If you are required to self quarantine for 2 weeks upon arriving at Schiphol airport, this is the place to do it! Maarten, the manager, and the entire staff bend over backwards to make the best of a difficult situation. Worth splurging for one of the largest rooms...can actually walk a circuit and the wall-to-wall windows keep you in touch with the outside world. You do have to be a bit self-sufficient, though, ie be able to order food via a restaurant delivery app Maarten recommends and there is a basic kitchenette w/microwave, mini fridge, eating/drinking gear. If helpless, you are better off in an airport hotel where you can order room service. Similarly, one naturally shouldn’t expect maid service in this unique situation. But they will pre stock you with all the towels you could need. In normal circumstances, I believe I read maid service is after day 3 and then weekly. But the staff is so amazing, I’m sure they will address a need you might have outside that framework.

Dear Jon, Thank you kindly for your positive feedback. This is very much appreciated and I am glad to read, despite the quarantaine situation, we have been able to make your stay comfortable. Next time you visit the Netherlands (maybe during spring to visit the 'Keukenhof' or one of the museums at museum square) we hope you choose again for our Amrâth Apart Hotel Schiphol. It was our pleasure to have you as our guest. Enjoy your day and I hope we meet again in the future. Warm Regards, Maarten Amrâth Apart Hotel Schiphol

This hotel offers comfortable, clean rooms with a barebones "kitchenette" (microwave, fridge & sink) in a quiet neighborhood near the airport. It has meeting rooms for business conferences, no-fee laundry, a very pleasant seating area on the ground floor and a small vending facility where one can purchase beer, coffee, tea, chips and a smattering of other products. The revolving staff were helpful to a fault, even providing us with a hotplate for our room. Rooms are cleaned every six days.

I detract two stars, however, on several grounds. First, management, in their infinite wisdom and devotion to their guests' comfort, provide no soap of any kind. None. Zip. No hand soap. No shampoo. No dish soap. Add to this "inconvenience" the fact that the hotel is situated in a food and shopping desert. The nearest supermarket is a half hour's walk. There are no convenience stores in the neighborhood and only one fully booked restaurant close by. Without a car, you are stranded in a sterile suburb with basically no nearby amenities. So, let's provide no soap to our guests to save a penny, or two and needlessly piss them off. The downstairs "market" hardly helps, offering beer, overpriced wine, snacks, coffee/tea and little else.

My other main criticism is over payment. When I tried to book through their website, it wouldn't complete payment. Frustrated, I had to resort to booking via AirB&B at $200 more. Well, I got billed both by the hotel and AirB&B. Despite repeated efforts to get the hotel charge refunded, three weeks later, no refund. The staff inexplicably stated that they are unable to refund money either to my credit card or to my bank. Perhaps 21st century technology is just too complex for them. I therefore have had to resort to blocking the charge on my credit card and letting Visa and Amrath duke it out.

We had to book on the spur of the moment due to our original host getting Covid. While the rooms are comfortable, facilities adequate and the staff helpful, the detractions outweigh the advantages. Given these, I would not book at this location again. In fact, until they enter the modern age and provide essentials such as soap, I won't book with any Amrath Apart Hotel.

This hotel was the perfect spot for my friends and I to stay in for our visit to Amsterdam. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, and we paid the same amount for 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms that we would have for a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom in the center of the city. The staff was extremely helpful, professional, and kind, especially the night-shift staff member, Peter. He was always willing to help my friends and I with anything we needed and had great recommendations for things to do in the city. While the hotel is not located in the central city, it's located in a cute village that's an 18 minute drive away from Amsterdam's main attractions and a 15 minute walk away from public transport options. There's also a small market in the lobby that has a selection of snacks. The only minor inconvenience with this hotel was that soap was not provided, so make sure to bring your own.

I was a little bit disappointed about my stay.
The room wasn’t really cleaned properly, the heating system was not capable of heating the whole room and the bathroom wasn’t even equipped with a heating system.
During my stay the room was infested with silverfish.
It takes a 20 minutes walk to get to the closest bus station and the noise of the airplanes (airport nearby) was quite loud.
The washing machines were functioning quite rare and if the did. work the demand for them was quite high so the waiting time was long for them.
There was not a real reception (self check-in and out) which isn’t a problem itself but this has led to many duplicate invoices and it was very difficult to get correct invoices and my money back afterwards.
The parking fee was higher than stated at the online booking/ booking website.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend to stay there even when considering the price.

Dear Amrâth hotel,

Unfortunately, my stay here was not up to standard and I have felt trapped to stay here. On the arrival on the 4th of August I was placed in a room without tv for 2 days and my children in one that was dirty. After complaining for almost the entire day, we were transferred to two other connected rooms. Unfortunately, the bathroom of room 104 is blocked and even after reporting this for 3 days now, no one came to fixed it. The compensation from your end seems to be very u reasonable to me. My stay here was horrendous and I cannot imagine that this happened in an innovative country like the Netherlands. I will carry the news further for people to avoid this hotel as the distance to public transport is another horrible experience.

Regards,

Ms Majkel

After being let down badly by another hotel, I managed to book our party in here. Definitely the right move. In a lovely area, the welcome was lovely and they even rang to check if I'd made an error on my booking as I booked two apartments (I hadn't but appreciated the check).

This apartment style hotel was extremely clean and rooms were good size with sink, fridge, microwave and a 24 hour convenience store in lobby. Lobby has a living room area and tables to eat at if you prefer to eat at tables.
Rooms were comfortable and clean, twin beds in my two rooms I rented, and beds were great to sleep in.
Bathrooms were really clean and functional, towels get changed every 3 days, not like a regular hotel.
Nice restaurants in the neighbourhood, nice scenery around, right beside a canal.
Only down side is the 20 minutes it takes to walk to bus stop, but then when you hop on the 397 bus, it takes you right downtown to museum area in about 20 minutes. Bus pass allows you to use bus tram or train for $26euro for 3 days. Uber is around $15 to $20 euro one way.
Apartments has bikes and one scooter to rent if you prefer that mode of transport.
Melissa was great to talk to and get information from.
Like I said , great place to stay.

I work in the Travel & Hospitality world and am its biggest critic! I have always found some flaw in any property that I have visited be it an air bnb concept or a 7 star in some exotic location. However this property the Amrath Apart-Hotel Schiphol-Badhoevedorp is a property that one simply falls in love with instantly!
Here are my reasons for writing this review on the first day of my stay.
Their staff is extremely warm, compassionate, kind and sensitive to every guests individual needs. This is extremely odd as the hotel apartments are supposed to be self service yet their staff is always around to be there to help anyone who might need it!
The property is new so everything is brand new. It is designed extremely well to cater to the needs of a disabled person like me with special rooms as well as students and back packers as well. The rooms are bright and clean and the design gives of a very positive feel unlike most old city hotel rooms do. They have deployed smart technology so if you have an iphone 8 or an iphone x or the latest samsung all you do is put it on the bed side table and it will charge up - aint that way cool
Another thing that totally makes this hotel rock is its wifi - Amsterdam is a tourist city so most of its hotels do not have great wifi as its always being choked by overuse - not this place - here your wifi is amazing and factored into the cost.
if you are a business traveller then you have many options of where to have your meetings etc.
This property is extremely well priced and an excellent value for money irrespective of the fact hat you might be a business traveller or a back packer...
