This is a clean, decent B&B on Block Island in a good location. Nice porch to sit and watch people walk by and gave your coffee! Victorian furnishings!! Granted, we stayed in Late July and it was very hot but the evening was quite pleasant in the mid 70's! We stayed in room #8 and for the room price I...

My son and I just got home from three nights at Gables Inn. It is a nice, well-located house with pretty, clean, well-kept rooms. The place is not fancy, but it grows on you, which probably explains why most of the other people there had stayed many times. We particularly loved the front porch (which, although facing a busy street...

Me and a group of friends showed up for a girls weekend out. The owner of the Gables in was very nice and helpful. Our room was very nice and the period furniture is beautiful. The whole feeling of the house was great.

Block Island is different than Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. In fact it is different than most places I have been. If you are looking for a high end vacation experience Block Island may not be your destination of choice. If you are looking for the most beautiful place on the Eastern Seaboard then by all means book your trip now....

We have stayed at many inns on the Island over the years and this location is the best. the inn is clean and the owner is pleasant and helpful. We love the front porch and enjoy having coffee and a muffin there in the morning. the price is great! This is the best place to stay for a weekend away...

The Gables Inn is tidy, the staff is warm and helpful, and the inn itself is equipt with almost anything you might need to borrow from a cooler to a blow-dryer to an umbrella. The inn looks like it was decorated in the 80s with slightly dated fixtures but it is all very well-kept and clean. The location is perfect...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Gables. The Inn is in a perfect location - close to beaches, stores, and restaurants. The proprietor Barbara Nyzio does a wonderful job. She is so helpful pointing out different places to visit. The rooms are charming, clean, and comfortable. We were so happy with our stay that I am going to stay...

A traveler on a budget is an oxymoron on Block Island. Downtown BI - or the Old Hatbor - is a location where lots of summertime spending goes on: seafood (Finns), ice cream, mopeds, galleries (wonderful Ambergris), a very nice bookstore, a few great shops like North Light Fibers .... . As to the Gables, it provides good value for...

We stayed in this little b & B with our two children at the end of last summer. We rented the two rooms to the far left of the house as you are facing it. This gave us our own entrance, a private room for my husband and I, a room with two twin beds for our sons, a private...

My wife and I have stayed at the Gables twice. The first some years ago was during a 'NorEaster' with our baby when most folks fled the Island. Our two-week house rental was up and so we slipped into the Gables. We had a grand cozy time, stormy pink and peach sky and a tight ship inside the Gables. This...
