I booked this hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our fantastic room 106 was close to the convent next door. We were woken early in the morning by the lovely sound of the nuns singing. Unfortunately they did not have Happy Birthday in their repertoire. A wonderful experience.

The Parador is located in the old town of Cáceres that is packed with Gothic and Renaissance palaces, a few churches and convents. The Parador is located in the 16th century palace of the marquises of Torreorgaz and an adjoining palace. The train and bus stations are some 3 kilometres away. A taxi from the bus station cost me about...

Not everyday can you stay at a historic place and spend the night. This is one of the experiences provided here and at many of the Paradors. The common areas and outside were perfectly preserved and the rooms were good with older furniture. Staff were helpful and considerate. We would come again

We stayed at four paradors during a two-week holiday in Extremadura ( Zafra, Merida, Trujillo and Caceres). We found Caceres did not come up to the high standard of the others, principally because its conversion from two adjoining palaces has resulted in a rabbit warren of corridors and rooms which, by parador standards, are rather pokey and nondescript. Public areas...

We had a wonderful time staying at the Parador in Caceres, a 14th century former Christian palace built for a knight of the Order of Santiago in the Gothic style on Moorish foundations. We were interested in exploring a less well-known part of Spain and Extremadura was just perfect. The city has UNESCO World Heritage status because of its mix...

Two 14th century palaces are joined and restored with added modern conveniences make the Parador very comfortable - huge tastefully decorated rooms with king-size beds, sitting area (albeit a bit dark) and spacious bathroom. The walled part of the city consists of narrow streets, plain buildings with only family crests for decoration. Inner gardens are hidden from view. Definitely not...

This Parador is in a wonderful location in the heart of the Old Town, but if you are driving there the roads are extremely narrow. The hotel has limited parking outside and is on a first come first served basis. When we arrived the parking was full. We stopped a few streets away and as the hotel also has secure...

We spent one night at this parador. Fortunately we managed to get one of the 9 or so parking bays located outside the hotel :-) The parador is right in the old town, which is beautiful. Rooms are spacious and clean; somewhat basic, but this is probably in keeping with the sympathetic restoration and look-and-feel of the building. Bathroom very...

we just stayed here for 1 night. It is right in the old town at the top of the hill. It was fun driving through the old streets to get there!! Parking is limited but they have covered parking outside the old town which they will shuttle you back and forth from. The wifi didnt work so well, that is...

Fantastic views of the cathedral and Roman aqueduct and a great hotel generally. A few minor issues though : As often with Paradors the signposting to the hotel is atrocious On a half board basis the pricing is very good for the quality but on a stand alone basis the restaurant is pricey, again a general Parador issue. To be...
