We were 5 friends who stayed at this beautiful 300 years old Palace called Chanoud Garh, which has been beautifully restored, yet the old world charm has been retained. We were given a warm and traditional welcome by the Singh Family. It was such a pleasure meeting and interacting with each member of this family. They are one of the most delightful families we’ve ever met. The rooms are huge and attractive, furnished with period style furniture. The bathrooms are large and very modern. Our stay was very comfortable and a different experience all together. The home cooked food was delicious and plentiful. The amazing Singh family are kind and humble and shared their stories with us and we got to spend quality time with them. We cherish the time spent together with them and would definitely recommend this gorgeous place for a truly great experience. Do not miss out on this place!…

February 2020 - Mother & daughter tour A year ago we came off the highway and into a sleepy village. Having been in cities up until now, we could feel ourselves unwinding. We were greeted by a delightful family and were given a traditional greeting with a marigold garland. We were made to feel special and you couldn't tell there were others around. My Mum & I could have cheerfully stayed here for the rest of our holiday and our eyes were leaking when we left two nights later. The first place we could truly relax and met the family and staff who had a clear love for the place and the animals and birds! We felt like we were in a movie set. The rooms were just gorgeous and the food tasty. We had a chance to mingle with the family and other guests, and the restaurant and apertifs at sunset were atmospheric. The family or staff kindly walked with my Mother to and from places to eat so she never felt rushed or left out. We were never left wanting, other than wishing we could stay longer! Excursions were a brief village walk to the school which was manageable for my Mum and the jeep safari which we both loved for the stories, the scenery and birds. Seeing Sarus Cranes unexpectedly and the sunset on the saltpans was a highlight! I'm not keen on having too much attention on my birthday but the family all did their bit of tasteful and discreet wishes and the schoolkids were fun and thoughtful too! Thank you for the cake too! Probably one of the best birthdays I've had in recent years. Without a doubt the memories of places like this have helped us get through this covid year…

Located in the heart of Rural Rajasthan, this luxuriant 300-year-old fort-palace - that has been painfully restored - is steeped in history, loaded with colorful artwork, and comes with a heavy dose of the famed Rajputana Hospitality. Spread over an area of over 200,000 square feet, the architecture of the palace exhibits a mix of three different schools of architecture- Mewar, Marwar and the British Raj. Studded with Stone Filigree Archways, Colorful Walls & Doors, Intricately Carved Jharokhas (overhanging enclosed balconies), Period style Furniture, Marble filled Corridors, Stained-glass Windows, and a fountain filled Courtyard - this place could disorient even the most knowledgeable travelers. The place feels like a Historic Haciendas of Central America from some angles, and like one of those Chapel Accommodations of Mexico or South America from other angles. And to confuse you further it also radiates the vibe of the Traditional Riadh’s of North Africa in some areas! What makes the place more culturally interesting is that some of the suites here were inspired by the architecture of the Victorian era, as they were built during colonial rule, for weary British travelers seeking a comfortable stay during their hunting expeditions. So you also get a vibe of the British Raj during your stay here! When I say this boutique-beauty has been ‘painfully’ restored – I really mean it in every sense of the word! The younger scions of the royal family who transformed this aging jewel – that was gradually eroding and starting to lose its shine – into a Heritage hotel spent almost a decade in the process of renovation. And they have certainly done a wonderful job of tastefully renovating it with great detail, an eye for color, and priority for quality yet retaining some of the essential heritage aspects. The fort complex is a treasure trove of historical artifacts, exquisitely designed quarters, frescoed walls, charming courtyards, and serene spaces. You could easily spend a whole day just exploring the various spaces and capturing those instaworthy pictures out of LOCATION: in the heart of Chanoud Village, less than couple of hours from Udaipur DINE + DRINK: All meals are included in the price of staying at Chanoud. You'll be treated to some delicious, traditional home-cooked Rajasthani cuisine, including many of the Rathore family’s favorites using recipes that have been passed down through the generations. ROOM: We stayed in Suite 09, so this review is based on that; VIEW: The sitout outside the room has a view of the Tranquil and calming courtyard; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Excellent Spa quality luxury cosmetics from KAMA! With just a small number of suites, every room feels personal. Each suite in the property feels personal, and unique due to the age and character of the building, and ours even came with original stone archways and impressive carvings. Spacious and beautifully-presented,it was furnished with period-style furniture and featuring large en suite bathrooms . FACILITIES: No Gym or Pool, just enjoy your time to unwind in ROyal luxury! SERVICE:There is a huge difference between Hospitality and Hosting. At Chanoud Garh you get treated to the latter which is almost impossible to find these days especially in a Luxury Heritage Stay. Right from the minute you step into this palace, You would be personally hosted by 13th-generation descendents of the Royal Rathore family, and treated like family and not as a guest of a Fort Palace hotel! We were there for the Diwali break , and had the most relaxed and comfortable stay. The family is very hospitable and went out of their way , to make sure everything was fine . Food was outstanding, a big spread every meal .the fort is beautiful and really nicely done . Came back rejuvenated! The highlight was the history tour with Jairaj ! All in all ..... A must go ...

We arrived in chanoud Garh driving through very narrow streets then arrived at this amazing building/home because that is what it is. The rooms are amazing the architecture and interior design was stunning. We only stayed here for one night wish we could have stayed longer. Def will be back. There is so much history here one of the sons took us on a mini tour of the house its a very family orientated business. We spent a lovely evening with family round the fire pit. The food was local which was amazing. Unfortunately we had to leave and due to the virus fly home the next day. I want to thank the whole family and What a privilege for us to stay with you on our last night in India we will be back. Memories to cherish
