Nice comfy place just a few bits and pieces that need attention in the rooms. Downside .. I had slips of paper being pushed under the door to tell me I was overspent on my allowance when I clearly wasn't. On the flip side In the restaurant Lynn and Christina were excellent hosts both really helpful and looked after us in the most professional way

Hotel's Favourite
I don’t normally write a review but felt compelled on this occasion. Very much enjoyed a weekend stay, the room was comfortable and very clean, well done to your housekeeping team. Comfortable lounge bar area. Food was very good, had breakfast and lunch, the soup was fabulous. Breakfast had a good choice, lovely fresh fruit, pastries and hot food which was all very nice. Staff over the weekend were very helpful and courteous, Agga for constantly topping up the buffet ensuring there was plenty food. Helen for being so cheerful around the restaurant. Lynne S, a lovely genuine person, so willing to help the guests and offered great recommendations of places to visit during our stay. Not forgetting John who was just so lovely John and Lynne are a fab team, we observed a lovely working partnership between them and lots of light hearted banter amongst the team which was great. Great to see staff happy at work!

Lovely hotel… trying to hard to be something it’s not. The pool is outdated and freezing cold. No towels in room on arrival. The food was very overpriced and underwhelming. A horribly long wait for the meal as well considering the price you’d think there would be a bit more effort. On the plus side they have some fantastic staff members. One member of staff in particular was more than helpful and deserves all the praise in the world. Lynne - S was the most accommodating member of staff we encountered. She engaged in conversation was very friendly and more than helpful, this hotel would do well to keep staff like her on board. 10 out of 10 for Lynne - S. 3 out of ten for the rest of double tree Hilton 👎🏻👎🏻

We had a lovely weekend at Hilton Strathclyde on Easter weekend. The room was spacious, modern and clean. The leisure centre was very nice with a good sized pool and a couple of saunas and steam rooms. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service was superb. Katy and Sandra at reception and Jean and John in the restaurant were the stars of the show and looked after us well. We didn’t manage to get a round of golf around Glasgow when we were there due to courses being closed but there is Strathclyde country park nearby which is a good five mile walk round the loch .

Great venue for a conference. Everything was exactly as requested. What stood out for me was that the staff were very accommodating. Annemarie was extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was to much of a problem for her, she made my life easy during our Hilti conference. Would highly recommend using the hotel.

We have been coming to the Strathclyde Hilton for a number of years, however, our last time was when it was being used for refugees. We arrived and were delighted that we were given an upgrade to a Queen Family Room. Our delight soon diminished when we saw how tired looking and drab the room looked. The room was clean apart from marks on the walls. The room definitely needs some refurb, however, as we were only going to be sleeping in the room, we decided to stick with what we had. Our first night in the bed established that we had a very old thin and lumpy mattress. Not a great sleep. We had booked on a B and B basis. At breakfast on our first morning we noticed that the standard of breakfast had gone downhill since our last visit. The fried eggs were hard and rubbery looking, the potato scones had dried up like little triangles of cardboard, the baked beans had dried up under the heat lamp and the streaky bacon was swimming in grease. I requested a soft poached egg which eventually came and was like a hard boiled egg inside. It is obvious that the sausages are not exactly premium. There were no mushrooms whatsoever on offer. The staff Jan and Anne Marie were fantastic and offered replacements, however, we did not have time to hang about, and in any case £16-£17 for breakfast, we should not have to. On our second morning my wife decided that she did not want the same experience therefore requested an omelette to be told that there would be a £9.50 charge as this was part of the a la carte menu. Come on, who are they kidding. Already paid for breakfast which includes eggs, but have to pay for eggs again if it is in an omelette. Once again we had to complain and waste time explaining our point of view before some kind staff sorted it out. There were a few grumbles from other breakfast users at this time about similar issues. Our disappointments continued in the evening when we were charged £9.60 for a pint and a half of lager. The food prices are ridiculously overpriced and not great. Despite my wife suggesting we go elsewhere for an evening meal, we gave the fish and chips a go. 70% of the fish was batter with overcooked oven chips and dried up peas. We only tried the fish because of all of the extras you have to pay for if you have a steak. Not impressed. We felt sorry for the staff who must continually have to explain all of these issues to guests. The Hotel website and tv introductions boast the availability of the Spa, however, due to outside use by non residents, a lot of services are fully booked. My wife tried to book a facial to be told that they are fully booked for 4 weeks. There is one thing for sure………..we will not be coming back to this particular Hilton.
