We have always had a pleasant meal in the Bellmill, staff are lovely and attentive, plenty of choice, and food has always been great. Would definitely recommend. Last experience on a weekend night was a little boisterous for us, but for lunch or midweek meal its lovely…
Had a pleasant surprise, not having been before to the Belmill Hotel in Bellshill. Purchased a groupon deal for this establishment because of proximity to Bathgate. It was a lovely friendly & fresh venue for an afternoon tea. My friend & l enjoyed it immensely, fresh cut sandwiches, hot sausage rolls, plenty of dainty little cakes & the lightest scones I can honestly say I’ve ever tasted. The Hotel was light, bright & airy & the staff friendly & attentive without being intrusive. It’s is somewhere to enjoy a drink, a meal or a Sunday roast in pleasant surroundings. I will definitely be back along with a few friends.
We want here today - party of 5 for afternoon tea, we had a voucher for it, phoned in advance to book as 1 vegetarian was with us. We weren’t given any drinks menu and told it came with tea or coffee with our voucher, wasn’t told if there any specialists teas or anything like which would have been nice, they brought tea and coffee over, first mug had lipstick on it which we said, took a while to get a new one, the afternoon tea then came was told which sausage rolls were veggie and that was all, didn’t tell us what was in the sandwiches, we asked to order more drinks, we still weren’t given a menu, niece would have liked a cocktail but had no idea what they had so got wine, we were then told we had to leave by a certain time which was fine at least 40 mins before we left so we asked for a bill and box for the cakes, waited quite a while for the box of cakes. Wasn’t really the best - not sure if we could go back.…
Overnight stay and for the price I was astounded that the room was as big was immaculately cleaned had crisp fresh bedding on comfy double bed. The shower room was large spotless with big fluffy white towels. Tea coffee biscuits and toiletries provided in abundance. Had dinner downstairs the staff were pleasant proffessional and could not be more helpful especially Kenny. I will be recommending this place to friends and looking forward to my return visit
Sunday lunch here and it was absolutely beautiful home made food piping hot with fantastic waiting staff. Highly recommend . Pleasant place to come to , no rush no noise . I’d say best place I live eaten in North Lanarkshire .
I have been here many times for lunch, dinner and drinks. This time went for dinner and I think it will be the last. We both had pate starters which were tasteless, we also both ordered Cajun chicken and it was so spicy we never ate most of it even though we like spicy food this was to the point inedible. On top of this we were served a bottle of white wine which hadn't even been refrigerated...when I mentioned this to the girl she offered us ice to put in our glass...she was young and maybe needing a bit of training not her fault. Overall a very disappointing night which is a shame because it's one of the few places to go locally, I would go out my way to head further afield after that.
ordered a beef burger stated came with chips and salad . i was then asked if i wonted any extras on burger was told it was just a burger if i wanted any onions cheese ect would have to pay 75pence extra for each item i ordered onions and cheese .Well the onion was less than one ring more like a half tiny bit ,and the cheese half a slice . when burger arrived i asked where my salad was only to be told that the little piece of lettuce and small slither of tomato on burger was the salad, this to me is a total rip off so nearly £12 for a burger and a little chips rip of big time
Came here for a spot on lunch and have to say the food was amazing. Salt n chilli chips to die for. Pizza was fresh and the macaroni cheese wow. Reasonable pricing also. If we didn’t live far out we would return.
Absolutely shocking bar waiting times, unfriendly staff and unhygienic toilets that were not cleaned!!! Smelled throughout the full place. Paid money to attend for a average night out. Disappointed to say the least. Will not be back.
I like to be positive! So start with the positives. The hotel has a reasonable parking and is very close to the train station and since I arrive by train I was delighted. You have to enter the pub/restaurant to gain access to your room which is fine but it instruction to do so somewhere would be helpful. The staff were really friendly and sorted me out very quickly after half an hour in my room I realise that despite turning up the heating it wasn’t getting warmer I’m going down to the bar to get help it materialises that the heating had not been turned on this is in Scotland in the winter it was cold. There was no milk to have with a coffee or tea of which the word generousAmounts. Was thinking about food there is very very little for the vegetarian on the main menu there was only cheesy Mac there may have been a burger But it wasn’t marked as vegetarian. As for breakfast poached egg on toast is the only Vegetarian offering of the cooked breakfasts. This is the poor selection of vegetarian food I have seen in several years. My main complaint is though as all the advertising says you have the room until 12 noon, my family and I was sat in the bar having a coffee and at 11am, We are asked to clear our rooms, when it’s pointed out to the barman Just shrugged his shoulders and walked away, totally appalling service we felt we had to walk in the rain rather than wait there prior to going to a family funeral at 12:30. …
