This is a beautiful small converted hunting lodge just off the road from Jaipur to Jodhpur and nestled in the Aravalli Hills. The main complex consists of two buildings - one used to be for the men and one for the women. We had sundowners at the top of the old women’s building admiring a gorgeous Indian sunset. Our room was a “mud hut” style building with large bedroom and separate living room area. The room was fabulously decorated and had its own plunge pool. The hotel operates a zero km policy so almost everything is sourced from less than 1km from the hotel. Sustainability features highly. We were only there overnight but managed to squeeze in an Ayurvedic massage, stargazing, a guided walk round the estate and some pottery with the local potter. We also had one of our best meals in India. Just wish we’d stayed longer!…
The place absolutely beautiful, peaceful and calm. I stayed there for new years with my girlfriend. They had so many interesting activities, such as bird watching, safari, trekking. The food was made mostly from vegetables grown in their garden or the local village. Which I felt was very thoughtful. They were very connected to the nearby villages and empowered them w job opportunities by making us undergo experiences of their markets and dining with them, which led for income to the people residing in those villages. We even saw LEOPARDS twice on our trip. Best part is no animals are harmed, and are freely allowed to roam around. The service was amazing and the general manager, Dilip was very involved with all the guests
We stayed here mid way through a visit to Rajasthan and it was the perfect place to decompress and relax. The hotel is set around a small lake with just 12 guest cottages. The cottages are beautiful in their traditional, almost rustic way, and they all feel like they are completely on their own. Each is incredibly spacious inside with high ceilings and multiple rooms, as well as an outside area complete with a plunge pool. The setting of the hotel is stunning and you feel like you're completely immersed in the scrubland wilderness. There were many areas to relax, like atop or within the building overlooking the pool, or indeed anywhere in the grounds. The food was amazing, with the chefs producing some of the best curries I've ever had. What's more, there is no ordering. The food is simply laid on for you, and all of it, from the canapés and starters to the desert, is phenomenal. Most of the food is cooked using produce from their own farm, and it is unbelievably fresh and delicious. One other thing of note was just how fantastic the staff were. They were always around to be of assistance and were incredibly attentive at meal times. Moreover, if you desire, they will put on activities for you such as a nature walk around the grounds, mountain biking, bird watching, kayaking, star gazing, a traditional pottery demonstration, spice mixing etc. It is probably my favourite hotel that I have ever stayed in, and if I ever return to Rajasthan I will be certain to revisit it.…
Me and my wife celebrated our anniversary here in December 22. To our great luck, we were the only ones in the hotel -- out of total 12 cottages. I could not have asked for a better vacation. About 2.5 hours drive from Jodhpur, this place is absolutely out of this world. Something everyone should experience once for sure. The cottages are amazingly designed and the best one is Room#8. Great views right from your bed. They are made from stones and mud -- so it keeps the room temperature under control be it hot or cold. Moreover they have dessert coolers too. We did not need it since it was December and this place has some greenery around so was quite cool. I would avoid naming people who were super helpful as I may have forgotten some of their names. Each and every soul working there will go out of his/her way to get your wishes fulfilled. Kudos to the captain of the ship -- Dilip Singh. These guys do not have "NO" in their vocabulary. You request them something and it will be done. Since we were alone for our 3 night stay we did not have a single meal at the same place. There are a few places worth exploring from views stand point and we took advantage of that. They happily obliged us -- set up the meals at the location we requested. In Spite of us being alone, they still have a nice flutist (localite) playing wonderful flute every morning and evening. And one of the evenings they also had some folks group perform just for us. The rooms are quite modern and updated -- nespresso's, shorbet's, munchies, doorless bathroom's and the works. We fell in love with the rooms from the time we entered. Extreme privacy maintained even from the splurge pool -- no other room was visible from our room and so is the case with other rooms too. Coming to food ... it was simply delicious. We surely overate every meal -- breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner. We only requested for Rajasthani food during our stay --- and none of it was repeated. They have such variety. Every item was super awesome. One thing that really won my heart -- they have a sundowner planned where they take you for a short 40 min walk with a naturist and then at the nice point, you enjoy lemon water, chai and pakoras. When we reached there, a soft clean mattress was set up along with lemon water by their staff. Then they served tea and pokoras while we enjoyed the sunset . To my pleasant surprise -- while winding up, I realized that the pakoras were not previously prepared at the hotel kitchen, but freshly prepared uptop on the hillcock. They brought the mattress, small cylinder, and stuff to make the food. People at Brij Laksham Sagar take "customer service / satisfaction" to another level which I don't think a Taj, JW, Oberoi can match. This trip we understood what it means when a Rajasthani says -- Atithi Devo Bhava. Thank you team BLS for giving us the time of our lives. Would love to visit this property once again. …
Perfect spot for a Honeymoon. Very friendly staff, special thanks to Kai. Both the nature guides are splendid, the know a lot about plants, animals, and stars. Waking up with the sound of peacocks. The landscape is food for the soul and also the real food is very good. The swimmingpool is mindblowing. The cottages are very private and there is a lot of eco equipment wich they ask you to use. Soap, skincare, shampoo, thootbrush….
From the moment we arrived, we felt so well looked after. Our room was magical, extremely comfortable with everything you could want or need. Beautiful sitting room lovely bed , superb bathroom and the most wonderful location. If you enjoy getting back to nature and relaxing in an un-spoilt location, then this is for you. An oasis of calm for a few days to relax between visiting busy mad and wonderful places Rajasthan. The estate is comprised of 12 beautiful, isolated lodges around a lake. Each has its own discreet plunge pool nestled in tropical bushes. Worth taking up the early morning nature walk which is wonderful and the sunset on the rocks which is exceptional and touches your soul. Flora and fauna exceptional when we visited end of September. Staff and food amazing too.
Each and every aspect of this resort is worth admiring - the location of the resort, the ambience, the cottages, the staff, the food. Its away from cities. Very peaceful - cottages are spaced out and it seems you are staying right in a forest. There are so many peacocks and its refreshing to get up with their voices. The resort activities are class apart - they started with canoeing in their own man made lake and while we were doing this, there was a guy playing flute - the videos we made came out to be mind-blowing. This was followed by some local music and authentic dinner close to the lake. We didn't opt for dinner in the cottage though eating outside meant eating in dark - they can't switch on too many lights due to insects - but that is quite understandable in a forest like area. Icing on the cake is their sunset views - first day from top of one of their structures, with fresh pakoras, sandwiches and tea and second day from a hill top The trekking to the hill top is experience of its kind and was the most pivotal point of our trip - the sunset from that place along with high tea, can't be expressed in words. The entire activity is so well-organized - the staff reaches before you arranging for your sitting, some nimbu--pani and then tea/snacks. And the view from there is breathtaking - you don't feel like going back. There is so much to write, so much to appreciate. One outstanding thing about the resort is the overall attention the staff gives in making sure your trip is memorable till years. A special mention to Dayal Ji for always been on his toes and working out everything as per our requests. And kudos to Sarthak for both the trekking experiences and his interesting conversations. Thanks to Dilip ji - always proactive on emails. Finally, thanks to all the other support staff whose names I don't remember but they were there - the one who drove us back from the farm, the one who served us on hill top and so many others.. A trip worth each penny we paid. We will surely recommend you to many others like us who wish to enjoy nature and like quite vacations... --Harpreet…
