The grounds are beautiful and the brunch excellent. The view from the brunch area is spectacular. A wonderful way to start the morning. We stayed in the Dodge cottage which is quaint and well kept. There are only two suggestions I might make. First would be to upgrade the mattresses. Ours was quite uncomfortable and second move the cigarette trash...

The inn is just a short walk from the ferry which was great. We are able to leave our bags at the front before check in and after check out and we were also able to check in early. We got there while breakfast was still being served so my boyfriend thought it was included and got a plate of...

The Manisses is a relaxing B&B, with a fantastic location - close to town and easy to find! You really feel back in time on Block Island and this hotel adds to that feeling. The Restaurant and bar in the Manisses is incredible - delicious cocktails and diverse menu! The shrimp ravioli pasta as an appetizer was amazing, I had...

I recently spent two nights at the Manisses. It served me quite well and I was extremely pleased with the hotel. The hotel is a short distance from "downtown", yet is very quiet. I was on the third floor and had a lot of luggage. I was so surprised when the clerk who checked me in asked me if I...

For the past ten years, I have reserved a room at this beautiful and friendly country inn overlooking the great salt pond on Block Island for the Off Soundings Spring Series. It something I look forward too every year! Chuck T.

Chela, our housekeeper at the Dodge Cottage, was especially friendly and efficient with our Sophronia Ray housekeeping. It was nice to see her smiling each of the 4 days of our stay. When we returned from the breakfast, we found the rooms immaculate by 8:30.

My husband and I came to the Hotel Manisses/1661 on Block Island to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. We hit pure gold when we landed in the Chelsea room at the Manisses; jacuzzi; king size bed; shapes of gentle animals grazing in the distance out of our window. Breakfast, included in the price, was a delicious buffet every morning. My...

My husband and I have been to Block Island many times over the years but this is the first time we have stayed in the Dodge Cottage. It is located very close to the ferry dock in the center of the town and therefore it is easy to walk off the boat and drop your bags in your room. This...

For 26 years we have come back to BI to enjoy the 1661 Inn & Hotel Manisses! If you like rustic New England living, quiet streets, great food and beach locations, put this B&B on your bucket list. The moment you settle down for the one hour trip on the ferry, relaxation takes over. Strolling through the shops, eating at...

My wife and I spent 4 days in the Dode Cottage- Alice May room. It was a nice experience, but different. The room had a very classic, old feel to it. But I believe that's pretty much what every room on the island is like. There are no big name hotels, there are tons of bnb's. The room could use...
