Travelling solo and felt very welcome in a quiet location near the beautiful Antrim coastline. A good balance between privacy and hospitality and helpful suggestions on where to visit and eat. Exceeded expectations. TV and DVD player in room (movies provided). Wifi, tea and coffee making facilities and a small but easy to use shower room with towels. Exactly what...

Situated just outside Ballycastle village, this B&B was wonderful! Michael was so accommodating to us - making sure we had everything we might have needed. Their home is cozy, our room was very clean and comfortable. The surrounding countryside all around is family owned with cows and sheep on the hillside, a spectacular view of the ocean in the distance...

This was a very special place for us. Our daughter, a student of Irish language and music, found it, and we're so glad she did. Michael and Catherine are warm, welcoming hosts/musicians/teachers/poets/etc., etc., etc. If you want to experience the Irish love of music, literature, and conversation, please stay here. We went home with two books of Michael's poetry and...

We are just back from a two night stay at Teach an Cheoil B&B and have had a wonderful stay. Traveling with a toddler isn't aways easy, especially if you are going to someone else's home, but Michael made us feel so very welcome and really engaged with our wee boy throughout the stay. The room was comfortable and warm,...

I stayed here 4 nights exploring the north coast, the Antrim Coast Road and Derry city - the latter being about 1hr 20 mins away by car. Teach an Cheoil is located on a minor road to the east of Ballyvoy, which itself is east of Ballycastle. The location is in one of the lesser known Glens of this part...

My wife and I spent a wonderful night at Teach an Cheoil with Michael and Catherine and their lovely family. Their hospitality, friendship and craic are second to none. We were fortunate enough to enjoy some music at a local hotel with them and repaired back to the house for more stories, poetry and music with our hosts. If you're...

Mike and Catherine as well as their daughter are musicians, Mike also teaches Gaelic, and there is always traditional music somewhere in the house. The rooms are fine and well kept and the breakfast are very good. Mike is extremely helpful in offering suggestions and if your lucky you may catch he and Catherine along with other members of a...

Close to rope-bridge and the Giants Causeway to all the amenities of Ballycastle this house also provides music,, traditional Irish culture and Gaelic language, and Michael is happy to teach you all he knows. And if you are already addicted to play Irish music, you might be lucky, (as we where) to find a session or rehearsal going on in...

Teach an Cheoil B&B is the perfect spot. You can take the scenic route to the Causeway or the back route (avoiding all the tour bus traffic!) to the Causeway, Bushmills, Dunluce castle, etc. And... you can visit the picturesque but horribly touristy and expensive Portrush and Portstewart and then enjoy the quiet, local atmosphere of Ballycastle at night. As...

For two lovely days and nights this month, we stayed at the home of Michael Sands and his musical family. There are plenty of regular reasons that this is special - the good food, the comfy beds, the casual atmosphere - but there are more compelling reasons that make this a very special place. A step onto the front porch...
