service, in particular, was not very good. With the exception of a nice waiter at the breakfast, the service staff were not courteous and not in line with how the hotel presents itself. As a guest, you don't get the feeling that you are really welcome. Side note to Covid: Our QR codes got checked at check-in. Unfortunately, not every guest was wearing a mask when entering the public areas of the hotel.…
We stayed briefly and enjoyed this quality hotel. Clean room, large bed, in room coffee/tea. Very special restaurant for dinner, with great cuisine, and everywhere super friendly staff. Worth a repeat! From the hotel we biked to places of interest closeby as the sculpture park Beerschoten. We also visited Huis Doorn from here by bus.
Stayed in Kasteel Kerckebosch for four nights and had very cosy and pleasant time despite Covid 19 and terrible weather though end of May. The property is wonderful, the style very relaxed and tasteful, the service super friendly, and the food yummy. The rooms were good, too, all proper and warm and working well; especially comfy beds. We will definitely come back, also Mollie the dog was welcome and happy. Thank you!
We absolutely adored our stay at Kasteel Kerckenbosch. We we're staying here as the last stop of our "road trip" I wanted to show my loved one (from Paris) some dutch culture and architecture and for this Kasteel Kerckenbosch was indeed the best choice. The hotel, terras and ambiance was amazing. Super happy about the Castle Suite especially during this containment période especially because of the lovely balcony overlooking the garden and hotel terras. But I must say that you might have the most gorgeous hotel, but really it is all about the people working that make the difference, they are what gives the place it's vibe and ambiance. At check in (sorry didn't get your name) the young man who just worked there for 4 weeks made us feel welcome and on the terras Maxim went above and beyond, thanks for the rose! Thank you for making our stay unforgettable, Deobia Antonia/Padre…
We had a castle suite with beautiful big balcony and big windows. Lovely huge bed in the room and jacuzzi bath in the bathroom. Just a right treat for a long weekend. Great food, wonderful people, clean everywhere. Breakfast in the room was lovely. Hotel staff were really very nice, friendly, helpful and professional. We've been treated very well by everyone. Compliments to chefs in Bistoria, not only their food looks beautiful on the plate, it tastes divine. Thank you everyone for unforgettable experience. We had a lovely time.
All was good, and though i stayed for business i would bring family for a pleasure stay. Service great from start to finish. Breakfast attentive and well served with politeness, great choice. Very spacious downstairs though room was small, and bathroom could be upgraded. Very original ambience and design. Very pleasant throughout, decent in room amenities, though noisy parties might be minor disturbance. Watch if you arrrive late noy to go to wrong entrance in dark. Hotel is separate from other building. Overall great, memorable experience, was not at all expecting such a grand experience. Front desk was very helpful, welcoming and friendly taking special care to guide me as needed. 100 per cent wonderful staff! Thanks!
